Scleral Lenses and Systemic Disease

Managing scleral lenses in patients with systemic disease goes far beyond the fit of the lens on the eye. This course will review ocular conditions that commonly manifest from systemic diseases, how scleral lenses are indicated, and end with case-based discussions of scleral lens management considerations in systemic disease. This course will focus on considering the patient’s entire health history when managing ocular conditions with scleral lenses, and how understanding the systemic disease is crucial to lens fitting considerations.
