Same with the PerfectDraft - if they do a deal with pubs or something. They won’t do it unless they get a deal as they won’t make any money. But if they did a deal with local pubs
Mines came last Thursday and it is a quality well built machine that pours great pints. I got the tiger bundle and that is a must try on the blade. I would recommend pre chilling kegs where possible. I seen seen a few people mention that the cooling system on their blade packed it in after a year or so of putting room temperature kegs in all the time as the machine is having to work constantly to bring the kegs down to 2 degrees from room temperature. Enjoy it, money well spent.
You read my mind Ross, better to let your beer fridge do the hard work and the machine to just tick over. Great point mate and one that should definitely be heeded.👍
Looking at this and Perfect Draft. Really poor selection of Beer compared to Perfect Draft and the Sub. Do you know if range is likely to increase. Can't find out too much
What's the best machine? How cold do they get the ales, Price comparison and variety of ales/lagers? Do they workout comparable to cost of bottles or cans? What about the Phillips machine? Just seen they have tiny rebel ale as a choice.
Which one do you think is better the PerfectDraft Phillips machine or the Blade Dispenser? I’m really thinking of picking up one of those but note sure which one I should go for
Loved the demo, has convinced me to get one as well as a friend recommended it, I wanted to do a bit of research and your video was the last straw and made me buy one yesterday, thank you 👍
What a lot of people fail to understand is this is nothing like the Heineken you buy from the supermarket in a can or a bottle. It's far superior. I've compared . I ended up pouring the bottle from the shop down the sink such was the difference in quality.
looking at their website they're starting to look at expanding the range to the other beers they feature on the SUB. If that happens I will consider buying - until then I will stick to my SUB or consider a PD. Great looking machine though
Once the beer is loaded in mate how long do you get? I would like a few pints on a Saturday, maybe a few Sunday but then I might not want a beer for 2-3 days cab it sit on the machine? Do you leave the machine on or can you turn it off then put it on a few hours before you want a pint? Great reviews
I have two perfect draft machines and the new perfect draft pro which is absolutely fantastic. I now realise I need one or two of these things as well. Great review and thanks for making me spend a grand.👍😆🏴
Hello I’ve just ordered a blade machine with 2x Heineken kegs 1x Birra Moretti keg and 6 Heineken glasses... what’s the shelf life of the kegs before opening them or does it say on the box or keg? One more thing how fast did you get yours once ordered I got mine from the blade shop it self... thanks
That cracked me up. Great, straight review..! Good man to go for a pint with I reckon. Liked and subscribed. Quick question on the blade... assuming a pre-chill of the keg in a fridge, how cold can the blade keep the keg? I like it really cold... 2C... can it get there?
I went with the blade over the PD even though the PD has the range of 40 beers, but liking the 8 Litre capacity and the less work with the recyclable plastic blade keg! Hoping ,more beers will start to be available soon for blade!
Brilliant review the only real informative blade information on youtube been looking forward to this. My Heineken beer came yesterday but no machine haha they split the order. So may be next week I think they deliver FedEx Thursday Friday. Lagunitas on this would be amazing as seen on beerwulf. Also a Weiss beer would be great. Keep us updated what beerwulf say as they are listed on site as "I'm interested"
I've been in touch with Heineken (a brewery and not just a manufacturer) and the range of beers due for release is excellent. Only today's pandemic issues causing delays. A member of the family has waited 6wks so far for his Philips. Only one 6ltr keg has arrived! Two other family members have ordered Blade pro sets and received them within 4 days. Brings your beer down to a nice icy 2° within 45mins. The Philips smaller 6ltr kegs you will have to chill at home first. Also, it doesn't bring the beer down to 2°. The build quality and finish isn't as good either. My 'Pro' Blade came with 4x8ltr Tiger kegs, 24 quality Tiger glasses. You get what you pay for. The only ones who don't like the blade (?) are usually the ones who can't afford one! Tough! I now have the Heineken & Morreti sets too! Looking forward to the new releases. I'll be putting my 2 machines into my new, £7k garden pub. I wouldn't put the Philips into it.
I was so impressed with the Blade (Tiger beer) dispenser, I bought a second 'pro' Heineken package on the same day this one arrived. We just need more of a selection. Heineken have informed me via email, that a craft, a Cider and one other (the name escapes me) are on the way. Due to today's issues, they will be a little late. Xmas maybe? Who knows. 🤞
Not for me I own a PD & sub and find the sub the perfect home draught system fits easily on my kitchen worktop can fill my fridge with a variety of torps get to change what iam drinking every 2 litres strong abv great in 2 litre size selection of beers superb and mostly imported love my pd to but find that on the big size 8 litres of the same beer not for me would be useful for a party I suppose
Hi Simon. The blade looks an awesome machine but it’s got 3 big issues. 1. It’s too expensive due to being a commercial machine. 2. It’s far too limited with only 3 beers available and even though beerwulf have been asking for over 6 months when new kegs people would like but nothing has still appeared. 3. Currently the beers available are “Brewed under Licence in the UK”. They are not the native origin brewed beers you get in the Sub or PD making Sub torps far superior and even PD kegs far superior beers. You need to remember the original purpose of the blade was to sit in curry houses or Chinese Chinese restaurants where you could drink 5-6 pints with your curry or Chow Mein and not worry too much about the beer. I get why they have been popular recently as they appeal to the mass lager drinkers who knock 8-10 pints of lager away down their locks and don’t want to be changing torps every 3-4 pints. But for a craft beer fan they are not that appealing with the limited mass lager options. The Sub already has the craft beer market thought of in its design due to pice and volume but the blade due to the volume of the kegs will only ever stay on mass produced beers, even the PD has more craft beer marketing DNA in its design that the blade. I do have to admit that although currently it’s as far away from craft beer as a beer machine can be it does look stunning though.
Nigel if it’s a commercial investment for Simon then great good on him. For most it’s not it’s a machine to buy and enjoy beer. The problem is the blade was never intended to be a home machine and still isn’t. It’s a commercial machine and just proves how crazy us Brits are about the sheer amount of beer we drink and how much money we will spend for convenience. The Blade gives exactly the same end product as the Sub (which is a 2c cold beer). The sub is the home dispenser with more variety, the blade the commercial solution to a minority problem. I have both a a sub and two PD machines and the options of over 40 beers on both so why get rid of either to be so limited in options ? I don’t see the point. If the blade ever gets more selection on par with the sub then it would be the ultimate beer machine combining both commercial build quality and variety but for such a massive investment (price is equivalent to 5 subs or 2 PD machine) the blade is a severely crippled machine limited to Moretti, Tiger and Heineken which are as far away from craft beer as you can get. I keep watching the blade market with interest but even the promise of new kegs in the past 18 months for commercial sale have never materialised which is a massive shame. The blade has all the potential to wipe the floor and dominate the home dispenser market but for some reason Heineken keep holding it back. I hope I’m wrong and in the future the blade does come good or even a more home friendly priced version is released with a decent variety of beers. But for now it’s only a commercial machine that mass lager drinkers are seeming using to satisfy there needs while in lockdown.
Craft beer tastes like shit. This is for a proper pint drinker who wants a pint when the boozer is on lockdown. You can't beat a fresh pint of good old larger. If you don't like that it's not for you.
the funking Phillips became available for order 5 days after receiving my blade! Grrrrr ! when are we likely to get Triple Karmeleit for the blade any ideas?
Over 400 quid mate, should have got it from the uk blade shop, 399 all in with 4 cases of your choice of larger and 24 glasses, no brainer, had mine since october 2019. This is by far the best home beer dispenser by far only gripe is the choice of beer is not good currently.
Sadly after buying one based off your review, My Krups Sub has crapped itself after only a month. This one "sounds" like it has the same pump - I wonder if it will be as unreliable? At 5 x the price I would hope not!!!
I've had mine 18 months now. Use it once a week. Never had a problem touch wood. I had a few faulty subs at 1 stage and they were quick to send a voucher so I could replace them
I like the krups sub because the torpedos are small a machine like this i don't drink a lot of beer only at weekend so krups subs are right amount for me these kegs would go off before I finish them
Got one of these. Find it pours beautifully if you leave it on all day. Also got one of their integral units which takes 20L kegs which is great for parties.
@@realaleguide if I had the space and there was a good variety of gear for it... How does it work... If you have one beer in it.. And not finished it and want a different one in can you do that? Or once you have it in you have to finish it.
I can't imagine that it is very cost effective but I do like it especially if you had a small business or simply for home as it has a kind of "Cool Effect" that would make it nice to sit in the kitchen. I'm not a Heineken fan but was happy to see they had other brews like Moretti and many i've never seen here in the U.S. but Heineken does own Lagunitas Brewing here in the U.S. so I could easily see some nice IPAs and such.
Eyup mate great review! I've had a blade delivered but they've accidentally sent me two part ones. Currently waiting for the domes to come back in stock but can I use the blade without the dome part? Im dying to use it haha
You need to stop holding the glass so far away from the nozzle. Place it at 45 degree angle with the glass touching the nozzle and you'll get normal pint poured first go - and make sure the glass is clean!
Heineken supposedly introduced the Blade to the U.S. market in 2019. But you sure wouldn't know it when trying to buy one. No systems or beer to be found through any channel I know of. I happen to be a home brewer and make my own lagers, pilsners, stouts, porters, and even Belgian Trappist style ales. That being said, I still would have went for one of these systems to supplement my home brews with commercially produced beers that I happen to like.
Great machine.. Beautiful pint.. only downside is its not well carbonated. On my 3rd keg .. 2 Heineken 1 moretti.. both delicious but a bit flat . Slight downside but still a beautiful draft pint in my home bar 8/10
So.... The question on everyone's lips... This or the perfect draft, taking into account cost, size, range of beers etc etc etc Seems very much horses for courses, if you like the available range and willing to spend the cash then the blade is the way to go. Big selling point for the pd is the wide range of beers available and a more established consumer base. Would love to hear your thoughts Simon.
@@Adam-eh1qd agreed, but also the range of beers available is a huge factor. I'm someone that likes to try new things and don't think I could justify the blade money for only 3 drinks and ALL lagers. People will disagree but I would say they are too similar to really be considered a "range".
If your a lager drinker Blade hands down. No fluffing around returning kegs and 14 pints throw away, next. Ofcourse if your a craft beer fan it ain't for you at the moment but maybe in the future who knows
A refillable keg would be awesome for these to take to your local craft beer pub to fill or for homebrewing.
Same with the PerfectDraft - if they do a deal with pubs or something. They won’t do it unless they get a deal as they won’t make any money. But if they did a deal with local pubs

That being said, I still would have went for one of these systems to supplement my home brews with commercially produced beers that I happen to like.
I've just got my p draft but I think I'll get one of theses aswell.
Great machine.. Beautiful pint.. only downside is its not well carbonated. On my 3rd keg .. 2 Heineken 1 moretti.. both delicious but a bit flat . Slight downside but still a beautiful draft pint in my home bar 8/10
Hi I’m trying to work out if the blade unit light only works when there’s a keg installed ?
I have the unit but no keg at the moment
Can anyone help ?
Does this need CO2? Or does the keg come pre gassed?
Pre gassed my friend
awesome unboxing. please do more of these when you get the chance 🍻😀
Be drinking it dry tonight pal in the stoned crow!! Some British craft beer in it would be super pal!
Yes! Let's hope they expand the range of kegs for it.
@@realaleguide oh wouldn't that be amazing. I'm saving up for one. Enjoy it pal.
BRILLIANT VID YAAAASSS 👏
So.... The question on everyone's lips... This or the perfect draft, taking into account cost, size, range of beers etc etc etc
Seems very much horses for courses, if you like the available range and willing to spend the cash then the blade is the way to go. Big selling point for the pd is the wide range of beers available and a more established consumer base.
Would love to hear your thoughts Simon.
Perfect draft for me, blade is good but too expensive
@@Adam-eh1qd agreed, but also the range of beers available is a huge factor. I'm someone that likes to try new things and don't think I could justify the blade money for only 3 drinks and ALL lagers. People will disagree but I would say they are too similar to really be considered a "range".
Think the price per pint might be cheaper on the blade but depends if you want a limited range of beer.
@@mezmanmerrill7412 Heineken £1.90 a pint
If your a lager drinker Blade hands down. No fluffing around returning kegs and 14 pints throw away, next. Ofcourse if your a craft beer fan it ain't for you at the moment but maybe in the future who knows
Works out about £2.23 a pint for a Birra Morretti keg + price of machine
How do we order the kegs in us? I can't find a location online
