I dont get it... hasnt omni movement been a thing since we went to 2 joystick shooters like 25 years ago? Hell, even Bond 64 let you go sideways with the yellow buttons. How is this different?
Most shooters nowadays only allow you to sprint, slide, and dive forward, rarely do they ever allow multiple directions for those movement mechanics. The only other games I can think of are Trepang2 with its omnidirectional slide and both Helldivers 2 and the Max Payne games allowing you to dive in multiple directions.
@@joelsdogbehavior Umm no? I said that most games only allow you to sprint, slide, and dive forward, while BO6's omnimovement allows players to utilize those movement mechanics in every single direction rather than being restricted to just one. I also gave an example of what games allow players to slide and dive in multiple directions. I have no idea what you got out of my reply.
@venommagnus ok let's track... so before advanced mechanics everything was omni-directional, then advanced mechanics broke that- you can only do certain movements forward, and now they're fixing that and returning to being able to do every movement omni-directionally. What am I missing?
@@joelsdogbehavior It was never broken in the first place like you claim it is, you can still walk and run in all directions, it just never applied to sprinting, sliding, and diving due to either balancing reasons or engine restrictions. Only a select few games (like the ones I previously mentioned) removed those restrictions for certain movement mechanics.
