    Hi John,
    Great build! What gearing are you running and how is the swingarm holding up? I’ve heard if you run 15/42 the chain will bite in the extended swingarm. It likes 16/44 16/45 can you please give a update weather this is true or false

    • @KneeDownRider
      @KneeDownRider  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      15/43 is the best gearing for most tracks that I have found. For really small tracks perhaps a 44 rear, and for biggr tracks perhaps a 16/44. Swingarm is super.

    Watched it from beginning end, thank you. Will give the Ktech TRDS a try next time on my next build, interested to see and feel the difference. The one mod I am very interested in for my bike, is the shift mod (N-1-2-3-4-5-6, etc). Would love to see how that goes when you tear into the motor, and also interested in doing the same if all goes well for you, which I am sure it will. Grats on dropping the lbs, its harder as we get older, fasting is def a huge help. I am down 30lbs myself since I started training again in December. I am by no means a "racer", simply an expert pace track-day enthusiast whom shares the same interests you also have. And lastly, I have heard about the 2020+ arm, and maybe when I see one for sale cheap, I will snag it and extend the wheelbase. I looked into Suter and Febur, and the amount of modifications you have to perform is ridiculous. Similar to when you discussed running those Wyman GP forks and getting everything else to work, its simpler to just run the 2020 arm. Although, the suter or febur arm does look trick as f%^k...:D
    Thanks John!!

    Hi John! It was awesome to race together last season with Utah Sport Bike Association (UTSBA) at Utah Motorsports Campus (UMC)! Excellent video. I watched it from beginning to end and learned so much from your build. Are you racing here in Utah next year? I'll have a new 2024 R1 for us to battle together! :)

      @John McKown Even though How-To videos are all over the place, they aren't that informative. I personally love How-To videos on everything, even small simple stuff. Like you made a good point on loosening the one top bolt to get extra air out when changing the coolant... never knew that! I don't know much about mechanical stuff but really been trying to learn everything.

    I've had 2 mt09's, Yosh r77 on '18 and AT2 ON '21. I also picked up a box stock, 900mi '18 mt10. I promptly put on Alpha T, sprint filter and had it flashed accordingly. You're right, these cp4's with Alpha are LOUD. I keep db killer/baffle in most of the time, robs a few hp but sound so good.....with or without baffle.

    Thanks for sharing all this information, as an aspiring amateur racer, this is invaluable. By looking at your setup, I notice the aluminum work table; I also have seen it in videos from Moto America and WSBK. Where did you get it? Are those available for the general public? Thanks again!

    Hi. Thanks for the very detailed explanation of all the mods for your bike. I race club level in California with an 848 Evo for the middleweight supersport class and bought the ‘22 R1 to change classes to the supersport open class next season. Question about the swing arm extension, after the slotting, how many links are you running now and what gearing? How long is the wheelbase after the change? Also, with the GYTR ecu what flash tune are you running? Thanks again. -J

    This is an awesome build! In regard to your front brake setup, I can see you are using the stock brake reservoir as far as I know the galespeed come with 6mm elbow and stock Nissin tank is 8mm so what size of the hose did you end up using?

    British Superbikes Championship have a lever to lock out 'neutral' how does that work compared to your billet shift drum. John.

    • @KneeDownRider
      @KneeDownRider  ปีที่แล้ว

      It is the same. They drop a spring loaded pin into the shift drum which you can put a remote lever pretty much anywhere on the bike to drop the pin. It is the same set up on the world, superbike and MotoAmerica.
