    I agree with you. Casual gigging, I really like Protection Racket drum bags. Touring with all your drums mixed in with other gear in a van, truck, lorry with other people handling your gear?
    Hard cases for sure!

    Had my protection racket for about 20yrs still awesome. Zipper still strong! Soft case can be stored in each other.

      Recently invested in the Protection Racket soft for my whole kit....24 kick, 16 & 18 floor, 13 tom, and they're super lovely. Hopefully will be adding a 14 x 8 snare bag as well soon.

    Soft cases: going from the practice space to the car to the gig.
    Hard cases: Snares or on tour.

    I found your advice of getting side padding of 20 mm (instead of 10 mm) fascinating. And while I have not yet seen soft cases with 20 mm of padding, I suspect that you are probably correct.

      Yeah theres a big difference in quality but not a huge difference in price

    Another con on the hard cases - they weigh more, so going from car to gig is more onerous. Also looks like it takes longer to pack and unpack drums from hard cases.

      Yes it does John, im not a fan of the hard cases, they're just awkward. Chat soon man

    Cases use for from spot to spot transport only. For storage never! Because moisture from air can't go out through the case and drum hardware and the wood can be dilapidated after some time of lying in cases.

    You made a good case when comparing the hard and soft. See what I did there? Cheers! 🥁

    Good review. Thanks. Not sure about your headgear though. If Einstein wore a baseball cap backwards he’d look like an idiot. No one can get away with it.

    You showed a Gator soft case in the video. I thought they had only 10 mm padding?

    • @BrendrumJones
      @BrendrumJones  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah that right but you can get different types of gator so make sure you look. Mine was 10mm but the protection racket we thicker , and there's a big difference

  • @ZetroDrummer

    I never saw the interior of the other softcase 😕 so I don't know why is worse than the one you showed

    • @BrendrumJones
      @BrendrumJones  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, it's about the foam lining as i said in the video 20mm is the minimum you should accept , if its a soft case its soft on the inside. If its a cheaper bag the lining will be less than 20mm
