One of the few scenes from that film that really works, is worth watching, and feels like good Star Trek. Data is both unyieldingly firm and at the same time sympathetic with B4, who seems frightened by the circumstance.

Data seems to exude sadness and regret for what he must do. I guess the emotion chip finally started doing what it was meant to do, either that or Data's positronic neural net finally finished learning how to process the input from the chip. Data can now realise the emotions he seems to be feeling. He's come a long way in just over a decade, even if he hadn't had the emotion chip installed until "Generations".

Well according to the prequel comic for the 2009 reboot, because of the scene when Data and B4 were connected earlier in the movie eventually Data's consciousness lived on through him. He became the new Data.

@@RALYC_GAMING And then in Picard we learn that B-4 never really did do what he was meant to do -- he just couldn't. So just before the ban on synthetics, Daystrom Institute decides to research into constructing synthetic lifeforms. They were created as twins, made from Data's memory engrams, essentially making them his daughters.

@@Robert_Douglass And Sir Patrick Stewart has actually said that Star Trek Picard isn't in the same continuity as TNG, so basicly it's a non canon 'what if' story anyway.

Does it seem odd that data sounds like his android brother lore and B4 sounded like data more!
Is B4 lore or another brother?

      @boomznbladez405 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

there 3. the first built was B4 (hence the name, b-4, because he came before the others)
2nd was Lore, and last was Data.
b4 didnt/doesnt have the same intellectual or computing capabilities that Data and Lore had.
But yes, i noticed how when Data calls b4 "brother", it sounded a lot like Lores snide remarks of "Brother" to data

@@mr.metamovies2419 I'm not going to argue this with you, because I don't want to ruin this film for you, and I'd have to review it to find a bunch of the maddening plot holes and that's no fun for me either.
If you liked this film, great, but but I know how bad a film was by how much I forget about a film. If I only remember the barebones of the plot, it was a TERRIBLE film from my point of view. My brain actively forgets films that don't make logical sense, and I remember only the barebones of this plot.
I remember nearly everything about Blade Runner, 2001 a Space Odyssey, Blood Simple (excellent film!), Memento, the very first Star Trek film - there's lots of great films, but I don't think this was one of them, but engh, different people enjoy different stuff.

@@mr.metamovies2419 Look, I don't really care. I am NOT going to watch this film again just to explain what I specifically hated about it.
If you liked it, great. At least somebody did. I specifically remember thinking "I just watched a crappy version of Wrath of Khan, and obviously they setup B4 to be the mechanism to resurrect Data"
I never saw gladiator, but I remember all the BS around "you want to get as fit as the people in GLADIATOR?" - well, all the actors were wearing prosthetic skin suits.
Honestly, I'm kind of tired of fiction anyhow. Real life events are a lot more interesting than fiction, simply because most of what we are told as being "reality" IS fiction and figuring out what is true, that's a challenge.
Did you know for example the US overthrew Ukraine's government in 2014 and started off a civil war between East and West Ukraine, and THAT'S what led to the "totally unprovoked and unjustified" (that's the US' propaganda marketing slogan) Russian / Ukrainian war?
Nemesis came out in 2002. It's literally been 20 years since I've seen it. Glad you liked it though. I just grew out of fiction entirely.
