Happy for Coach Foster. That was big for him and Ethan.

It's just a scrimmage and UCLA has many new faces on the team. They will gel as they play more games.

Totally agree. I doubt Mick cared too much about the outcome but wanted to see how the rotations come together with all the new players. Surprised by the level of detail reported from the 'closed scrimmage'. Of course you want to get a win in a competitive scrimmage but Mick needs to figure out where the offense is going to come from. To me, where the offensive production will come from is the big question. I think the defense will be strong. Davis just got hot with no expectations.

I’d say it’s just a scrimmage but last year Kansas lost to illinois in a scrimmage and it was a precursor of things to come and I know illinois was a very good team and so is SDSU but if UCLA has aspirations of being elite these things need to be taken seriously.

I never put too much stock into pre-season scrimmges. UCLA was without some key pieces. SDSU was without their three top ball handlers. I think points in the paint for Aztecs and steals for the Bruins are probably not indicative of what will come during the season.

I would love to see Cronin try the Paul Westhead Loyola Marymount style from the 1980's. Full on press and run and gun the whole game. Loyola went far with that system. Finally losing to UNLV, one the best teams of all time. Cronin has by far more athletes than Westhead did.

Bruins getting dominated in the paint is worrisome.

SDSU has been good. The scary thing i like about our Aztec team is the size they have this year which they lacked in the past. We’ve usually been a shorter team but this year have 2 7 footers who are great blockers and we added more size in some transfers and incoming freshman pharaoh Compton who was the #1 recruit out of Nevada. We also got Comptons friend Taj Degourville who is the #3 recruit from Nevada

All these cutting players, and team is ranked out of the Top 20. Read an article where Kentucky is embarrassed about not being a Top 10 team in the preseason. Hilarious. This program lives off Wooden. Alabama moved on the Saban. Kentucky moved on to Pitino and Calipari. UNC moved from Smith to Williams. Connecticut went from Calhoun to Hurley. Kansas from Williams to Self. UCLA. Still waiting. 1975. Could have been preseason ranked # 22 without basically cutting players. I mean, even the Lakers are trying to grow Bronny. Just no scruples.

No Rico Flores. Did he ask to be redshirted so he could try transfer portal next?
