Tony Khan set this up perfectly to get the Acclaimed over and Swerve is a boss heel in the making who will turn on Keith when they lose possibly to the Acclaimed at Grand slam 🔥
I think both Keith Lee and Swerve saw that “rematch” statement as Tony’s answer to the “why not do the title change because of the reaction The Acclaim got” question. I think that’s why Swerve came on so serious because he wants Tony to recognize who he’s dealing with and not make decisions and title changes based off a reaction

In this case, a future promoter watching a young rising star Jericho.
Man, I gain more respect for Jericho the longer he's in AEW. He seems to genuinely care about AEW, and is proud of it. Not all of his stuff has been amazing in AEW, but the guy is over 50 years old, and he's still one of the best in the business. I was blown away that he did a kip up in his match with Danielson. Imagine Ric Flair in his mid 50s doing what Jericho is doing in the ring, it wouldn't have happened. I know a lot of people don't like Chris for his supposed political views, but man, he is one of my all time favorites. I'm glad he's still wrestling.
The manner Jericho handles himself in the wrestling business is how a veteran should act. I may have some differences with Jericho outside of wrestling, but he is all class in a promotion.
Especially with the reports of what happened behind the scenes immediately after punk left, he handled himself well and was level headed unlike some of the other people.

@@jontuxbury6167Dude has been around since 1998 and was going full time until 2014, and then he came back. He's had a longer full time career than legends like DDP and Perry Saturn.
Such a fun event tonight. Honestly that tag team match was awesome. I was probably least excited for tbat going in... just because there wasn't much build. But they all did great. And Keith and swerve did a perfect job playing light heels and having the entire crowd rooting for the acclaimed. Tonight was a big star making match for those boys and now they'll be scissoring with the top teams.
Match of the PPV for me
I skipped it not gon lie . Don't see the hype in them . Meanwhile you got a great team like proud n powerful still without a title win now they ain't talkin
@@sjmob408 while Ortiz and Santana should have been pushed to the moon from day one .....
Thought the ol' rumour mill was spinning the story of them having a falling out with each other in real life ???
Also Santana was looking to not only leave the company but he was taking singles bookings on the Indy's before he got that horrific injury!
Like I said all from the ol' rumour mill ......so was probably all bs.
But wasn't Santana tweeting something about counting down the days til his contract was up?
I dunno I hoped LAX was going to be pushed more .
Maybe we shouldn't expect that title run anytime soon though.....
Gotta LOVETHATDANHAUSEN. He saved Pepsi Man's day.
I can’t help but respect the swagger of Swerve in Our Glory 👏🏻
Punk will be labeled by wrestling media as passionate. Yet some will say SIOG are angry…artist paint pictures, haters paint narratives.
@@MrParker-ux2mh Mr. Parker1967 Well said!
19:05 Punk using the Spindrift to ice his tricep injury, never noticed that until now
Chris jericho really is on the mount Rushmore of wrestling
Yes he is. proving that again and again. Probably next AEW champ
The man broke a lot of ground in his day and even now. His ECW matches were always golden. His promo skills from WCW to WWF are legendary. He never relented. He never eased up, he only got better. Even at his age he is way ahead of where most legends were in their careers at the same point. Hogan, Nash, Hall, Savage, Flair, etc couldn’t hold a candle to where Jericho is at. Man is an icon up there with Sting and Taker. No matter his opponent, no matter the age difference, the man brings out the best out of whomever he is facing in the ring and on the mic. That’s the mark of a legend.
Jericho is one of the funniest people in wrestling, every now and again I watch the early promo where jericho was set to face codi in his 1st defence, and they had jerichos aunts friend from church saying " I hope you beat the sh*, out of him" and then jericho with his tongue firmly in his cheek talking about a little bit of the bubbly and being le champion, it's one of the best promos ever
Jericho is the funniest guy ever , this character in AEW is his best ever imo
I'm not a full time rassling watcher these days ,but I make sure to find jerichos promos , and he is one of nicest people behind the whole thing imo , he just knows how to play the role with his tongue firmly in the side of his cheek.
The s'mark Mt Rushmore doesn't have much meaning though
@@steve10 the best was Mike Jones (Virgil) saying “Chris Jericho’s potential is like the Olive Garden breadsticks…unlimited.”
17:23 Tony's face here is priceless
Damn man. This and 15:36. Why can't Punk just stop for a moment and read not just the room but your boss sitting right next you?😔😓
@@khathide22nd as much as I love the guy, he's a huge prick. Don't care who started it, to hold a grudge for so long over a damn promo and to act out like that is very disappointing from him...
If you pause at 17:26….u can see his heartbreak right there.
Shout out to danhausen for sharing his boots with punk!! Punk likes danhausen punk gets no curses 😂
I love that they keep the storyline going in these post show scrums. Little bit of real shit mixed with keeping the storyline going.
This ain’t story bruh
@@myaccount__7269 you mark
I like AEW but CM Punk's entire rant was embarrassing and it showed how ineffective TK is as a boss/leader.
@@arvindshastry1178 punk wasn’t wrong about the EVP’s IMO. Bunch of spoiled kids.
@@windycityblackhawks What have they (EVPs) done?
Before CM Punk's arrival, I don't there were any unrest in AEW's locker room, at least of this magnitude. Now I know why Vince didn't wanted to work with CM Punk because CM Punk is toxic af.
CM Punk: "I'm hurt and I'm old, and I'm fucking tired."
*Meanwhile, Sting in his 60's, does balcony dives like he's New Jack, and Daddy Ass, Billy Gunn looks like he can still bash people's brains in.
Both of those guys are part timers, whereas Punk is working injured in a championship program.
Billy Gunn on the sessions said basically the same thing about coaching this locker room, some people want help and critiques, some people think they're perfect and blow people off. You can tell which camp is which.
18:08 he just described me at my job on a daily basis
1:15:13 Guess this conversation was about the backstage incident
Chris Jericho: "Call me later"
Tony Khan: "Yeah?"
Chris Jericho: "Some shit went down"
Tony Khan: "I'll meet you at my place later "
Tony Khan: 👁️👃👁️
oooooooo
What incident
How do you make MJF a personality to get behind, while keeping him heel or at least an anti-hero? You have Punk smashing baked goods smacking his lips into the mic and shit-talking like there’s no tomorrow. I fucking dig this, keep this shit up.
I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who noticed. Punk is starting his heel turn. This is how you start a new storyline and get everyone talking about the company. MJF is the future of the business. Tony knows he has the next Austin/Rock. Punk came back to help put over the young talent.
@@Mike19737 exactly. Punk came to AEW to put younger talent over; he never specified how.
@@PortalMaster2112 He hasn't put anybody over, though.
@@billywashere6965 I'm not even following this company in any real shape and he definitely got over a bunch of guys.
Darby and MJF got huge momentum from their feuds. Like Austin passing out in the sharp shooter: You don't need to win to get over.
They got immediately positioned as guys who can win on their day against one of the most beloved wrestlers in the industry.
@@billywashere6965 please elaborate even though you’re wrong haha
The line that got me was Punk saying "I'm trying to run a business"
What???
Each of these guys is a business in themselves their brand. They all have a brand and work for AEW but it's the brand of each of these guys that draws the money
He's running his business. His career and brand. He's a draw and a top guy unlike the indy boys from Cucamonga.
That was one of the most masterful performances I have seen. Punk is on another level.
Another level of being overrated. He should retire already
Cap he's good
