I just built one from a snapper7 with those props I still had from trying to build the brushed Flying Prius and a quick 3D printed frame. Hovers under half throttle, really smooth for indoors on stock PIDs. Your PIDs seem super high, I'l try slowly increasing them outside. I have like 3mm of clearance between props and even less between props and the board. The stock canopy was too big, so I 3D printed a simple camera holder. 37.4g AUW
Yeah these pids are what I used to use on the brushed quad. Seems like the brush less is similar in that respect. I'm not sure if it has to do with the total lack of power or the tiny motors and large prop or something.
I had a hubsan that used those props or something similar, very elliptical blades. They do work surprisingly well on 1s. There are bull nose props that I put on that worked almost better but resonate a bit. I ordered a trashcan and might order a second to transfer the parts over to your frame. Or maybe I'll 3d print a frame without prop guards.

Bob, don't know if you have a crossfire module. I put a standard nano crossfire rx on my tiny hawk and it works very well. Don't need it for the long range but you do get a very reliable link and telemetry which allows the luascript to work. This adds about 1g to the weight. It might work equally well on this setup as long as the FC has a free uart and 5v output.

The video that got me into toothpicks. 4 years later i now have 4 working 3" toothpicks, from 1s-3s, and 2 2s 2.5" toothpick (one on an OG apex toothpick frame).
After 4 years all theese intuitions led to hd micro quads with incredible specs.. I sometimes think about this: You created a new 'spot' in this hobby.. Not bad 😅
I got to build one of these!!! I gave up on brushed for the same reason, I guess just loved the idea of the size. I have tried this kinda build a little while ago with some 16x16 boards which was a soldering nightmare, but I pushed thu it. And after ruining idk 3 fc, I actually got one to fly but with out fpv! Mehh! Nevertheless I loved the video and seeing the progress of this awesome little drone. I think I’m gunna try a 2s top mount version of this hehe
yeah building a full blown micro quad sucks. repairs are even worse. connectors for motors make the world simple. I'm working on a tiny hawk frame design that puts the batt on top where it should be.
Kabab FPV take a look at the parrot mambo battery configuration. You can get up-to 700 mah Anbee 3.7v 700mAh LiPo Battery 4pcs + Multi Charger Plate Combo for Parrot Minidrones Swing/Mambo/Airborne Cargo/Airborne Night/Hydrofoil/Jumping Race/Jumping Night Drone www.amazon.com/dp/B06ZZJLST6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_98XiCbA8EHX9P But it’s the way the frame mounts the battery in the middle where The CG should be. That’s the most important thing about the configuration. These batteries also have no wires and don’t need a strap.
when I started this hobby with with the hubsan x4 just before I bought my first 5", hubsan released a tri-blade prop, it was very good in preformance but flight time went down by like 10-15%. It might be something to try on these brushless versions
small suggestions to the frame. make it 3x3 and 4x4 motor mount available, so people have option to put 1102, 1103 on it like people at flexrc do to their frames. for fc/esc mount, have options for whoop mount, 16x16mm, 20x20mm mount. so people can have options to put whatever they want onto the frame. but still it looks fine the way it is. now can you just sell the frame as it is with limited amount, so I can have something to work on ? please ps: and I appreciate that you put pid on here too. thank you for that.
I've made the 3 hole and 4 hole pattern compatible on the same frame before but it was a bit of a mess. I'd rather just have dedicated frame options for the two mountings
Brooooo this is epic!!! I loved your original flying Prius and been in love with the idea ever since! With these brushless motors I was thinking just this!! Your amazing and you NEEEEEED to make this a product. If I could have found a frame I would have made this from my snapper 7
Preordered the trash can but maybe moving the electronic to a carbon fiber frame will be an option for the feature if the frame will break too often. I feel I can push so much more with this quad respect to a full size 5 inches. I usually fly in a tight space
I've been looking to build one of these types but I have been waiting for Newbeedrones limitless frame if they ever even release it. I'd also use their hive16 stack
Have you thought about making a frame with carbon tubes in this size? Might help in further reducing weight and improving both durability and Aerodynamics?
Tubes will add huge complexity we don't need. For one thing, the motor mounts alone will add significant weight. This carbon frame is 4 grams. Hard to beat that.
Thank you for all your great info. I own a Snapper7 that oddly had 803 motors factory installed and I can’t wait to move the parts over to your frame and push these props on now. To see your flight on a 1s quad is simply stunning and I believe it’s a better way to go than 2s considering the cons of higher weight, amps draw and shorter battery life. Any idea when you have it available? All the best from Holland.
Working on getting it out asap. I'm expecting about a month. I've made some developments that will make the frame fit pretty much any whoop. I too prefer 1S since it doesn't require fumbling two batteries and charging twice as much.
Looks great !! I'd love to see this hit the $65 or so range. Hopefully it's ready here shortly. I'd love to have one for the yard. Although now 5" is viable in my yard 🤔
@@Kabab yeah thanks!! i've been thinking a source for the screw i will be using. Great suggestion!! the quad really looks like a mini x-clas quad. Thanks for reminding for us to floss.

@@dirtroadfpvforlife2919 thanks. Will be buying the parts for the build. Like kabab, i'm tired of the brushed motors, they heat up that's why they wear so fast.
@@Kabab Hi there, is there a spec sheet for the motors? for the hole patters. I tried finding it and have no luck. Im gonna try design a frame. Pulled the trigger for the parts. I got the tiny screws too. Thanks.
Try the iFlight 0804 15kv on 1s & 56 or 66mm props. I use the Bat100 & SPC95 frames. These 0804's are on Amazon for $35 a set, kinda high but EXCELLENT quality.
I understand that POV. For me, building is a big part of the hobby. Anyway, I like your Prius and wish there were more frames like that available to purchase.
I think that hd micro brushless is where it is at. They have come a tremendous way in even the last 6 months. Could you imagine having that thing with HD cam? Won’t be long. I own the original racerstar 0603 20000kv. I have 3 spares left. I built the rkh when it first came to life 18 months ago. Now look where we are at. I won’t own another brushed quad. Now these tiny brushless have bearings.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts... although it's for me a bit unclear which of these motors perform better, as your footage is from the 19.000 kv motors and you also show the 22.000 kv motors where you say that these perform better than every prebuild tinywhoop? I would say, that the 19.000 kv are more for 1-2s flying and the 22.000 kv more for only 1s
I would only use that motor size on a 65mm whoop. It's way too small for open prop designs. While it will work, there's way way more performance to be had by a bigger motor. I have my new BabyTooth platform. I just can't put out any videos about it because it's perpetually sold out.
I am with you on the excitement for these ultralight brushless whoops. I have the Mobula, Beta75x and Tiny Hawk. They are all much better than previous generation whoops. I have been able to fly them around people and buildings that I would never have considered with my bigger quads. Have you considered a build with the Caddx Turtle? I have already seen modded Mobulas and Beta75x's but something lighter and non-ducted looks even more promising. I know Diatone has the 239HD and there is a Tiny Leader that also uses the Turtle but perhaps your combo would be better in overall weight and durability eventually. Oh, getting a TBS Unify and Crossfire combo board would be awesome and something worth paying more for.
Just figured I would make myself such a frame, and just change the mobula7 electronics between the whoop frame to the «Prius» frame in the summer, and whoop in the winter!
Remember BAT-100? It was 1s minimodel like this, but with stack, not one board. I'd had one, with blue, rebranded sunnysky motors, but it didn't perform well. Now I put Racestar 0703 19000KV motors on it and YES - this baby now rips :D Fullspeed just went too early, they had good idea, but they didn't have proper motors back then. Downside - you cant put ladybird prop on this frame, only hubsan- style
Damn i like the way you review the quads. Mad crazy info. They need to send you all the micros before they send to andy and albert cause you fly the shit out of them. I know you made that one but i mean in general. Nick flys indoors nice but you be killin it outdoors
Yeah 1s can be great, my bamboo skewers frames work well on 1 and 2s even with 6500kv 1103 motors on 75mm props. I have a bunch of those props you used here and want to try this out, looks awsome.
awesome video, if anyone has problems with this prop flying off just put a little (very little) bit of sewing thread in the hole as you push it on and trim off excess.
I fly allot of those little boss builds and they perform in a similar fashion. Those props you are dead on about how they handle and from my limited experience they take a beating but never fly as good as they did before the first crash. Lol. I use them when I can. When I can't use them I will use the smaller Nanoqx paddle style. They have some pretty freakish performance also.
Merry Xmas Bob! Can’t wait to build one of these. If my gate flying is any indication, no worries about hitting someone in the eye, I’ll clip the eyelashes and lids every time;-)
I ordered my Mobula7 by the end of October and it still didint arrived, it was my christmas present from me to me, buuuuuuuáááááá.... PS- When I grow up I want to fly half as good as you, mind blowing...
Yeah. Banggood sucks. I finally got my package in the mail yesterday after months, and it wasn't what I ordered. Why do we keep giving money to banggood?!?!
Hey guys , i have a spare beecore board here and i wonder if i can implant that into the good old syma x5c ? Geared 8mm Motors , will brushed escs hold that
Nice... since I buy a whoop (UR65) I am wondering if I will still fly my 5" on the long term... Thoses whoops cost like nothing and they are very durable...And mostly I do need to drive 20min to a spot....But be aware that those prop cut skin like butter.. I get several scratches on my arms and fingers... will not happy to have in my face even a low speed I have design something similar board below the frame and cam on top fix on a tpu mount (USe tpu like spring to fix the postion of the cam).. The tpu mount comes quick heavy Did you increase tge speed of the video at the beginning?
Dude... flying through those palm trees (in Santa Monica, I assume) is exactly like flying through those towers in the original star wars arcade game...oh the memories...
Wow!! This is Super, Bob!! Make them made it with adjustable camera angle, 1S. And maybe with 1s / 2s capability. With optional prop guards. With the nasty cam used here and a cool, and robust canopy. And way under 100€, and... I'm sold! Btw, the flights here are super cool, and better, for me, than the ones with 5" quads. Maybe cause it can fly in better locations, or maybe is really just the way it flies. Seems to have more grace. Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎀🙋
Hey, I‘m still rather new in the hobby, so sorry for maybe asking a stupid question 😅 I have a betafpv 75x lying around. Do you think the props will work on that? 🤔 1102 Motors and 2s
I'm sure you don't want to build these things. It would be nice if i could buy it as a kit so we don't have to spend so much time ordering parts and configuring/tuning the flight controller. The problem I've had with those type of props is getting them too loose, it would be nice if they had a flange with screws. Could you do a deal with Emax or Banggood where you do the development and they give you the commission of the sales, or you do the distribution because like you I don't like ordering stuff from banggood and having to wait two months for it to show up? I've ordered stuff from you and got it immediately. Glad you're committed to this hobby, great work.

The video that got me into toothpicks. 4 years later i now have 4 working 3" toothpicks, from 1s-3s, and 2 2s 2.5" toothpick (one on an OG apex toothpick frame).
Will keep an eye out for the frame, looks real nice to fly for the size. Also thanks reminding us to floss, love it!
Flying Prius gets a big bro! Thanks, Bob!
Funny, I was just watching your old prius video :)
You can get up-to 700 mah Anbee 3.7v 700mAh LiPo Battery 4pcs + Multi Charger Plate Combo for Parrot Minidrones Swing/Mambo/Airborne Cargo/Airborne Night/Hydrofoil/Jumping Race/Jumping Night Drone www.amazon.com/dp/B06ZZJLST6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_98XiCbA8EHX9P
But it’s the way the frame mounts the battery in the middle where The CG should be. That’s the most important thing about the configuration. These batteries also have no wires and don’t need a strap.
My trashcan is on the way cant wait to try it. Have you seen the frames tomoquad has made for these whoop parts it looks pretty good.
That frame it going to be way to heavy for a 1s quad.. but its made for a 2s anyways
when I started this hobby with with the hubsan x4 just before I bought my first 5", hubsan released a tri-blade prop, it was very good in preformance but flight time went down by like 10-15%. It might be something to try on these brushless versions
There's something special about tiny brushless quads. I love it thanks Bob 😁👍👍
Hi Kabab,
I was thinking about building the very same... and you did it! Now this is Christmas:) Many thanks :))
small suggestions to the frame. make it 3x3 and 4x4 motor mount available, so people have option to put 1102, 1103 on it like people at flexrc do to their frames. for fc/esc mount, have options for whoop mount, 16x16mm, 20x20mm mount. so people can have options to put whatever they want onto the frame. but still it looks fine the way it is. now can you just sell the frame as it is with limited amount, so I can have something to work on ? please
ps: and I appreciate that you put pid on here too. thank you for that.
I've made the 3 hole and 4 hole pattern compatible on the same frame before but it was a bit of a mess. I'd rather just have dedicated frame options for the two mountings
I can't find frame that I can use this prop. and I have bought many. i'm in need of this frame.
I just bought a eachine trashcan. it'll take a month to come. hope to have your frame to try out.
Brooooo this is epic!!! I loved your original flying Prius and been in love with the idea ever since! With these brushless motors I was thinking just this!! Your amazing and you NEEEEEED to make this a product. If I could have found a frame I would have made this from my snapper 7
working on the best way to transfer a typical whoop. Gotta make the frame as simple as possible for users.
@@Kabab Do the emax bnf version. with prop guards also in the box. period.
Ok you got my attention. Please make this available. I need one.
I just pulverized my 2nd Mobula7 V1 frame into about 5 pieces, I would gladly try one of these frames, lol. I'm ordering a batch of magic props.
I love little 1s flying machines. Keep it up! Merry Christmas.
WoW bob, this is amazing! I want this with the internals of the trashcan!
I'll be testing that as soon as I get my trashcan
Kabab FPV awesome! Keep us updated. Love this stuff. Btw are the screwholes for the 0703 and 0603, 0803 etc. The same distance?
I'd love one. Merry Christmas Bob.
P.S. loved your comment on my floss and glue idea.
so nice! This will get more people in the hobby: cheap-tiny-durable-powerful!!!!
Kabab FPV that’s great! Can I send you an email or is there a website where I can purchase it when it is done?
Ohhh wow this made me excited! Really looking forward to a 2s Version😉😍
Pls make a Kabab FPV-ARF or something Like that. I would pay the money;)
Looks great !! I'd love to see this hit the $65 or so range. Hopefully it's ready here shortly. I'd love to have one for the yard. Although now 5" is viable in my yard 🤔
Was that Santa Monica?
Yep
you think the frame for this can be 3d printed? or there will be too much flex? nylon filament. Nice quad by the way. Thank you for sharing
yes absolutely an ABS print would definitely work but you'd need longer screws. I forgot to mention eyeglass screws work perfect.
@@Kabab yeah thanks!! i've been thinking a source for the screw i will be using. Great suggestion!! the quad really looks like a mini x-clas quad. Thanks for reminding for us to floss.
andrew c a year ago designed built many many frames. Try the carbon infused nylon or taulman 910 as well. Anything auw under 80 grams and you are golden. Bout impossible to break.
Thanks.
So awesome!!! Happy New year's quad man!
Try the iFlight 0804 15kv on 1s & 56 or 66mm props. I use the Bat100 & SPC95 frames. These 0804's are on Amazon for $35 a set, kinda high but EXCELLENT quality.
The problem with those options is that they don't come with JST connectors on them so they're annoying to solder up.
I understand that POV. For me, building is a big part of the hobby.
Anyway, I like your Prius and wish there were more frames like that available to purchase.
Can't wait! Merry Christmas Bob 🎅
The racerstar 0703 22000kv perform better than any of the prebuilt whoops other than the TinyHawk
@@Kabab Thanks
You have created a tiny beast of a quad!! Any ideas when the frame will be ready? I want it
At least a few weeks.
Kabab FPV sick man, be sure to make a vid cause I'm already sold!!!
Thank you for sharing your findings here. Curious which type of frame or specs for a frame you might suggest for 0703 or 0802 motors these days.
Unfortunately the turtle weighs as much as this entire quads AUW. It would fly with 2S but not so good and hard to fit.
Can't wait to get one of those. It looks peaty amazing!!!
Looks like a Bat100 awesome flying 👍
Awesome build! Can’t wait to see the video on 2s!👍🏽🤙🏽😃
Nick flys indoors nice but you be killin it outdoors
yea
Yeah 1s can be great, my bamboo skewers frames work well on 1 and 2s even with 6500kv 1103 motors on 75mm props.
I have a bunch of those props you used here and want to try this out, looks awsome.
nigelsheffield
Make 1s great again !
😆😆😆😆😆😆😆
awesome video, if anyone has problems with this prop flying off just put a little (very little) bit of sewing thread in the hole as you push it on and trim off excess.
Thankfully the prop seats very firmly and I measured these shafts at 0.8mm so not even a full 1mm thick
I have an eachine qx95s, like it a lot. But now I need this setup.
I thought you said these tiny quads just don't do it for you? This is spectacular brother.
I never expected this incredible level of performance
Agreed, I will be building one for sure.
@@mrmikojo5738 want it bnf. period.
When you release the frame, would it be better to take apart a mobula and just put it all on the frame with the kingkong props? The motors are 16000kv
Yes that's gonna be an excellent option
@@Kabab ok, thx alot
@@Kabab How soon do you think the frame will be ready, and what do you think I should do for a canopy?
I fly allot of those little boss builds and they perform in a similar fashion.
Those props you are dead on about how they handle and from my limited experience they take a beating but never fly as good as they did before the first crash. Lol. I use them when I can. When I can't use them I will use the smaller Nanoqx paddle style. They have some pretty freakish performance also.
Love it man but I hate the the props fall off pretty easily on rough landings or crashes
The props are extremely tight on the shaft. They cannot fall off. Not on these motors.
I'm pretty shocked by how well this flies.. How does it fly compared to the Tinyhawk? I've been flying that around a lot since Christmas
I actually tuned it today. It flies significantly better still
Way faster than TH
Need a 2s version, I used 2s brushed 8520 motors and thoes same props and it’s a little beast
I'm in europe (Portugal) and theres not many options here, shipping from the US is faster but way more expensive...
Looks fun! Looking forward to seeing how you will improve upon this. Whoop revolution! 😎👍
wow very inspirating video.
is it possible to use my old 0603 19000kv motors for such a build?
this looks so crazy, a dream came tru
I've tried all sorts of motors since. See my newer videos on the topic. 1103 is the size you want.
Nice at least I can use my UR65 guts. As soon as the frame is available it's done.
Whoooo! I just want to say that I want one. Or two or three, but at least one.
These are probably way overkill but I'm building 1 with the BBB 0806 motors its going to b the moon dancer lol! Love your builds bro keep it up!
I would recommend an 1103 over anything narrower
Hey guys , i have a spare beecore board here and i wonder if i can implant that into the good old syma x5c ? Geared 8mm Motors , will brushed escs hold that
yeah should be fine
Oh good idea. I got one for when I was learning to fly drones, might have to convert it.
+Aaron FPV I did it today but could only try it inside so far works like a charm tho and its pretty ffunny .
Was my first quad too😁
@@peterzingler6221 nice!
Nice... since I buy a whoop (UR65) I am wondering if I will still fly my 5" on the long term... Thoses whoops cost like nothing and they are very durable...And mostly I do need to drive 20min to a spot....But be aware that those prop cut skin like butter.. I get several scratches on my arms and fingers... will not happy to have in my face even a low speed
I have design something similar board below the frame and cam on top fix on a tpu mount (USe tpu like spring to fix the postion of the cam).. The tpu mount comes quick heavy
Did you increase tge speed of the video at the beginning?
Dude... flying through those palm trees (in Santa Monica, I assume) is exactly like flying through those towers in the original star wars arcade game...oh the memories...
Thats awesome for 1s. Where the frame from?
@Kebab FPV Nice man! Bring on that frame, been waiting for a decent frame for a parts donation from my Snapper 7. Cheers!
That thing looks amazeballz
Hey,
I‘m still rather new in the hobby, so sorry for maybe asking a stupid question 😅
I have a betafpv 75x lying around. Do you think the props will work on that? 🤔
1102 Motors and 2s
Yes that will transfer on to this frame great but the 65mm props won't fit the default beta frame
Ok, in that case you really need to get going with your frame production 🤔😉😘
nice one dude! would love to hear more about it with the 08 motors
merry christmas to you and your family
What is the flight time you get? Indeed with the other 1S it’s like 2-3min Nax and this is soooo short!
With the 2S, time gets better :)
It's about 2-5min. Plenty long. Really quick to swap batteries
Cool Quad...gotta get one!!
Glad you're committed to this hobby, great work.
still working on it
Todayi1itall when they get loose run a piece of dental floss through the hub and keep on a truckin. It will fit like new.
I was going to stick with 5'' but this looks like it going to be a very promising market for 2019.Can't wait to build one myself.more flight time means more practice more fun.And yes crossfire with some 600 mah batteries would be insane.I will be waiting and watching.550 mah on mob7 gets me 6 1/2 min flight already would love to just transfer it to see if I could get close to 11 min flights . Love the vids Thankyou.
I'm working on it as fast as I can
love it i built one out of my betafpv meteor 75 lite brilliant video followed
