- Thanks for checking out our Pantera reaction. Sleep is an interesting song that will never get old. Some of us are stuck in a deep sleep while others nod off periodically. Sleeping can be defined in many different ways so it also depends on your interpretation.

Damn, I forgot how epic this guitar solo was. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Top 10 Darrell solo
Dime forever
It's his best one!
@@integrity101 top 5
@@puppetmaster8551
Probably. 4 i always think of are...
We'll Meet Again
The Sleep
Cemetery Gates
Floods
He's got a lot though. Heart Worn Highway, Hard Lines Sunken Cheeks, Goddamn Election, Moment Of Truth & Soulbleed would also be towards the top for me.
You should react to "Pantera - I'm Broken" or "fucking hostile"! i think Lex would love them for the agression and intensity! Love your reactions guys
By Demons be Driven, Mouth for War, Shedding Skin, Great Southern Trendkill, so many more. 🤘
@@michaelshervo4040 also "The Art Of Shredding".
I think Shedding Skin might contain the most interesting lyrics for them to try to interpret; what do you think?
Phil Anselmo had an amazing voice back then. But all the screaming early in their career hurt his voice IMO. Dime on guitar was ABSOLUTELY amazing. He was asked to judge guitar completions when he was young because the people in charge were tired of him winning every time. His brother Vinnie Paul on drums was great. His drumming is still influential to this day. Rest In Power to both metal gods Dime & Vinnie.
That and all the drugs and shit Phil did absolutely destroyed his voice. How bout some voice in that gravel bahahaha
Don't forget Rex, he is an amazing bassist
@@gUtted25 agreed 💯💯💯 one of the most underrated bass players ever, imo he was just over shadowed by Dime way to much. But honestly most bass players are the least noticed in a band, except for Nikki Sixx, and he was probs one of the worst bass players ever hahaha, still love the guy though Crue was my fav.....until I heard Pantera and Slayer that is
@@gUtted25 totally agree.
Imo the best vocals of Anselmos career were 1994-2009
That lex smile when the metal hit
Everytime lol
Love how she lights up, when the songs groove kicks in.
You guys have got to do 5 Minutes Alone by them! It's A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!
The story behind that song! A 17 year old kid gets destroyed in a Pantera mosh pit and his dad says to the lawyers "I just want 5 minutes alone with that singer," and everyone was all "no... No you don't"
Yes definitely!!!
Couldn't agree more. A must🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I vote for them ALL lol
Oh for fucks sake YES!
Ya"ll should try Revolution Is My Name next
You guys should react to…
Pantera - Hollow
🎸🤘
Pantera- I’m broken 🤘🏼🤘🏼 official video
DAMN! Ya'll are digging in deep. Gotta say, when Lex lights up, no matter how many fuckin times ya have heard that song, you're going to enjoy it more! That energy! Then when Brad finally lights off, ya know ya gotta banger... Ya'll are awesome! PLEASE DO A LOT MORE METAL. You've given this old ass metalhead (since 84) reasons to re-energize and enjoy it like it's new.
I have yet to see Brad "light off" lol. His lady is single-handedly carrying these reactions.
@@nicolasvillamil7523 then you haven't seen their other reactions, and you're simply seeking a place at r/niceguy with that punk snarky comment. You're one of those keyboard warriors who's gotta say stupid shit from the safety of a keyboard.
True that brother.. These two are awesome
Do This Love or Floods for some of the best Pantera vibes.
Also, long shot but The Contortionist - Reimagined is right up yalls alley with trippy subject matter, real groovy too
This Love is so good as well as Floods
Pantera: IT MAKES THEM DISAPPEAR 👊🏽
This is the BEST Dimebag solo ever. I could cry every time I hear it, it’s so fucking good.
probably one of his best solos , they dont make him like he did anymore.
I agree. It's full of feeling. All those bends are so perfect that almost break me in tears everytime I listen to it. It's simple, but infinitely perfect. Thousands of times superior to any 100 mph shredding Dagonforce-like solo.
I Miss Dime
@@TWANDTW yea , and the smothness of is change of pace is something that i think most of the others bands love about him and thats why they offer him to play in so many bands!
You guys NEED to do “I’m Broken”. That’s my go to song whenever I need my Pantera fix.
By Demons be Driven, Mouth for War, Shedding Skin, Great Southern Trendkill, so many more. 🤘
Phil would be proud that you are putting all this thought into his lyrics
a halloweeny tune by Pantera is Avoid The Light, put on the list =)
Lex i love how you are a metal head!!!!
She is!!! I love that she has so open mind
Every Pantera album gets heavier as it goes, Vulgar Display of Power is their next one. "Mouth For War" is on a whole different level. 🤘
You could say, a new level 🤪
I'd like to see a reaction to Mouth For War.
Hands down my favorite solos.
I really like lexs theory for this song. I’d be lying if I said I even put much thought into this songs lyrics. Killer stuff!
This song takes me back 14 years old alone in my room listening to music. I love this band so much
Got me through high school and college
Pantera and Metallica were my top 2 bands at 14 years old. Megadeth would follow.
Pantera's Primal Concrete Sledge live, 5 Minutes Alone, Good Friends & a Bottle of Pills, so many greats by them. Also, does anyone think Lex is ready for some SLAYER!!?
Ooohh yeaaah!!
Slayer is trash lol
The best solo ever including everything! ❤
Youshould listen to no good/attack the radical by pantera
Try the Alice In Chains Rabbit Hole. They have a huge catalog and fan base. Love your reactions
They’ve done multiple AIC songs but I’m still waiting for them to do something from unplugged, like down in a hole unplugged or something. Glad they’ve at least done a few from AIC tho. One of the best bands ever.
I swear it feels like my heart stands still during the second half of this guitar solo every time I hear it.
5 Minutes Alone
So damn good!!🎸🤘
5 Minutes Alone next!! 🤘🤘
First time I heard that solo it was immediately put into my top 10 silos all time. Dime was one of the greats.
Pantera was Phil Anselmo on lead vocals, Rex Brown on bass, Vinnie Paul on drums ( R.I.P.) and his younger brother Dimebag Darrell on lead guitar ( R.I.P.) Pantera was from Ft. Worth, Tx except Phil being from New Orleans. Darrell was a huge Kiss fan growing up so maybe a stem or branch on how Lex described the crypt feel. Darrell was buried in a Kiss coffin also.
That opening was Soooo Randy Rhoads. I thought I was hearing Diary of a madman from Ozzy Osbourne for a few seconds lol
I must give respect to you kids. I think you're the only reactors that I've seen tackle the Sleep. Hope you enjoyed it.
One of the greatest solos of all time.
Came for heavy metal reaction, stayed for cerebral free thinkers.
Omg Lex you are so insightful an spot on. PANTERA is the truth. Watching you with you eyes closed feeling every note of Dimes solo. You get it . So fucking great.
I'm so glad you guys are enjoying this! ❤
Lex NAILED it in her interpretation of The Sleep... great job, you gorgeous woman... most people wouldn't pick up on that. Certainly not so early in the song.
I think the way to appreciate the guitar solo's would be to see them playing it live, to show you this is sheer skill. Cause I get the feeling you think this is more engineered music rather then pure skill.
This is my shower song. I blast this every time I’m in the shower
Cowboys From Hell was Pantera coming out of their glam days, they start to get serious with Vulgar Display of Power. Far Beyond Driven is when they solidified their spot at the top of the heap, as the Kings of metal. I would suggest Slaughtered, Walk, Five minutes Alone, Shedding skin, The Underground in America and basically every one of their songs.
They already were serious with this album, they just became even more serious and heavy after, it’s not like vulgar was the beginning of them being serious.
Hell to the yeah with I’m Broken!!! That’s an adrenaline shot!👇👇official video version
You guys should watch the movie “they live” it’s exactly what she’s talking about
Put the damn glasses on!!!
@@joepaskowski9091 Keith David: no…. Back alley wrestling match ensues
I come here to chew bubble gum....
You are the first of my reaction people to do the song and I have requested it dozens of times!!! This is his absolute best solo of all time. Thanks for recognizing it!
Interesting choice for your 3rd Pantera song, but no complaints here. You really can't go wrong with Pantera. Lex, Dimebag always comes through with that solo. Lol
5:27 that was music from heaven!!!!
Nice to see a reaction to this. It's one of Pantera's most underrated songs and has one of Dime's best solos.
One of the greatest guitarist to ever live! RIP dimebag
Funny to mention a crypt. Cemetery Gates music video has a shortened, 5: 47-second version without the conclusion and it was included on the soundtrack of the 1995 film Tales from the Crypt Presents Demon Knight.
You really need to review the songs Walk an This Love, from Pantera those are their so called hits
They reacted to Walk yesterday. As a fellow Pantara fan it is something to appreciate.
The best guitar solo in the fcking universe!!!!!!
RIP Dime! I'm pretty sure he was born with a guitar in his hands... He was definitely buried with one
For me Pantera's to do songs u havnt done: cowboys, walk, 5 minutes, rise, mouth of war
@4:22 and the lines she dropped afterwards.... PURE F'N MESSAGE!!!!!! Cheers fam! good peeps recognize good.
Lexx ,u r so on point and I love ur feeling to the beauty that is PANTERA
You guys should react to "I'm Broken" "mouth for the war" BUT MOST DEFINITELY "New Level"🤘🏻
Loving the Pantera reactions! I remember buying this cassette when I was I grade school. Phenomenal album, any song off this album is killer!
Dime's tone is always so brutal. Love it. Y'all make a good team. Keep going , it's been great so far. SOLO badass. Excellent.
Pretty cool to see this deep cut get a reaction
Hell yes!! One of my favorites from them!
The art of shredding next please!! Totally underrated
Halloween song! I love it. That is a perfect categorization name for one of the many prophetic musical lanes that Pantera frequently drive in. The pinnacle of which is a few years and albums down the road in a stunning musical masterpiece called “Floods”; which features arguably Dimebag’s all time most gorgeous guitar solo work. Do the official music video for the “Cowboys from Hell” song. That’s more of Pantera’s groove metal fun lane. Keep on the Pantera groove. You’ve only had a small taste so far!
I definitely understand where you are coming from with the whole "Halloween vibe" thing, cowboys from hell (that album) definitely has that Vive for sure. From Vulgar Display of Power (their 2nd album) onwards their music is more of a "fuck you" attitude and their music delves more into empowerment, bashing the media, Phil's drug problem's etc. Their music in general after the first album just gets heavier and heavier
They're called power groove metal 🤘🤘
One of the best songs ,i took alot if bong hits to this song . Badass solo !
Good pick guys @
If you guys wanna be blown away by crazy complex guitar work, listen to "Revolution is my Name" Dime was in his bag on that one!
Great choice🤘 It's been a long time since I heard this one🤘
Lex nailed it. Keep up the great work!
I love how she reacts and move his head at the rhythm and also smile when she listen the music, he does'nt seems to enjoy it so much but its okay maybe is not his kind of music... 🎶🎶🎶
Strength Beyond Strength by them has the halloweeniest solo around 🤘
I’m a huge Pantera fan have been since cowboys from hell album but it’s been so long since I heard this song it’s one of the greatest songs they’ve done I can’t believe it’s been this long since I’ve heard it
Can't believe I haven't seen it mentioned. The Art of Shredding is one of my all time favorites by these guys. Highly recommend it if you come back around to them
The Brilliance of Dimebag.. Rest in Power Brother, your legacy lives on 🤘
One of my hometown favorite bands from back in the day. "I'm broken" is another good one.
“We’ve got to live through this struggle and decaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy”
Lexi, just to add to your intuition of the cryptic/Halloween vibe you felt. Phil Anselmo founded The House of Shock in New Orleans, La. It was a major Halloween attraction in the 90s and 2000s. I no longer live in New Orleans. I can attest that The House of Shock was an AWESOME thrill to experience. One year they had "Priests of the Black Arts" that would greet you upon entering. They never spoke directly to you, they just chanted as you followed them into the next stage.
Another great reaction!!!! Thank you both!!!
Wow you guys are awesome, glad I found you.
I’m a huge Pantera fan since I was a kid and I love how much you love them. A few of my favorites I think you’d appreciate, “Strength Beyond Strength”, “Im Broken”, anything off The Great Southern Trendkill like “13 step to nowhere”, “Suicide Note parts 1&2”, “Sandblasted Skin”, etc. appreciate you guys ✌️❤️
"Satisfyingly Choppy" in metal is called Groove Metal. Pantera were, more or less, the pioneers of Groove Metal. When compared to Thrash Metal (Metallica), which focus on aggression and speed, Groove metal is slower and focus on a heavy sound. Its more to it, but this is the basic. If you are interested you should check up more on the different Metal genres.
I know this is seems like a really minor thing to point out, but it's THrash metal and not Trash metal :-D
@@njldst2007 Yes...auto correct 🙄
Pantera - We'll Meet Again
So damn good too!!
On that song the solo hits damn good!!🎸🤘
LOVE YOU GUYS !!!!!!
Just discovered your channel. I love seeing people becoming metal heads that come to the realization that it is not just noise. You two should check out Ice T's metal band Body Count. They have some heavy stuff and do a great cover of "Raining Blood" by Slayer. Slayer is some heavy stuff and I look forward to you folks checking them out. Everyone and I mean everyone suggests "Angel of Death" or "Raining Blood" but I like to go against the grain and would recommend "South of Heaven" as a starter or "Ghost of War" which is much faster but is one of my favs. Cheers folks and enjoy the ride!
I like watching your reactions Pantera been my favorite band since i cant remember when. I feel every solo that is plays tells its own story. If the solos and guitar what draw you in watch a guy named jeff healey especially his all along the watch tower cover
This is my favorite from Cowboys🤠!
That solo.
It's one of the greatest that takes me back to 1990 when this album came out.
When I was in love with a girl, who's brother looked up to me at a little league ballpark & it still takes me back to that time. 😢
This song was actually written for a vampire movie.
Surviving sleep, is surviving the night time when the vampires come out to play
Oouuuh that makes so much sense
Holy clap! Y'all responded! Well that makes you guys my nee favorite TH-cam personalities. Keep rocking on, and exploring strange new musics!
I dare you to listen and do a reaction to Pantera's "Slaughtered". You wouldn't even think they're the same band
This was the first album where they moved away from the glam side of metal/rock that they began with and started to enter the "power groove" feel that made them such an iconic band. They cranked it up another notch on the next album, Vulgar Display of Power, which was heavy from start to finish.
Pantera - Mouth For War, and This Love
This is my favorite dimebag lead. Wow you guys rule!!!
first nice reaction...second metal like blues has roots in lower class societies meaning a lot of the forefathers of metal came from big steel industry cities in england and made its way over here( black sabbath, led zepplin, judas priest, iron maiden etc.). and back in the day metal was the scurge on society. i was one of these people and looked down on becuase i listened to metal, i'm 53 now and still listening to it and amazed at these reactions, lol... anyway...sorry...but yeah i learned from college professor about the Prussian education reforms and how people conspire that the education system was a way for the aristocracy to control the population by using education system to teach us a certain way of life. so spot on. and damn the man....lastly pantera is from texas, all that needs to be said.
Awesome reaction!!! Please react to Metallica "Wherever I May Roam "! Thank you so much! Love the way Lex's face lit up with a huge smile just as soon as the heavy riff played!!!
Lol the bro was hypnotised and the sis was rocking.
By way of little ol' New Zealand 🇳🇿 awesome reaction to this song hahahahaaa, 2 cool guys.
WOW! With the "halloweeny"-reference, Lex just 100% nailed one of Pantera's main influences, especially around that time, King Diamond. She definitely feels the music, awesome!
For me Pantera's subtext is dark, darkened righteous soul's explaining human pain, they do this so well, RIP Dime Bag, skol!!
Speaking of Halloween, sounds like it’s time for some King Diamond… 🤘🏼
I think Vinnie was a big Dallas Cowboys fan too, when the Dallas Stars won the Stanley Cup in '99 the team partied at Darrell's house with Darrell and Vinnie
My favorites from Pantera.3#psycho holiday,2#Becoming,1#primal concrete sledge
Dime will always be my fav metal guitarist
Lol Halloweeny love it... I always thought dimes guitar playing was haunting
Yes haunting and and phill screams like a demon
Great to see another Pantera reaction! Nice breakdown of the lyrics and it's meaning. I would recommend "Floods" very fascinating emotional expression, a personal favorite. If you want another that is "lit". Try "Cowboys from Hell". It basically put them on the map.
