I have got a question. In my book it is written that the compliance decreases with age because the elastic fibers are being substituted by collagenous fibers... I am a little confused now.
Why do they have high-priced over technical books that never use examples like this? Its as if the literary world has convoluted teaching world. THANK YOU FOR THIS SIMPLE, TO THE POINT EXAMPLE!!!!!!!!
@delena fan it is couse like it is described in this video when the elastic fibers are changed for collagen fibers u have more likely to have low compliance (like water bottle) so u have to put more energy to distend the alveoli .
at the begining of inspiration...surface tension should be low...it would be much easy to inflate...as the conc. of surfactant is high that vl reduce surface tension....any plz xpln

No. Because to inhalate, you need more negative pressure to ensure the air go in to the lungs
