My dad bought a brand new 1952 super C, was my 1st tractor to drive also, dont let these little tractors fool you, they have a lot of power & are durable as could be, to this day it will start just like it always has, it paid for itself many times ...great tractors..
That was the first one i drove also, my dad had a 52 i believe, he bought it brand new, my brother still has it & starts & runs great to this day, that is one durable handy tractor, had a lot of power for how small it was...
my friend has a 1952 Super C at my place, used mainly for mowing with a WOODS L306 6 foot belly mower on it :) Edit - 2 years later: well, after I've driven the Super C a few times, it's a very nice tractor. very user friendly. every time I use it, I check the oil, coolant, and gas. of course the C has had it's issues but they've all been overcome and she runs great. next year, I'm gonna grease all the grease points and sharpen the blades on the mower deck. I may even try to check the fluid in the gearbox. reliable tractor for mowin' stuff! Another Edit, 3 years later - The Super C has managed to pull a 17-year-old tree. It's also managed to pull my friend's forklift which was stuck probably 6 inches into the ground out. I tell ya, that Super C can PULL! thing dug ruts into the ground while trying to pull that forklift. After a position readjustment, The Super C was able to take that forklift out of its spot. Horsepower don't mean much when you've got a good amount of torque!
The first tractor I ever drove was a 1953 john deer in 1953. I was six and drove it through the barnyard gate, and it seemed difficult to steer through the wide gate. narrow front wheels that steered easily even for a six year old, but was so BIG. Can remember the first 730 diesel, and it was so easy to drive and powered itself through dips because you never had to add throttle, it did it by itself.
Super C must have been a popular starter tractor. It was the tractor I learned to drive on too!!! I'd love to have one again, 50 some odd years on. Gotta be a narrow front though, same as the we had. No idea the year, so would settle for any and say, "Sure, that's it." LOL Wonder if I still remember how to tie a string to the governor to increase the road speed?
This discussion board claims that the c came without water pumps. and the the c had straight brake pedals and the Super C had curved brake pedals. www.ssbtractor.com/wwwboard/view_all.cgi?bd=farmall&msg=8602 also www.yesterdaystractors.com/cgi-bin/viewit.cgi?bd=ttalk&th=7797. Interesting that yours had water pumps.

4 oz. of Marvel Mystery Oil per 10 gal. of gasoline makes today's fuel as good as the old day's fuel.
Super C had a water pump unlike the C.
That doesn't make any sense, all regulars and supers we had, they all had water pumps
That's what I read on other sites. Supposedly the Supers had disc brakes instead of band brakes too.
@@clockguy2, yes supers have discs instead of bands, the bands seem to work better, but they all had water pumps
