- Tribute to Jonah Lomu by '95 World Cup winning captain, Francois Pienaar, filmed shortly after the sad passing of this giant of the game of rugby. Francois was a close friend of Jonah, and this is a message straight from his heart! Filmed and sent to New Zealand for the memorial service at Eden Park.
Ruben Kruger, James Small, Chester Williams, Joost Van der Weisthuzen and Jonah Lomu all from the 95 World Cup Final all sadly passed away. R.I.P to them All!

I was just telling my brother, that we're fortunate to have been born in a time where we could witness some of the greatest players ever. Jonah Lomu will be spoken of for millennia. In a thousand years, people will still watch videos on him.🙂.

I still remember when the springboks first came back to NZ after their rugby exile. The springboks played the all blacks but Michael jones wasn’t in the starting lineup, Jones was on the bench and when Jones finally got subbed on, Francois took the moment to go to him and shake his hand. Great respect.
What a wonderful and respectful man. My dad has met Francois Pienaar and he was gracious enough to sign a rugby ball in my name when I was in hospital recovering from major surgery. I will always be grateful to Francois for that.

Only just found this by accident. A truly heartfelt tribute from one of Rugby Unions truly great players and captains to the games sadly missed greatest player. It got a bit dusty here while I was watching it.

@Jon Doe s.a team didnt know, but the staff did. we should have delayed the game a day or 2, we were sick as dogs, spiked water and food.
