Hey there random viewers, if you are looking for an alternative to "Bat pins". Any hardware store has 1/4"-20 Socket head cap screws and 1/4" wing nuts. If you have larger bats you may have to use 5/16"-18 Socket head cap screws and 5/16" wing nuts.

What do you do about bat chatter? I notice my bat sometimes moves when I center and then there is a wobble in my clay that I wouldn’t have if I wasn’t using a bat. What… am I doing wrong?

Thank you. No one ever told me about the issues over time of the clay build up.

I successfully used a bat last month for 2-3 pounds bowls. Today, both pieces I was working on pulled off the bat partway through. One moment, they were nicely centered and stuck down, the next they were sliding off into the pan like skaters on ice.
    Any advice would be appreciated.

I love your videos! And the way you talk, it’s entertaining, fast and efficient 🤩 question? Your bats are made of?

Do I still need to wire my plate off the bat or will it come off itself as it dries?

You should do a video on how to throw a pitcher. You should also include what you glazed it with and the final product.

I bought my wheel used and the bat pins were completely fused with the wheel head. Now I can pretty much only through with a bat =/

I've been trying to find a tutorial on throwing a double walled pot like the Icheon pots that have carvings piercing through the outer layer. Would you happened to be able to give a tutorial on that technique or have info on where to find instruction regarding that?

Do you have any suggestions for getting those blue bats off the wheel more easily? I’m trying to throw plates and bigger bowls, and when I try to remove the bat the piece ends up distorting because the bat is gripping the bat pin really tightly. Thanks!

I work in a shared studio, and out of all the bats in the place not one work on the wheel that I use. So I made some out of canvas and attach them with clay.

I’m guilty of using a bat for a small bowl, but in my defense I threw 6 plates after and the pins were already in...
