Hey Kristian, i'm phoneflipping from germany. The Problem here is that the people are very stingy and less ready to negotiate. Also they dont wanna pay that much for used phones. Do you have any recommendations?
Yeah, I'm in Europe and I know many people, especially the Germanic countries, always think they can get 90% of their money back on second hand things they sell. I've seen second hand phones and laptops on auctions sites for not much less than new price. So I imagine this business would be way harder than USA but maybe not impossible. I'd be surprised if you could make 10k Euros a month in Germany easily. The cheap phone supply isn't there in a large enough quantity.
eBay is massive in Germany same as the UK. Sell there - also running paid ads is the trick to winning in Germany, I helped someon else get set up there
Do you buy carrier locked iPhones? A lot of good deals on those but not sure if I should stick with only unlocked. Also have you ever had someone sell you a phone then report it lost/stolen? That is my biggest fear in doing this business.
Doing this in Nigeria is almost impossible majorly because there's no facebook marketplace where you can just go and get people trying to sell their phones and jiji which is similar to ebay here is just filled with store owners wanting to sell their phones so similar prices
Isn't selling phones tough regardless? I have an iphone and it has SOOO MANY technical issues. Start by selling a few cheap items so you can get some good reviews. scammers will leave you alone if you have some good feedback and wont go for cheap stuff.
There's def scammer out there posing as buyers so you need to be careful. Iphones are some of the most scammed items on Ebay (and elsewhere) due to their high prices. Good to have your guard up when selling them. Look at the buyers feedback. Though some people use fake feeback, list in your description that you film the putting your phones in the mailers so they can't claim it wasn't recieved (included tracking when shipping it out). This can cut down on scammers threatening negative feedback or demanding a refund and if needed gives video evidence to Ebay customer service that the phone was shipped out in working condition. Also don't ship internationally or to domestic addresses using freight forwarding services if you're in the US or UK. If I see a buyer using a freight forwarder I cancel the order honestly.
