As a Paramedic a few years ago I attended 2 vax injured patients on the same day. One a 6 year old boy who had developed hydrocephalus and epilepsy and also an 80 yr old lady, slim, fit previously playing golf who became virtually bed ridden with sores in her mouth and pain in her abdomen and private parts. Heart breaking

He was against giving babies and children a huge viral load of multiple shots over and over that overwhelms a tiny system. He also found research they omitted when presenting research that left out how it was engineered to specifically target, or have the worst effect, on black male babies and children. If you can find the docu, The Silent Epidemic, it goes into detail and presents solid evidence.

I noticed the same thing too, all across medias. CNN used to report real news too and do investigative journalism. So did CBC in Canada. I came across a health article saying that flu stats were way over inflated and based on faulty models (hmm faulty models that get the world to overreact, sounds familiar). You would never see an article like that anymore, because it's obvious that over inflating flu and flu deaths is a great fear incentive to get people to get that flu vax that barely works.

@@saintejeannedarc9460 Indeed, part of it is because in the 1980s on CBS we had people like Bill Moyers who would investigate the evil and corrupt CIA. In 1977 the New York Times reported a piece on the global propaganda network the CIA had, but today they are actually invited on TV as pundits. Hahaha, here is a guy who is a spook, he is taught to social engineer and he gets invited on a news network to give his opinion. While Wakefield has the right to defend his view, I am concluding most of the people on here, including you are taking this 2009 interview and using it as availability heuristics to make conclusions about the COVID-19 vaccine. To be honest, why would CBS want to interview a disgraced researcher who has a history of siding with the anti-vaccine people? Also, most people didn't even read his study. I did. What he is telling the truth on from that interview is that it is about interpretation. He states that the report did not say it proves MMR vaccine causes Autism Spectrum. That part is TRUE. It does not say that. However, what he failed to mention was in the study it does in fact say that they found over 50% of the children (sample of 12), were observed with bowl and other digestive issues, and later were observed having behavioral issues after taking the MMR vaccine. And we now know Wakefield is an anti-vaccine advocate. And since not one person has been able to replicate his findings, we have to conclude Wakefield committed researcher bias.

@@christophergreen4616 Ridiculous conclusion. I read his research paper as well. I also studied nutrition, which has a special emphasis on gut health, so I immediately recognized his conclusions about gut flora in some made them extra susceptible to the MMR vaccine. He in no way fudged his data. Pharma is extremely powerful. His study was peer reviewed and accepted by the Lancet, which is pretty much the gold standard of medical journals. His peers understood what a hot potato taking on big pharma was and questioning their haloed vaccines. I'm not going to get into how bizarre I find vax worshipers, the true believers who seem to make a religion out of a brilliant on the one hand medical technology, but also excessively dangerous when it goes wrong medical therapy, to which one size is supposed to fit all. And the damn things are mandated and forced on people in ever increasing amounts. Some of us have some sense and perspective on how reckless and unrealiistic that is. Yet you mention anit vaccine people like it's a hex, the most insulting thing a person could be. It's like a spell or a religion really. Most of us that rightly, realistically question vaccines (and some far more than others, such as the extra risky MMR) we want vaccine choice first off, but we want much higher standards of vaccine safety. Pharma is deadly dangerous and will stop at nothing to keep its profits as high as possible. Its baffling the only conclusion you can draw is the Wekefield was wrong, not the pharma IS Wrong and their vax is dangerous. Why did no one replicate the study? How naive. They made an example out of his. He was top of his field, had won awards, and now he had his license stripped. All for trying to help horrifically vaccine damaged kids and their desperate families.

His position on vaccination changed gradually over a period of years, partly due to his further research on MMR and autism, but mainly due to hearing the accounts of many parents describing their children's vaccine injuries. He also continued studying the history of measles and the history and effects of the measles vaccine. With as many studies as there are that have proven there is no correlation with vaccines and autism holding onto this one that does seems pretty desperate and naive, especially when the dude who authored it plainly states the authors who redacted their statements wanted to redact the misguided assumption that vaccines cause autism. People will believe what they want to believe. Look at how many people believe the earth is flat today, kinda the same thought process. I'm not even saying vaccines are 100% great for you either as many chemicals and shit that are in them I'm sure they're probably at least mildly harmful (assuming you get them constantly which we don't really) but there is no proof that they cause autism.

@@Myth0x2 LOL, that's an appropriate handle. Most parents become pro medical choice after they or their child becomes ill or in some case dies. Did you even listen to the interview? The Pharmaceutical industry immediately went after him instead of doing actual research and true safety studies. There are NO double blind placebo studies because the vaccines are not safe. There is too much money at stake. Now we have a huge amount of fear mongering regarding simple childhood illnesses. We are destroying the health of our younger generations to fill the pocketbooks of the Pharmaceutical companies. Also, we give around 72 doses by the time a child is 18. That's more than a little excessive. I was very ill after my last Tetanus which turned out to be a TDap and I was not told this. I only found out later when a nonmedical person said they do not make a separate Tetanus anymore. I had definite memory problems for awhile and my sometimes asthma became a full-time issue. If vaccines are so great then the vaccinated have nothing to fear from the unvaccinated. Hey, have you caught yourself up to the childhood schedule. If not you could be considered unvaccinated.😁

@@Myth0x2 Did you actually watch the video? It wasn't a study, it was a small group of children. They definitely had developed diagnosible health issue following the MMR. Having witnessed this in the children of friends I absolutely believe the MMR triggers this. Wakefield gave very reasonable recommendations that got him targeted. He did not go ballistic and say we shouldn't vaccinate at all, he just said there appears to be an issue with this combo vaccine that needs further study. The fear mongering comes from those who seem to think it was some miracle that humans continued to exist before vaccines. My children were fully vaccinated. They both have eczema problems, one has asthma and the other could not eat fresh fruit till she was in her mid 20's. The older one developed Steven Johnson Syndrome(very scary, look it up) in High School. She is only around today because by then I had embraced alternative healing. The Docs had no clue at all and gave her steroids that didn't help. That was our last visit to a conventional Doctor for that. When you can show me true double blind placebo studies that show vaccines are safe let me know. Good luck, they don't exist. What they do is test the vaccine with and without the antigen. Meaning the shots without the antigen still contain all the other ingredients like aluminum, formaldehyde, bovine serum, aborted fetal DNA. This is not a true safety test.

@@tlraffaele considering it was scientific research done by a group of doctors that was then published in a scientific journal (even though it has now been discredited) I'm going to call it a study. Feel free to call it whatever you would like the verbiage of it is trivial and not really the point. Something I think we should remember is correlation does not always equal causation, if you google "spurious correlations" there's a website that does a fairly good and kind of comical explanation of this with a few data points over some different graphs. Living systems are so complicated it's often difficult to pinpoint one thing as being the definite cause of a problem, usually there are multiple factors at play. Right now people are jumping to vaccines because it seems like a convenient answer and they're just relying on this one study to assert those claims. It would be like blaming the cleaning company's staff for things that go missing in your office when in reality a coworker forgot to return an item, and all of this is based off of another coworker's rumors at the water cooler. And if you really want to argue about the effectiveness of modern medicine compared to what we had prior I feel like you'll be fighting an uphill battle. Things like polio, mumps, smallpox, rabies, tetanus, any bacterial infection were all serious threats to life before we had measured against them, usually in the form of vaccinations (excluding bacterial infections I was mainly referring to antibiotics there). My frustrations with this issue is there are now large amounts of people going against centuries (the first successful vaccine was for smallpox in 1798) of scientific advancement because of one person's misguided claims. The fact that people blame every ailment they or someone they know has on it being the vaccine's fault also just reiterates they understand very little about how biological systems work. Like I said earlier saying something is definitely being caused by something else is a pretty serious statement that takes evidence beyond a reasonable doubt which as of now has not been produced.

I appreciate CBS News being willing to give Wakefield a voice to defend the charges "at that time". However, what many, many people fail to recall is that 12 co-authors were with Wakefield on this study. Also, the main issue that got Wakefield into trouble was not his "interpretation" rebuttal. That rebuttal is solid because the original article does say their findings does not prove MMR vaccine could cause Autism Spectrum. What got him in trouble was not one research study was able to replicate his results. And why in the world would 12 other researchers recant the whole study if they believed it was true legit science?
In science, replication is very important. If other researchers can replicate your results, that makes your case even stronger for the need to look into the effects of the MMR vaccine and a possible link to Autism Spectrum. When a researcher gets different results using different samples or a change in methodology, that's not bad and the original author can be honest and admit their theory has flaws. But, when no one can replicate your results, and other researcher mimic every procedure to the tee, and used a sample of children with the same symptoms; that's a red flag. Wakefield claimed in his observations of the children, over 50% of the children's bowl and other digestive issues and future onset of behavioral issues were observed weeks after taking the MMR vaccine. He suggests a possible association between MMR vaccine and Autism Spectrum and other possible behavioral issues.
The average layperson with no experience in research science will obviously interpret that as a legit concern. So, I don't blame the global concern. But, what I don't get is why still, a lot of people don't see some had to had ran foul in the methodology, or the data findings. Something like this should had been able to be replicated. That's what got Wakefield in trouble.

This was a case study. He and his co-authors were not testing an hypothesis. There has been no true attempt to replicate the findings of this study, but many studies since 1998 have shown the gut brain connection supporting the findings of the Wakefield Walker-Smith study. What got him into trouble was that he found that the safety testing of the MMR vaccine was horribly inadequate and, after the case study began, he agreed to testify as an expert witness on behalf of plaintiffs suing Merck, the maker of the MMR vaccine, because he saw how inadequate the safety testing had been. He was a David who went up against the Goliath pharma industrial complex and he was too naive to see it at the time. Rupert Murdoch a media giant had a son who was appointed to the board of Merck. Murdoch was the employer of Bryan Deer, the journalist who triggered and perpetuated the smear campaign after the study had been peer reviewed and published. There were no scientists or doctors who found fault with the study until that campaign was under way. People do not understand the depth of corruption in the scientific, media and medical industrial complexes and the lengths to which they will go to protect their product.

Less then a year before his controversial paper came out, Wakefield released a patent for a measles vaccine. So Wakefield patents a measles vaccine.
Then he conducts a study, and is told by some of the parents, "I think the first time I remember seeing symptoms of autism in my child was after the MMR vaccine." Apparently this must be reported on because untrained people kinda thought maybe a thing could have happened, and that's important scientific information. If some of them had said, "I think the first time I remember my child having symptoms of autism was shortly after fairies all sprinkled them with pixie dust," it apparently would've been scientifically relevant to report that. Then Wakefield goes on a crusade to convince parents that MMR will screw up their kids, but separate vaccines for these things (like Wakefield's) are totally cool. All in the interest of saving the children, of course.

Yes, it's good CBS News AT THAT TIME gave Wakefield his chance to give his side. Have you read the infamous retracted study? I did. While he is correct that he said their findings does not prove MMR vaccine causes Autism. The article does say over 50% of the children with the stomach and digestive issues who are later observed to experience behavioral issues a short period after taking the MMR vaccine. The real problem that got Wakefield in trouble stems from an important element of research science. Replication. Even with him saying his study should be an important discussion trigger on MMR vaccine, not one researcher was able to replicate his findings. What many people also fail to remember is there were 12 other authors on this study.
Why would 12 authors retract and recant the study if it was methodologically sound? Something had to be a miss. And why is it that still today-----no one researcher has been able to replicate Wakefield's findings?
