If you do that you have to reflavor a battleaxe as a sharpened wok spatula and your shield as a wok. I'm sorry I don't make the rules, I just enforce them **raises sharpened spatula menacingly**
Playing a Lizardfolk Giant Barbarian, I was originally gonna pick a feat for combat, but with Hungry Jaws and my tendency to devour creatures in combat because of it, I think Chef is perfect. Just go full Dungeon Meshi and cook up some monster meat for the party. Plus I can hand out treats made out of... undisclosed materials... to give some free healing to the squishy wizards and clerics. Just as long as they don't ask where I got them from.
Perfect timing as i am currently building one! I was thinking of taking Chef, my character is a Grey Wolf tribe lycanthrope who was taken away by the Wild Hunt as a child. There he was somehow transformed into wolf form permanently and grew up amongst the hounds, so he has been without cooked food for as long as he can remember and whenever his party teaches him about cooked food I plan on making him obsessed with it, and then eventually taking Chef to represent that.
@@DungeoneersPack I’ll wait for it and get new ideas. It’s funny, my Leonin Barbarian just die on today session for an untimely Nat 1. He’d be happy with all that features, I’ll miss playing with him
I had a Barbarian Chef for a game, yes he was a half orc Gordon Ramsay, named Gordy. He was path of the beast because you are what you eat after all. The end of the game he was given a restaurant called the Butchers Block. He also had a small army of warrior chefs that would help the queen of the land in battle and then make epic meals for the rest of the army, just don't ask where the meat came from. LOL
Your suggestions are all very good, and the previous comments add some others for inspiration. Allow me to add one that I didn’t see mentioned: Mobile. If, like me, you’re the only pure martial character in the party then Mobile is very useful for moving around the battlefield with (excuse the pun) reckless abandon. My Barbarian’s play style is to run to support/relieve one squishy companion after another, without worrying about opportunity attacks or difficult terrain. For flavour nothing is scarier than a bellowing Goliath who can dash 100ft in six seconds; it really counteracts opponents who look to Misty Step away - oops, not far enough buddy.
If your looking for some out of the norm picks for barbarian feats try these on for size. 1) Fell handed This lets you knock people prone with basically every attack you make, and a +1 to attack rolls with certain weapons. 2) Telepathic Good for role playing, and increases out of combat viability. 3) Shield master Evasion on a barbarian plus a bonus action shove is great, and works well with fell handed. 4) Healer Is good on any character, but given the barbarians survivability this works great in addition to giving a little extra healing once per long rest. 5) Ritual caster This is unexpected, however, you can still use ritual spells like find familiar, and unseen servant provided you cast them before raging in addition to giving you access to multiple other out of combat rituals which help the barbarian immensely.
I thought fell handed was UA. I like both your shield master and ritual caster recommandations as there are plenty very useful spells that you can learn and this gives you more social/utility options. A (ritual) spell that is fun for utility, social (need to move something for quest) and in combat (depends a bit more on composition) is tensers floating disk. Let someone with less movement/stealth stand on the disk and with your barbarian speed you can play taxi for them. 😊
I accidentaly stumbled upon this video and wanted to give some constructive criticism: -Sentinel and Great Weapon Master are probably the most common feats selected by barbarian players so there's no point on including them here as it's very unoriginal (now if this video is oriented towards newer players then it's ok) -Chef is a good idea and choice (it's incredibly synergistic for barbars in both gameplay and rp sides). Props for showcasing that one -Skill Expert is fine but it's a very general feat, I wouldn't include as much here as much as in a "top X interesting feats to spice up your character" kind of video -Orcish Fury is a bad bad feat and also restricted to half-orcs as the extra damage is, and I'm not exaggerating here, one extra damage die per short rest and one extra attack per long rest (as Relentless Endurance can be used only once per long rest) I recommend you go into more niche or obscure feats for synergistic ideas in your future videos, Besides that your editing and pacing are good so keep rocking!
Hey Josh, I'm kinda surprised that you didn't even mention the Alert or Tough feats as possibilities!! +5 bonus to initiative rolls and getting into combat sooner?!?! CHECK!!!!! 2 extra HP every time you level up?!?! CHECK!!!!! Thoughts?
I personally would take GWM before pumping STR as it adds power and flavor. The offset can be mitigated by reckless attacks and the rest of your party casting spells like bless or using bardic inspiration. If going the Polearm route, Sentinel and Polearm Master is where its at.
@@DungeoneersPack I played a barbarian with GWM and Polearm Master, and the GWM damage boost works with the extra bonus action attack from Polearm Master for a pretty serious boost. Those extra hits are another STR bonus + Rage bonus +10 +1d4 damage.
A racial feat Kalasthar mental discpilan with Bear totem perhaps? Good luck stopping that. Or for better crowd control another racial feat Dauntless Roar from Leonnens?
Ooo Barbarian Chef! Path of the Stovetop!

I love barbarians and I love interacting for the algorithm. Lets bump the video up the search results.
Thanks for the support Rich!

That sounds super sweet! Make sure you watch for hair in the food! 🤣
@@DungeoneersPack Considering how wolves groom I am not sure it would be a big priority for him. Much to the dismay of the party I am sure :)
Always a pleasure seeing your videos. Despite your little size, you always prepare and treating your channel big. And this I like.
Thank you! Glad you enjoy these vids! Only room to grow from here!
Haven't played a barbarian in a campaign yet, this make it more enticing to play
Would be great make more videos covering feats suitable for every class
That is the plan! Working my way down the list!

This was great brada the flow of the video with the art layered with narration combined with the music🤘
Thank you sir! I try!
I haven't gone barbarian in a long time. Need to consider a build now.
This was a super helpful video that I can't believe doesn't have more likes!

Chef barbarian is awesome.
Tough hands down but I understand why you did not put it in it's just as good for wizards as it is for barbarians
Tough with a barbarian basically gives you double the HP if you're a raging, bear totem barb taking anything other than psychic damage!

i play barbarian moon druid as a BarBEARian
Polearm master should've been here.
Which to do first? Pump STR or take Great Weapon Master feat?
For a Polearm Master build, take Great Weapon Master or Sentinel ?

If you think Barbs are supposed to be tanks, you've nevet played an mmo. Barbs are pure melee dps.
