  • It’s a cross between a woodworking bench and a workbench, combining the advantages of both, robust and plenty of storage space to keep tools handy. I'll also attach a cutting station to the bench, using a plunge circular saw.

The casters might support 1000kgs as a set but the fasteners won’t hold bc it’s screwed into the side edges of your plywood. It would have been better to use 2x4s or 4x4s for them.
I’m sure you know this but someone not familiar with wood working might not know this.

    Very nice.
One observation about woodworkers in general is, that most spend an inordinate amount of time buying tools , building their shop, buying more tools , improving their shop, buying more tools , making their shop larger , buying more tools etc. etc. 😳😂
When their spouses/partners ask when their new kitchen cabinets will be done , they are told , “as soon as my new sliding table saw from germany or Austria arrives . “

I just watched this entire workbench series without pause. This is undoubtedly one of the best engineered and executed workbenches ever. Elements of torsion box and butcher block with a cutting station and storage in one unit. Kudos to you sir. You have a new subscriber here!

Love your videos. In the States we were fortunate to get Phear clamps at Rockler stores. They had the normal ones and Rockler blue ones. If I’m glueing up a joint that isn’t closing these are my secret weapon. I did some hobby timber framing last year with 4x4s and they really saved the day when closing the last millimeter in my joints.

I watched this video and then watched it again. Really well done so I bought the plans. The plans are as detailed and clear as the video. Great attention to details in describing the build. I cannot say enough good things about this project and its designer. I really appreciate the modest set of tools used. No $275 T squares here. My build of this is going very well so far! Thank you.

Overall it’s a decent table. If you’re not using it for big heavy projects. Its gets unstable when using my jigsaw and handsaw. Table starts to shake and lifts off the ground. Maybe I’m doing something wrong? Also the folding mechanic works great th-cam.com/users/postUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh when setting up, but I can’t get the table to fold down. It gets stuck 3/4ths on the way down.

  • @PunkR0ckz09

    For anyone interested in making this workbench;
    It is an amazing workbench!
I have built mine to have a 4' x 8' 3/4 plywood top only with a circular saw and a handmade straight edge and it is extremely sturdy!
I used 6" lockable swivel casters that can hold up to 500kg each, and I have put them to the test! I used the bench as a construction scaffold to insulate my garage's ceiling and it wasn't even feeling risky with only a single 3/4 inch 4' x 8' plywood sheet on top.
Me and my uncle, we weigh over 250kg together and we were installing 3/4" plywood sheets on my ceiling, it also had a bunch of tools in the cabinets (I didn't make drawers or anything for now...) and it could've hold even more!
There was 2 drill presses, a planer, 2 jointers (4" and 6"), a spare circular saw, a compressor, a portable dust collector and a pen-turning lathe in the cabinets!
My only complaints are that I did NOT glue the cabinets to the main frame, because I didn't know if I would like the 4' x 8' footprint...and that I didn't add 2 more strips in between the workbench's top and the cabinet, it sags just a tiny bit because I am using only 1 sheet of 3/4" cheap plywood, I didn't want to use more than this to reduce the cost.
SO, If you're thinking of only using a 3/4" plywood top, please do yourself a favor and add at least 1 strip of vertical plywood on top of each sides of the 2 cabinets to reinforce the top!

This is a great design. I'd like to build something similar but with smaller cubes. I'd actually like to have the ability to separate each cube due to space constraints in my garage (a single cube might integrate a drill press, one a router table etc). You've given me some great ideas, and it'll be great to see how you integrate your machinery.

Really like this work bench. I plan on building one like it with the addition of putting my table saw in it. I have the Delta 36-725 model and the caster set up is terrible. I also love the cross cut feature and edge cut feature you've built in. This bench build will eliminate the need for a separate table saw, separate expensive cross cut table, and bring my large cuts up off the floor. I want to also install a router in it. Thanks for a brilliant design!

In this instance far more efficient that a fixed floor drill because you can move it around your job. this drill platform would be great for people like me who have a very limited amount of work space.
