I found that little funny-looking well up in the right hand corner- hit it- and a SPEED setting comes up. You can slow the video wasaaayyyyy down. That's what I have to do. 💖
This is a very good beginner friendly tutorial! I’ve been crocheting about almost a year now and get so agitated with speed up tutorials, the slow-motion was a big help! Love this simple and easy pattern!! Thank you!!!
Wow it’s fate! I bought this exact same yarn yesterday and have been scrolling through TH-cam for ideas to make my friend’s mom. My friend passed away in a particularly tragic way and I want to do something for her. These were his favorite colors.
Why I never found this Shaw or your channel till now is beyond me. I love this. It’s so light and airy! Terrific for summer dresses. I appreciate the video slowing down to show the stitch.!! Your tutorial is so easy to follow. Thank you for sharing!
I started my shawl tonight and it's coming together beautifully! I had some variegated greenish cotton yarn and I wasn't sure what to do with it. This is just perfect. Thank you for sharing your tutorial! xo
I like the way you get straight too it and you don't have unnecessary irritating music, and like all of us you make mistakes, but crochet is easy to correct. I am starting mine in white cotton today and probably a beige picot edging. Thank you. I have subscribed too👌🇬🇧😁
been looking for a easy shawl to learn and came across your vidio going to try this as dont realy understand patterns when i read them but can follow watching you ive managed to do a little bit and also can go back when i get confussed thank you
Hi Kristin! I'm a little behind in watching...I have been canning as much as we are harvesting from our garden...who has time for that when there is soooo many beautiful shawls to make lol!!! I love these borders, to me it's what sets apart your shawls from most. Have a wonderful day!
Cannot wait to get started on this and sharing it with someone in need! Thank you Kristin for all you do! Always giving to others and inspiring us to do the same🤗 I need 10 hands
Hi Kristin! I am also here from Shannon Talks Yarn 😊 I was already a subscriber, but have not seen your videos in my feed. Looking forward to making this shawl as a handkerchief scarf for Autumn!
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I want to recreate it to include 4 colors. How many rows did your shawl end up? I want divide the number of rows by 4 so each color has the same amount of rows. I hope that makes sense😅. Thank you again!
Hi lovely, this is a beautiful pattern, thank you for sharing and for the good work it went towards! I have a question please if you still read comments on this older video: by the first row my piece looked the same but by the second i had somehow made a rounded heart, as in the point of the triangle was very soft and the long side went diagonally to meet in the middle to form a wonky heart shape. Im using what looks slightly thicker yarn than yours (im still very new to crochet, i dont know weights yet😅) and a 6mm hook, im wondering whether i need to alter the pattern slightly to adjust for the difference in yarn size or if i made a mistake somewhere. I gave up after the first try as ive already tried a lot of failed other crochet projects today lol but ill try again soon with a clearer head. Do you have any tips for keeping a tight looking triangle instead of my too-round mess? Thanks! Edit for grammar
Welcome to my channel! You will find that changing hook size can dramatically change the look and feel of your crochet fabric. Experiment with looser and tighter fabrics to see what you like best. Also, washing your fabric will allow the yarn to relax if you are finding any puckering not intended in the fabric. If you are making mistakes and noticing them, then you are learning! Keep going, and you will get it :) xoxo, Kristin
I can't wait to make one of these. , I'm finishing my 2nd Luna first then I will start this one. I didn't see the color you are using in the description ? did I miss it. Lion Brand Mandala DK , I dud hear you say, but not the color. Happy Hump Day. Thank you for this awesome charity pattern 💜

I went into my settings and slowed down the speed from there. I did stop several times near the beginning to get details and check my work against the video. I started a shawl last night and I got several rows completed before bedtime. It doesn't look too bad for a first timer.
When you slow the speed on the video then speed it up makes me nauseated. I want to make this, I think your work is beautiful. Is there a written pattern I could use. I'm sorry, I don't know why I get sick maybe because my vision is impaired.

What hook size would you use to make this with a weight 3 yarn?
I would start with suggested size on yarn label and maybe go a little larger from there.
I'm making one for my mother using alize diva yarn and 3.0 m.m hook hope she likes it
Wonderful! Enjoy :) When you are done, you can share photos with me here: www.kristinomdahl.com/submit-your-project/
It's a very pretty shawl but when you do the picot at the end to finish its done to fast but other then that l do like the shawl.😅
Hi there. Please may I ask what the name of the yarn cake colour is please, I love it. Thank you. 😀
All the info is on the pattern page (link in video description)
Great video thank you so much
Glad you enjoyed it
Wow you zoom through this. Im going to have to slow it down as much as possible.
hi do you do three dc or two into the ring thanks
Looks like a Granny Stitch Shawl
I got the body of the shawl made and it is so beautiful but I absolutely cannot get the border even after 5 tries
I'd be happy to try to help you, but I will need a little more information :)
Hi Kristin how many rows did you do for your shawl. Thanks.
Follow link in video description for complete pattern instructions.
Is it necesary to do the pico
No
I Like it
What is the timeline average to make this
It depends on your skill level and speed. It is a relatively quick shawl pattern. And the larger yarn you use, the quicker it can be.
What knot did you use to attach the yarn to the hook?
Just a simple square knot. Some people prefer a slip knot. What ever works best for you.
So, it is not a top down? Surely it is a top up if you are starting at the bottom???🤗
Ooops my mistake, ignore my last comment, thank you 😙
The shawl is beautiful. Kristin thank you. But Lefthand 🙏 please
You got it!
Im so behind on watching .. this looks lovely.
Can we use 5.00mm to start if not having 6.5mm?
Sure, if you like the results you get with your specific yarn and hook size, you can make a top down increasing shawl with anything.

Hey I think I purchased this pattern but I don’t know how to get it to download. Can you help me please
It didn’t go though but something tried to for 1.99 and your pattern was 3.99
Wish you would have the instructions on the top
On the top of what?
❤❤❤❤
I bought the pattern for $4 but never received it in my email: when I tried downloading it, it tried to charge me another $10.....

You can control the speed on your end
You've had the ability on TH-cam to slow down videos for quite a few years now I'm pretty sure. Just slow it down on your end.
im missing something as not looking like yours at all even though ive ent back loads of times to watch
I think I need a super duper slow tutorial.
