      Trust me... He did not "clarify" anything. He is still upon this belief. Otherwise he would have clearly and categorically stated "I was wrong".

    I don't think Yasir Qadhi is wrong... his opinion is the same with modern scholars who is specialist in Quranic studies and Quranic history, like Gabriel Said Reynold and Mun'im Sirry, and may be many others. But the point is, yes.. the quran is not preserved as muslims believe. In my opinion, classical muslim's scholars might have "bias" when doing research and present their finding, because the circumstances at that time. We know, islamic law was very strict when it comes to public speaking and opinion. So, classical muslim scholars "cannot" say whatever they like when they found something, they didn't have a freedom (or what we call as "academic freedom"). However, in modern scholarship, that "line" is not exist... so, when something is not right or cannot be explained, they will ask very critical question. In the past, such privilege was not part of muslim culture...

      God say so in the quran that He shall preserve it (the quran). And, over the generations, it is preserved in its text or miraculously, by memorisation. What is YQ talking about? He didnt want to elaborate? No academic freedom?

    • @gondala
      @gondala หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@sethsuleiman4419 no it's not. it just an interpretation. Quran never say it clearly. It can be "dzikr" as it refers to Quran in lauh mahfudz, not Quran as a mushaf or book form. When you said preservation through memorization, that mean, you dont read the history.

      b. Quran is guidance from allah; revealed to prophet muhammad pbuh and written down as a mushaf (book form) by man.
