FYI, the rounded point you used is actually less effective for piercing compared to a pyramidal point or an angular cut like a hypodermic needle. It's about surface area. The rounded cone point actually increases surface area. A pyramidal point (like a bodkin) applied pressure at the corners and peels the material out of the way. An angled point like a hypodermic also focuses the pressure to a finer point and reduces the surface area allowing for easier penetration.

How long does it take to make *enough caltrops?

I could not honestly say - I never tried making more than what I did for the video and my time frame for that is a bit skewed as I was filming, stopping, trying another camera angle... but if you pre cut enough pieces, grind the points and make some sort of a fixture to bend them, you could knock them out fairly quickly. The welding is really what takes time, trying to keep the pieces from moving as you tack them. Perhaps a twist of bailing wire or some vice grip needlenose pliers would help.
Sorry I could not offer more information. Good luck.

@@Autonimous Not to worry, I'm running a fantasy campaign and was wondering how long it would take to secure a doorway using these (party is defending a tomb with a forge)
