I like paying for smaller ticket items in cash especially if it's a small business/vendor. When I'm paying in cash it feels like I'm rewarding myself from all my hard work because it triggers the mindful feeling that "I've worked hard for this". Paying in cash to small businesses helps them out because they don't get charged credit card fees and they can also pretend like the transaction never happened (if they choose too).
Me: I'm willing to do whatever it takes to get better with money! George: Step 1, track your expenses daily... Me: Oh, look at the time... I got that thing I need to get to...
Cash is actually worse because majority of people misplace, lose change and it ends up costing you more. As long as you pay card off every month, plus get additional reward points, it outweighs cash entirely. Unless you are someone with ZERO self control, going only cash will not save shit.
I'm reading the book and the investment portion was really good. I have a hard time with the car buying because my family buys new but keeps them forever with cash. This definitely echos whats in the millionaire next door though so this next car purchase in 2025 will be a little different
George be careful. Pushing your sponsors occasionally is one thing, we get it. But on TH-cam there's aways affiliate marketers doing the 'pitch fest', and it's annoying.
The way Ramsey Solutions plugs Everydollar annoys me. I wish they would openly say that they designed it when they plug it instead of saying they “personally use it.” If this is your first video you’d probably think it’s just their favorite app instead of one that the team designed.
My last purchases: Does my dog need this chew treat? ->She is half German Shepard, yes, I like my slippers and furniture unchewed😅 Does my dog need this new toy? -> Yes, see above; the other ones are rags and scraps and there is one proud dog sitting in the mess… But that said and done; I totally agree. For me one of the best ways to stay accountable is paying in cash and writing it down. It hurts so much more to hand it over and see it become less over the month and feels so much more rewarding to still have some money left over at the end of the month that you „Budgeted“ to be used for „…“. Feels kind of like winning…
I'm 51yrs old. $40,000 weekly and *I'm retired, this video have inspired me greatly in many ways that I remember my past of how I struggled with many things in life to be where I am today!!!!* ❤️
Same here waking up every 14th of each month to 210,000 dollars it's a blessing to l and my family... I can now retire knowing that I have a steady income❤️Big gratitude to Maria Frances Hanlon
George, I have a legitimate question for you - when making the comparison between cash spending and credit card spending, are debit card purchases included in that cash number or not? If not, I would be interested to be pointed to some research showing cash vs debit card vs credit card spending to get the full picture!
I don't have an answer for research papers, but I will say I have to use cash.. if the money is sitting in my bank account, I'll spend it. I have to distribute all my money at payday so I only have cash left.. the scarcity keeps me on track. Just one person's take.
Cash is King - When you pay with cash, you give the store cash and get the item you pay for - your cash is gone - this is more painful than paying with plastic - debit or credit card, because you hand them your card and you get the card right back, so you don't feel the loss like you would with physical cash. I like to feel the pain of paying with cash because it helps to keep my spending in check. Cheers!
I don't track expenses, but I do track my net worth. Last year my net worth went up about the same amount as my income. This year it has gone up more than my income. Index funds FTW.
Thank you for your videos George! Keep them coming!
Oh, and I bought your book. Great read!

We have two sponsors per episode. 1 minute total of ads. Relax.

What is worst?😕 Become obsessed with 💰 & piled as much as possible or expended 🚗 all and die broke?😢
Omg let me find out you are a fan of TLC and their Fanmail album!!
wow, you have tons of ads, way to go G.
George is the type of Guy to use coupons on a 1st date and I love it 🔥
Coupons yes...but what about a gift card?
I've used a coupon and the guy was laughing and loving it.

I'm thinking George is a TLC fan
George you should go 1 million $ into debt just to give us a live demonstration of you’d destroy it using the baby steps 👀
Baby steps aren't for million dollar debts, bankruptcy is😂
@@OppDoc fair point 😂
@@OppDocbaby steps are for any debt as long as you have the income 🤷🏾♂️✊🏾

Hello how do you make such?? I'm a born Christian and sometimes I feel so down myself because of low finance but I still believe in God
It's Maria Frances Hanlon doing, she's changed my life.

I do know Ms. Maria Frances Hanlon, I also have even become successful....
Absolutely! I've heard stories of people who started with little to no knowledge but made it out victoriously thanks to Ms. Maria Frances Hanlon.
Thanks for another great vid George!

Don't get caughtup in the "gotta know more" loop because it only will give you overwhelm. It's the last thing anyone needs is more overwhelm.😊

@vintagecrazyjay4970 Tell that to my wife. Her mentality is if we pay in cash, it's free because it doesn't show up on our bank statements 😂
I like your videos but they are becoming more like one continues commercial for your sponsors 😞
I don't see what's wrong with sponsors especially if the sponsors are somewhat related to finances and his brand.
Agreed, it's becoming very annoying
It does feel like too much.
These jokes are the best. I’m so glad I’m around the same age as George. No scrubs!!!
Kamel Kamel Kamel!!!

George is hilarious ; I'm guessing he wrote this script himself.
Another great video bro!! I'm liking your dad jokes
Amazing video. Thank you!
I guessed $200 on amazon in the last 3 months. Actual was $189. Yay me
Why you gotta do my tent dirty like that?
I don't track expenses, but I do track my net worth. Last year my net worth went up about the same amount as my income. This year it has gone up more than my income. Index funds FTW.
love George, he is so down to earth about money, helping millions if they would listen
So you can “LAG” like no one else 😂
Mostly ads and "jokes". Could have been a 4 min video without the fluff
Go read a tweet if you want 10 second advice.
George - I know a better LARP for you. Thanks for video.
