    You could have probably, if we weren't in this Corona- pocalypse, have sand blasted that swinging arm, had it re-sprayed and pushed in a fresh set of bearings, but to each his own, and its your bike and decision in the end, if you feel satisfied with it, it's what counts. Our lockdown is being lifted by Friday, after a month of being at home, going to work on the 5th May, still under some restrictions, what they call level 4. Love watching you work on your Bertha, I will hopefully see mine soon. Its stored at the track where I rent a container and set up a small garage in the container I work out off, still a bit of a mess, but as time goes on, I'll have it rigged in the way I want to. Just using my bike for trackdays, as our country roads are a bit neglected and full of potholes. Cant get the full potential of the 2015 S1000RR out on the public roads in any case. Keep going at it, and remember, lub is your friend.

      Yes mate and have done all that on other bikes in past but as you said not the right time for it. Cost wise the replacement will do a excellent job all considering too 😎 good to hear your lockdown is coming to a end! Where are you in the world? Were still on full lockdown here although I could be called back to work anytime. Glad you enjoy the videos so much and hope your reunited with your s1000rr soon! Thanks again mate, will do 😎👍

      I'm in South Africa. Were in autumn, headed towards winter, at least we dont get the extreme cold here where I live like snow etc, but some other parts of the country, higher up above sea level have already reported snowfall, so we can be bracing for a cold one this year, been raining quite often around here as well, indicating that it's going to be quite a chilly winter.

    Loving the restoration project Griz, thanks for keeping us entertained! Every bolt on that bike is a lottery as to whether it will yield or not.

      Cool mate and your welcome 😎 Your not wrong, it doesn't come across in this video but I had a few tense moments getting the backend apart 😬

    Brilliant video mate! £60 for a swing arm is a bargain! What variety of wd40 are you using on those old bolts? 👃

    • @SixthGearMotorcycles
      @SixthGearMotorcycles  4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Plenty of rust and crud griz, I think you’ve dropped lucky on the new swing arm , it’s a no brainier , the previous owner should be ashamed of letting her get in that state 😬, it’s going to look great when it’s all done mate 👍🏻

    • @SixthGearMotorcycles
      @SixthGearMotorcycles  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes mate, the video doesn't really show how bad it is. I dunno how someone could let it get that bad, just total neglect 😵 I was super lucky with the swingarm and shock. Its gonna be like a new bike at this rate 😊😂
