desura 3 is the best ship in the franchise, a huge airwing, a massive armament and a gun that makes humanities WMG's look crap by comparison, the Dessler cannon has been known to destroy planets with ease, no WMG has ever had that sort of power, the original desura 2 which is 6 years old by now could easily destroy a planet, this thing is surely even better.
then there is it's 36 330mm positron beam cannons, 11 480mm positron cannons, 10 multi purpose missile turrets, 6 quad flak turrets, 12 positron beam launchers. 12 missile launchers, 52 close defence mine launchers and 4 torpedo tubes. there are no numbers on the wiki for it's airwing.
the only thing I would rank equal to it is the blue noah since it also has an airwing and a WMG and a large gun armament however it's weaker spinal, 15 year advantage and weaker gun armament mean that it is still only going in second place on my list.
But i kinda prefer Desura 2, it looks more menacing and far more bigger than Yamato. But due to it's size, it has more flaw than Desura 3. And Desura 2 also need infantry ships to guard it.

The problem with the layout of the Deusura 3 (and the normal garmillas battlecarrier) is that there isn't really a lot of hangar space. The rotating weapon emplacements take up a lot of space below deck that could be used for hangar space instead. The Dessler cannon being retractable makes this even worse. The entire front half of the ship below the flight deck is taken up by the Dessler cannon and the rotating weapon emplacements. This ship is definitely not able to hold 50 planes or so, the hangar space simply isn't there. It probably doesn't carry more than 30. There isn't really a lot of space at the aft either due to the sublight engines, main gun turrets, the Garmillas equivalent to the Wave Motion engine, etc, and the crew also has to go somewhere. If the Dessler cannon was fixed at the front like on earth vessels and the regular weapons fixed on the sides or underside of the ship, there would be much, much more hangar space available. This would probably double the hangar capacity. But the way it is now the ship is only a mediocre design.
This series has a surprisingly big audience outside of Japan. Of course not nearly as big as in Japan. But it is one of the most well known science fiction animes. (Of course it is very small compared to something like Dragonball, Naruto, One Piece, Fullmetal Alchemist, Attack on Titan, and other large animes.)
