Excellent!!! Thank you for filmed on Class 380 in Scotland. But I never been around in Scotland before in my life, which I lives in England. I already travelled on Class 185 (between Newcastle and County Durham), Class 360 between London Liverpool Street and Colchester (very quiet travelling than Class 321s) and Class 450 between Felham and London Waterloo.
The class 380s made a long 380 for a lot of stations. I boarded a long class 385, started at Croy Railway Station! I feel like I want to be a train driver right now.
@60103Henry Change that! Was at Glasgow Central a week ago and ticket barriers are now in. But I went up to the guy manning it and asked if I could get through to take some pictures and he let me straight through without any issues
The class 350's are long distance electrics and the 380's are commuter electrics so that's why TPE are going with the 350's, TPE have also said they plan to tweak the 350's
@Antthecool1 The 334s are still plentiful working towards Edinburgh - they come through Haymarket regularly if you want to see them. 318s are very rare now in Central (High Level) - not sure what works the low level lines?
@60103Henry There are no ticket barriers for platforms 9 to 15 but I didn't notice the lower number platforms, and they were only manned during the rush hour. In any case, when I'm on a station for any period of time, I always report to the supervisors office or Network Rail office and get a visitor pass. Most TOCs are helpful and enthusiast friendly and a visitor pass will see you through staffed ticket barriers without problem!
@benyhone Actually sorry on the 360's (what we use on NXEA) which is also part of the Desiro family, because the acceleration is so good, there's a low speed setting and you draw up to 1ft. I don't sign that class of traction so I can't tell you loads about it - but you're right in saying he was definitely too fast and coupled from way too great a distance.
How do you use the gangway when on board? Do the driver leave the cab doors open on the inside so you can pass through the cabs to cross between units?
All future non-high speed stock should have streamlined inter-unit bellows considered. This could save a lot of energy yet allow movement between units. If only this had been done for the Class 185s... On the grounds of aerodynamics the Class 380s should have gone to London Midland because of the long stretches of continuous 100 mph running on the West Coast Main Line.
@bwhugul On this basis it would be a mistake to order new Class 350s for the Manchester-Scotland services - they should be either Pendolinos or 380s instead.
I don't know what they're like to ride in, but I think the decision to give them raked back cab ends as well as inter-unit gangways is an aesthetic disaster! Quite clever how they extend though, but the still look wrong to me even when coupled up.
I love the way where the end Gangways come together from a V shape to an I shape!
Same here, epic as hell, so awesome
Nice and fast entrance by these three women. Pity that video was disrupted by that coupling train in-front.
innitgeeza you have to wait to get on
Funky how the gangway doors actually move, never seen a train like THAT before.
gangway not gangay
lol they are gay tho both of the trains are male
Guys it's the way they where made arsholes
Smart Gaming 𝓼𝓽𝓯𝓾
@@xm3405 pretty gay of ya to think that
The power of love.
Also wonder why the Scotrail EMUs tend to look so funky
I love these babies. I so want a 00 gauge model of them!
Is it just me, or do this look like they are performing some freeky ass Nature Channel style Mating Routine when they couple up!!
ColstaXC ikr
Guys shut up arsholes
ColstaXC No it's not just you, it literally looked like that
...and that's the story of how baby 700s were made 😏
p.s. what on earth is this thread though...?

And the 385 was born!
Though I like the 380s they have dominated Glasgow centrel from 334 and 318. Love how corriodr connectors move!
"You may kiss the bride"
Transportation Channel ahhahah I understood
Always wondered how the gangway forms on a 380
Used to think the gangways were just fake or used for emergency exits only on this train. The V is unique
It’s nice to watch them couple. Certainly interesting to see
Learn this Japan, in Japan they have trains with gangways in the front but these are manually joined together

Every child’s dream job, isn’t it? 😄
thats pretty neat with the doors nice catch! :D
dan
Class 380 , Would you like to marry the other 380?
also class 380 : *Yes*
Class 380 is the only acceptable looking train with the end gangway.
@60103Henry Change that! Was at Glasgow Central a week ago and ticket barriers are now in. But I went up to the guy manning it and asked if I could get through to take some pictures and he let me straight through without any issues
@Marovnc I thought that myself. They normally creep, stop, creep, stop, creep. This is just straight in there!
great video

@emmo999 class 318s, 320s and some 334s work the argyle line.
i seem to be seeing less and less 334s though.
@Antthecool1 The 334s are still plentiful working towards Edinburgh - they come through Haymarket regularly if you want to see them. 318s are very rare now in Central (High Level) - not sure what works the low level lines?
You can see class 318s and 320s and same times 334s in glasgow central low level

Excellent video.
Can’t believe it’s a vid from 11 years ago
ooooooooooooo🥅
The way they coupled looked kinda rough lol, and that loud noise aswell
Pretty much normal for a coupling! You’ve got 130 tonnes banging up against 130 tonnes
After 11 years….. emmo999 is still replying to comments
I check my YT fairly regularly. The video is still interesting today!
I assume the driver/guard sorts the doors out so passengers can move from train to train?
One assumes so. Normal procedure on trains I’ve worked is staff unlock and open the end doors so there is a walkway through
Yes, but having there last month, the gatestaff are friendly and will let you through if you're honest and tell them you'd like to take photos
emmo999 was this in Glasgow central if so check out my channel
the trains just kiss
I love the class 380
Same I do too
Ugly as sin but I do love how they automatically couple. Do they use Scharfenburgs?
dellners
Tom Husband , Scharfenburgs are a breed of dog aren’t they 😀
I thought it was a game at first lol
Strange game!

All desiro’s are great even the 380s
How do you use the gangway when on board? Do the driver leave the cab doors open on the inside so you can pass through the cabs to cross between units?
Sometimes they open it for passengers by locking out the separate cab areas and opening the normal doors, but most of the time it's staff only
In a end coach there is a button you press then you go through another door do the same and boom crossed
Hi 2xclass 380 I’m 2x class156 witch will be scrapped next year as time flys too fast
@emmo999 Rule book prescribes Draw up, stop 6ft. Draw up to 2ft. Then Couple. Seems this guy skipped the 2ft bit.
All future non-high speed stock should have streamlined inter-unit bellows considered. This could save a lot of energy yet allow movement between units. If only this had been done for the Class 185s...

@elmothesex 334s seem plentiful heading into Waverley, but I don't know where they go from there
emmo999 Glasgow Queen Street Low Level and other stations on the North Clyde Line
looks like the kissing LOL
@bwhugul On this basis it would be a mistake to order new Class 350s for the Manchester-Scotland services - they should be either Pendolinos or 380s instead.
Why in Britain they couple the driving carriages? It looks really bizzarre...
To boost capacity
K. Then why don't they order enough non-driving carriages? They're cheaper
+Daniil Trokhimenko more power for more weight
Right...
+Daniil Trokhimenko ?
ticket barriers are in force
With them coupling... will it be a boy, or a girl??!
Ah, that’s the ultimate question. Does it start off as a little Hornby train and grow into a full size one as an adult 😆
I heard an "ohh yeah"
It wasn’t me! 😆
I don't know what they're like to ride in, but I think the decision to give them raked back cab ends as well as inter-unit gangways is an aesthetic disaster!

They are confterble
Loganair , I understand the first 2 words of your response but spelling of the 3rd word is comical .
Well that doesn’t make them bad
a class 380 wil be attending railfest :)
i live in Glasgow it in Glasgow Central
That is a weird vestibule
Is certainly is, that’s why I thought I’d film it. Very unusual!
Super 😎 cool
