I tried this, accidentally beat Norman before getting to Wattson, and it locked the game, because Wattson wasn't in his gym anymore
But why? I mean, you didn’t need the badge in order to get into the elite four, right?

@@stevend285 u need his badge for surf i think and if u beat him beforehand the game locks because if im thinking correctly the script doesnt know how to act when u have the fifth badge before the fourth so it Kind of corrupts itself and cant load properly

I gotta say, softlocking someone with endless dialogue is pretty on brand for the Trick Master.
This guy literally makes the passwords in his subpar escape rooms statements about how great he is.
If he had the chance to defeat the one who ridiculed him by so easily completing his challenges just by talking forever, he'd take it.

Having a Teleport and Dig is imptnt in this game. Saving is also impt and also taking notes.
I guess that saving time is also impt typing out the important in it’s entirety takes too long

At some point in time, I wouldn't be surprised if someone made a pokemon hardcore nuzlock with all the good pokemons unusable, map and encounters randomized, and let's not forget: all the champions must be done in order with no overlevelling.
and the map would probably re-randomize every attempt

Unbound lets you do that. I turned on stat equalizer and all pokemon are around 597-600 stats, even the ones that normally have over 700 base stats, or those that only have 400. Shuckle is the only exception ive seen so far at 557. There's level caps, most gym leaders will outlevel you, they'll usually have terrain that lets them outspeed you, and you can only use 4 items (full heal, max potion, revive etc)
Basically you gotta git gud to do it and unless you got very specific speed pokemon don't even bother EV training for it
you cannot use overleveled pokemon above the gym's ace but you can catch high level pokemon
I think there's a romhack for all the above you mentioned. Its called trashlocke. In addition to the above stuff you only get one TM of each and no repeats from the game corner. All except the randomizer part.

An excel sheet is so necessary, the one I made for platinum is so insanely complicated and disorganized but I definitely couldn’t do this without it
I actually did a randomizer myself, and with the trick room master you can just walk away on his second dialogue box or press “b” and it will allow you to walk away

I've done this before, I thought I got softlocked at the trick master too but you can actually put in movement commands while the dialogue is on your screen and you can move like normal even with the text up LOL
I've seen this stuff on my recommended before, but now that FlygonHG has done one, I definitely have to watch it

I did this with Platinum and it was so fun but stressful at the same time. I remember one of my warps was outside fuego ironworks, where you can go down the route towards floaroma town but you have to jump off a ledge to get there. I was terrified that after jumping off the ledge, I’d have no way to get back to all my previous warps and I’d softlock myself, but after like two hours of running around and testing every warp, I finally found a way to connect back to my earlier progress. It was so satisfying - this was a great idea
I would hope the randomizer has some sort of built in safety checking to prevent you from getting completely trapped by such a stupid thing as a 1 way ledge. (Like how all 2way connections take you back instead of to another location)

I absolutely enjoyed this! I wouldn't mind seeing more of this, its refreshing to build a team you can root for and not worry about them dying for once, and the randomness element made it feel like a loot box was in every building. Great video, thanks again!

I think to Nuzlocke this you'd have a rule if you stumble into an Elite 4 room you randomly give up 1 party member instead of a full wipe.

I loved this style of video! I watch a lot of Pokémon commentary videos, and considering the overwhelming majority are American/Canadian men, it’s very easy for all the voices to kinda blur inside your head. Actually getting to see you and watch you was much better - it puts a face to the voice and you’re a lot more personable when you’re not reading from a script!

You can also use teleport to warp to the last poke center you were at, but here’s the thing - it’ll be outside the last poke center you were in, so you can access another location with teleport

Hey so I just played this randomizer last week and you probably weren't actually trapped in the trick room. You can actually walk during the infinite loop of dialog. The box just stays on the bottom of the screen til you leave

I loved this so much!
At some point when you try to play Emerald, don't try taking your rival's pokeball in their room, and just walk out. I doubt many people have seen, or are aware of the fact that there is a different scene.
There's also one where if you get past the first gym, and go around your rival somehow to get back to Briny's house (standard way is to not heal at pokemon center in Rustboro, then white-out back to Petalburg, but this video's map randomizer also makes it technically possible to beat first gym, get back to Petalburg, and go to Briny's house.
You'll have alternate dialogue with the rival there.

As for the clip-based style, I'm quite ok with it. I assume it's easier to produce, and is definitely suitable for lighter challenges like this one.
That said, I love your narrated videos (your Christmas Nuzlocke is probably the best on youtube, at least as far as I'm concerned). You have come up with so many creative challenge ideas, and the narration really enhances them.
A balanced diet of Nuzlocke content is surely the best prescription, Dr HG!
