  • The unwavering mission of the Congressionally Directed Research Program, Gulf War Illness Research Program (GWIRP) is to address the serious and persistent health problems affecting the military men and women who risked their lives for their country three decades ago. The GWIRP focuses funding on research that expeditiously identifies effective treatments and accelerates their clinical application, improves definition and diagnosis, and results in better understanding of pathobiology and symptoms of disease. The GWIRP Vision is improved health and lives of Veterans who have GWI.

Yea. Same. Walked in the VA in 1992 with all these symptoms. 2021 and I'm fairly sure my doctors still act like they have never heard of Gulf War Illness. This looks like a big pharma marketing video. 30 years of drugs for the symptoms and zero recognition that it started in Kuwait.

I had to tell my PCP what the WRIISC was and where it was, and that I needed a referral from him to go. Fortunately I did get to go, but when I got back, they said they didn't see anything the WRIISC had entered into my records. Eventually they found it, but promptly said "I'm not doing any of this." So big waste of time, except I got to see family that lived near there that I hadn't seen in decades... That was the Palo Alto WRIISC.

Probably in 30 years from now when most veterans are dead or too old to do anything about it. They will make a admission that GWS exists , state they can't do any research because all veterans are dead and make a meaningless apology.

When are evidence based strategies like red (near and infrared light), sauna, whole body vibration and especially low hanging fruit like omega 3
Tumeric, Rhodiola Rosea, and especially high dose coq10 which has been shown in one controlled research study afer another to improve symptoms and outcomes

I believe there is a connection between inhalation of gulf oil fire smoke and a disease called cutaneous t-.cell lymphoma: a disease that damages the white cell enzyme responses. There are maybe twenty two or more enzymes involved here. The cross products might result in around 400 different symptoms. So, a study to establish if the normal base line response of these enzymes have been damaged may reveal the reason for so many different symptoms.

My dad was in the gulf and was chem. He was on the cover of time in his suit. When he got back he and myself and my brother all had these symptoms. He always felt hot and put off heat. I’m wondering if being too close to someone that just got back could effect family?

I know of a flight nurse who was accompanying wounded soldiers for the Gulf back to Frankfurt I believe, and she has it. She has been bugging congress ever since the early 90's for funds for research. So, yeah, it can. Also, anecdotally, I can tell you that both of my ex's got sick and I knew another woman who dated a Gulf War Vet, and she is sick too...

      John 3:16-21
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
      Mark 1.15
15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
      2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
      Hebrews 11:6
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

I think that it’s odd that you experience symptoms. I can’t speak to that, but I can tell you if your dad was one of those soldiers that was given 40 days of the antibiotic Cipro before he left for combat, I can tell you right now that is the cause of his illnesses. Cipro, which is given out like candy for common infections, is a deadly drug. It was developed as a chemotherapy drug and is fluoride-based which means it destroys your DNA. It kills your gut biome, and this results in a myriad of symptoms that eventually take your life. It’s disgraceful what our government has done to our soldiers and then does everything they can to bury the truth. If your dad is still alive, my prayers are with him for his full recovery. He needs to be getting chelation therapy.
