I am very grateful to you for this video and these words of support! As a Ukrainian, I thank everyone who brings this topic to their audience, because it is really important, and every day many ordinary people die, citizens of Ukraine, who have done nothing wrong to anyone. My heart is broken and I also couldn't do anything for the first 2.5 months of war... 😭💔
But now I have found the strength, and I really want to demonstrate Ukrainian art to the world! I want to attract the attention of different people with my actions, so that peace can come as soon as possible! We want this all over the country ... 🥺🥺

💛💙 the penpal search is a great idea. I'm so apprehensive reaching out and feel like I don't have much to talk about or I might disappoint someone. I want to penpal so badly though. This was a beautiful video. I understand why you were reluctant to write back to Sasha but like you always say, "better late than never." 😊
One thing I’ve learned through penpaling is that you don’t have to write something amazing or profound. A lot of it is getting to know each other, asking questions, and reflecting on yourself and your interests and daily life🥰 So I don’t think it’s possible to disappoint anyone with a letter - unless it’s like one sentence long or something hahaha!

My first ever pen pal was when we were both 12 years old, me in the UK and her in the USA. We have met up several times, in Paris, in Chicago, in London, in Memphis and she even came to my wedding, we are still in touch and are both now 70 years old. 😃 It is lovely to get to know people through letters...of course, there was no internet back then 😂

I’m feeling so sad about this incident is still going on. Not only Ukraine but so many countries have/had to deal with the war. I feel sorry for the people like us who has nothing to do with this. I sometimes feel so sad putting myself on their place and my brain stop working because of the pain, stress and fear they are going through can’t be imagined like this. I hope Sasha’s doing okay and her family and friends are safe. I pray this comes to the end!! 💛💙

I don't actually mind that the video is longer than your previous penpal videos. Also, thank you for spreading awareness for people who are still in agony about the war. It's hard to talk about situations you can't relate, so it's understandable that you hesitate. I am sure your friend will be glad because showing care is already a way to comfort people. And btw, is the other penpal of yours, the one who supplied the torn bookpages, from Poland? Because I recognised the language of the book, and now I'm having fun with doing an internet deep dive to figure out what book it was, from the little information I saw on the paper scraps haha
I have received penpal letters from Poland a few times, yes! I love when people send old book pages in their language, it makes it more fun to use them! I have Hungarian, Polish, Danish, German, Norwegian and English book pages now, and although I can only understand the Scandinavian ones, I like using the different languages☺️ hahaha that’s some real detective work!! Did you find the book?
Yes, I did! It was relatively easy, because one of the scraps had a full name of one of the characters
It's "On the Niemen" by Eliza Orzeszkowa
The book is a little bit of a meme in Poland, because many schools make it one of the set books, but the pages-long descriptions of the views and nature definitely bore all the students to death haha
That being said, if you're older, more patient, and like those kinds of books it's probably a really good read
I fell into tears watching this video. Anything related to Ukraine makes me cry. I am originally from Ukraine and everyday I look online to make sure my family there is okay. So thankful for social media so I can still stay connected to loved ones during these hard times. Also the sunflower is our national flower in Ukraine. I love your videos and hope this letter brighted things up for Sasha. 💙💛

I wish you didn’t wait so long to write back to sasha even though you were overwhelmed and struggling with what to say. She of all people would have benefitted from receiving not just one but multiple letters from a friend. I’ve had friends who’ve kept silent because they didn’t know what to say when I’m in deep grief and their silence made me feel even more isolated.
