  • Fly fishing at one of the best spots of the Vindel river in Northern Sweden. I have never been fishing this stream before so it begins with trying out different things until I find what is working. I will share both the frustration and the joy of learning a new stretch. I hope you enjoy it.
The best time to book a package trip with Sjöforsen, guiding and accommodation are from October to December for the following year because these spots tend to fill up quite quickly.

Absolutely amazing,Robert.I live in northeastern US at the southern limit of the Lake trout’s range.I’ve caught some beauties but not as large as those.I’ll keep trying however,a wonderful gamefish. You,sir, are a philosopher/angler,a puzzlement to those who don’t fish for sure and are unaware of the joy and dedication angling requires.Wonderful, wonderful video!

Tack Anders. Kanadarödinghugg är så jäkla märkliga. Jag tror det är för att dom bara går fram och slukar det dom vill äta och sen står kvar där. Som att kroka en flytande gren om det är en liten fisk men en stor så vrickar man handleden när de tar.

Thank you for the kind and honest question. The experience for the fish in catch and release is something I'm often thinking about myself. Fishing with a rod and line is a very ineffective method compared to larger-scale industrial fishing. It does very little harm to the fishes environment and to the population so I see it as very normal and cleaver to take such fish for food. But there is fishing regulations, so some fish needs to be released. Fishing is the biggest hobby in the world so with many people fishing a spot it can really harm a population despite the inefficiency 😊
I'm not gonna go into why here in this very long answer but the trend is that people more and more wants to release more than the regulations requires. The thought is good in my opinion but what I am concerned with is when it goes so far as never taking up a fish to eat. That is wrong and I'm especially worried how the outside people that is not fishing sees it. My friend and I took up a lovely snapper today and a jack two days ago (Caribbean) I take up fish in Swedish waters too. My favorite food fish is pike. I can only admit to not showing enough kept fish on my TH-cam channel and I will start doing it more frequently.
I also want to mention that I have been producing a video on catch and release fishing and its effects on the fish. It is not on my channel, so I link it here: th-cam.com/video/MWwjl_Q9pmU/w-d-xo.html
