The thumbs down on her video are probably the hard core Adele fans who would give anyone a thumbs down just because it's not Adele, lol. But I heard Adele's version first, one time, and then Angelina's version and there's just a richness to Angelina's voice that I prefer over Adele's.
With other singers you just hear the song, with Angelina you feel it in your heart and soul, that’s the difference for me.
That is Angelina's Grandmother, Mery, that Angelina is loving on at the beginning. Angelina's soul mate. Mery just had surgery recently. God Bless the entire family.
Those thumbs down are just jealous people because they just can't accept the fact that Angelina is far more better than those they idolized.
Angelina said that she felt a connection to this song as soon as she heard it. While Angelina has not experienced the pain of divorce and seeing the impact thereof on a child, I don't think she had a choice in her life to do anything but sing, and it is therefore easy for her to understand that sentiment in the lyrics. She was born to this path. I believe that she understood at an early age that this was her destiny, not her choice (look at the lyrics she wrote to her original song Shield). And we, those who have the privilege of listening to her, are so immensely blessed to have this young woman in the world.
Yes. I think you've got it - her personal experience reflected in this song is being destined to her career and the pain it has caused her family - the Shield lyrics are key to this, "Forgive me for all that I am" - as Adele knows, how hard it is to be exceptional.
I think Angelina simply has the ability to imagine what someone else is feeling in a given situation and like a method actor be that person for the length of a song.

The girl is a prodigy. She said she was going to do Bohemian Rhapsody on America's Got Tallent and I face palmed...then she started singing and my mouth dropped. I turned to my wife and told her this girl is the next big thing.
Personally, I don't believe any non-jazz singer, no matter how good, can match
the passion that a true jazz singer can provide which just pierces the human
soul so much deeper. I hear bits of nuance and inflections of Billie Holiday and
Amy Winehouse in this girl and Amy is the most uniquely different jazz singer
of all time. Angelina has redefined Amy and I never thought anyone could ever
accomplish that. She is, without a doubt, the reigning Queen Of Jazz, for sure.
As Angelina gets older she isn't quite a jazz singer, not that she isn't fully capable, it is that the world isn't really ready for an old school jazz singing teenager and she knows it. So she is a jazzy singer, in that she infuses jazz techniques into various other pop styles. I was going to say an Adele-like pop style, but she isn't limited to that, she has so many tools in her toolbox that she can come at a song from so many different directions. I'll admit she went full-on jazz in "Billy Jean" though and it was great. She is something entirely new and it is wonderful.

Actually Adele sings eeeeeee, z on me, using 2 breaths. Angelina sings the whole phrase in one breath. Subtle, but telling.
Great point about Angelina learning the song so quickly.The Grammy award winning duo Stargate works with Angelina at Republic Records,they said she is one of only a few big time artists such as Beyonce that can record a song in studio in only one take.

I'm with BP1 on this. I prefer Angelina's version much more. Adele had a nice video that helped explain the story she was singing, but Angelina paints that video with her voice, and tells us to go easy on her, because as much as her parents tried to make sure she had a normal childhood, it wasn't. I also prefer Angelina's version of Adele's "All I Ask", and think that song now belongs to Angelina.
I think she associates with the "still a child", and that got her right on it.
Angelina is not a singer....she is an ARTISTE par excellence!!

At a time when young singers, especially girls, are singing about explicate non-sense we're blessed with a gifted young artist who is bringing beautiful classic music to generations of people who wouldn't have ever heard them. You commented on that little section at the end where the song goes 'So go ee-ee-ee-ee-ee-zee on me' that she does it just like Adele,.but watch it again, Adele stops and takes a breath before 'on me', Angelina does it all in one breath. Adele's version hits you with its power, Angelina, like she always does, draws you in with the artistic way she expresses certain parts of the song. Example, the title line, "Go easy on me" is an expression of vulnerability, Angelina emphasizes that by using that gorgeous soft, whispery voice.

I watched Adele's video and I was moved so much, mainly because I know the story, and the video was well done, and Adele's singing is well Adele. AJ adds quite a few unique touches to Adele's version to brings forth that deep emotion she wants to communicate with us listeners. the vibrato, the runs, the powerful belt, the breathy airy tone, her hand motion, her facial expression all together make this cover magical. I really enjoy this cover.

Adele is a terrific songwriter and singer, but she writes songs that are right in Angelina’s wheelhouse. Yes, I admit that I think Angelina is the best singer I’ve ever heard. She can match Adele’s power and emotion effortlessly, but then adds jazzy riffs, runs, killer vibrato, and a variety of vocal textures that make her voice so unique and compelling. One of Angelina’s most amazing songs is her cover of Adele’s A Million Years Ago, when she was 11. It’s just Angelina sitting at home with her mic and an acoustic guitar backing her. You guys mentioned that she doesn’t have the life experience for the emotion in these songs. Watch A Million Years Ago and see an 11 year old tap into the melancholy better than anyone who’s ever covered that song, including Adele. (I really enjoy your reactions.)
I tried to introduce Angelina to a friend of mine. My plan was to start with - A Million Years Ago - and then go on to - I Put A Spell On You - and the others we so love. BUT. My buddy insisted on listening to - A Million Years Ago - over and over and over and over and over. My plans were dashed.

Angelina has so many incredible songs, but A Million Years Ago makes anyone understand that an 11 year old can deliver that message of regret so authentically-and do it with a startlingly beautiful voice. No production, no filters-just reading the lyrics from her phone and killing it.

Nice reaction gentlemen! From what I heard, she is a quick learner and only needs at most 1 to 2 takes to sing a song. She is one special singer/person. In regards to the people who gave a thumbs down to her video, I'm sure there is a small percentage that did not really like it, which is fine. but it's the fans of certain singers that are trying to influence others to not like her performance. Angelina is all about positivity and love, so lets follow this example. I like to think of myself as one of her Angels. I ask the other Angels out there to please make sure to click the Like/Thumbs Up on her video to show we far outnumber the negativity and hate that's out there. Both girls are actresses within their singing roles. But completely different. Both great in storytelling and phrasing and connecting with the emotion of the lyrics! But again, completely different! I think there are two ways to convey the content: totally involve your own emotional connection, or partly describe it, so that the listener creates the story in his head too. This is why they are different: The song is written by Adele based on her own experience. Which you can feel. Angelina relates to the story, compares it to her own experiences, respects Adele and conveys it in a way that we feel invited to listen! For me it's not a competition between the two, it's like two different art forms. Like a painting and a statue, or a book and a movie! Of the same subject! Both are great artists, but the fact that Angelina is so young makes it very special!

Gentleman, I love Adele voice and this song is her signature coping with change and translations. That said, Angelina Gordan admirers Adele music taking some of her vocal phrasing to her lyrics. However, Angelina brings so much more passion along with a Jazzy tone to her voice. Singing to her is her is like breathing to us mortals, she is music!
Other 15 year olds are messing around with video games and learning to drive. Angie hangs out at her little record label. Messes around with millions of dollars worth of sound equipment along with Grammy award winning producers. Knocking out epic covers one after another, while giving a masters class in vocals…yup that’s our Angie!

Those thumbs down probably belong to hardcore Adele fans who can't bear the fact that Angelina did at LEAST as good as Adele (if not better). But Angelina does have a following who regularly give her a thumbs down. I've had brief discussions with Daneliya fans and Aurora fans who have called AJ an 'out-lyer' and worse. But jealousy must always raise it's ugly head. Great reaction guys. Thanks.

Good rule for everyone. Don't go on reaction sites just to trash the artist being reacted too. I could never imagine going on an Aurora or Diana reaction to denigrate the artist using Angelina's name to pick a fight. It is so INSANELY out of character toward Angelina.

I agree with you, I prefer this over the original & the 6-7 covers I've heard from both male & female vocalists. In fact, it's my new favorite Angelina performance, but probably only until the next one.

Appreciate both of you for another wonderful Angelina Jordan cover this time on her studio version of Adele's "Easy On Me". There had been naysayers around and probably from fans of other singer. These do not distract from the great talent AJ has and a very large and supportive fan base. Thank you both very much again.
Angelina voice comes out warmer, more intimate, rich of texture, small technical surprise hear and there together with perfect imperfections, which interwoven makes us feel this is the better version. She smash it again!
Not "Just" her Voice, but the story , the Lyrics, fit her so well. it makes it "Easy on her" to pull us all in.

Great reaction to this amazing young and super talented teenager. I've listened to both Adele and Angelina versions several times and I also prefer this version. Angelina just has the ability to hit my emotions and I feel myself welling up listening to her. Adele has never been able to do that to me. That's a fact.

to Angelina sing an Adele song, I can't go back. Angelina adds her own

This is what I've been waiting for. She's now using vocal fry only as an occasional decoration, and mostly clean voice. Other female singers must by now be looking over their shoulder in case Angelina decides to cover their new song. Because she is going to do it better.
Adele is amazing. A truly great talent. It's no insult to prefer Angelina,'s cover. It's a testament to the evolutionary leap in musical ability that is AJ.

I really understand how you feel. As beautiful as the Adele version is, it didn't make me neatly as emotional as Angelinas version. And it's about Adeles life. But Angelina brought me to tears.
Angelina is simply the best...
Adel certainly has a powerful and beautiful voice and it’s a pleasure to listen to her sing. She is also a great song writer. Technically speaking, there are differences between Adel’s and fifteen year old Angelina’s voices. Their tone is close. Angelina’s has all the power of Adel. Angelina doesn’t belt unless the situation calls for it and even then she’ll choose to use a half belt. Angelina’s voice is much warmer and soulful. She has a larger tool box than Adel does. She produces a delicate breathiness that I have never heard from Adel. Her unique vibrato is unmatched and it’s all her own. Her vocal fry is a ridiculously good and she knows how and when to use it. I’ve watched voice coaches who have said Angelina’s vibrato is incredible. Angelina can deftly produce amazingly crisp and complicated runs with ease and that I have never heard Adel do. Angelina’s run in the second verse of “All I Ask” is an example.

I cannot see how she can get any better, but at only 15 years old the potential improvement is an exciting journey that I will be on every step of the way. As a fan, I - and probably hundreds of subscribers here - listen to many reactors. Your comment about the dislikes/thumbs-down on her video made me think about a couple of the ones that didn't seem impressed. Music is a matter of taste, after all, and emotional response, and some people respond differently. Even among those reactors who like Angelina, a few have called out what they believed was off.
But the ones that are just plainly dismissive are the ones I don't understand. A couple - vocal coaches, no less - suggested that she forced the high notes and the emotion. I find that hard to believe when there are at least 20 other vocal coaches admire her ability to evoke emotions. 😊. To eaxh her or his own, I suppose. Once again, thank you! Looking forward to Bohemian Monday No 4.

She read the song the day before she comes in and sang the whole way through and no one else at all and does it better than Odel my opinion, and many others have fun with USA
Good reactions and commenting here! The tone Angelina uses here is very similar to Adele’s, so it is easy to miss many of the angelisms she sprinkles over the song. Even the opening line is melodically different. But especially from the bridge beginning at 6:18 (one breath for Angelina, two for Adele) this is a tour de force from Angelina. She adds more colour, complexity and accuracy to the original, but makes it look and sound so easy it is actually hard to notice. Technically this is better singing than Adele, but which version you prefer is a matter of taste and nothing else.
The thumbs down on Angelina’s video make up a very small percentage, and should bother no one. It will always be difficult to some when someone performs at the very least on par with their idol.
I think there wasnt that much time since the song was released by Adele. She didnt have years to hone it, like she sometimes did with other covers. The word is, she's gearing up to do a bunch of more covers. I'm sure it'll be awesome. I hope we'll see some more originals in between, too.
Hi guys. Awesome reaction! I have to tell you... I'm ecstatic that I have my ears, otherwise my smile would have run all around my head from watching BP1 :-) That would have looked kinda weird.
I agree with BP1 that this sounds even better than Adele's original. But tbh, I strongly disagree that she sang it the same way as Adele did. Because she ABSOLUTELY did not. I know that these things can be tricky to pick up on after the first listen, but take the time and run the two back-to-back a few times and you will understand what I mean. But there ARE definite Adelerism in her voice for sure. It can't be denied that they have much of the same tonal qualities and style of singing. I guess that is also why this is Angelina's 7th cover of Adele's songs. Angelina has also said in interviews that Adele is one of her biggest idols (among contemporary artists I would guess).
It can be difficult (and maybe even a bit unfair) to compare the level of feelings and emotions being portrayed in Adele's and Angelina's performances. There are a few "imperfections" in Angelina's performance here which tells me that this was a one take recording (you know what I'm getting at ofc), whereas Adele's MV is the result of a multi million production, where eventual imperfections or weak parts have been redone. And redone again. When you polish something very near perfect, it can be hard to match. You know.... Just saying. LOL I AM an Angelina fan boy after all.

We go there in the end, it just got released after we had recorded our videos for the week, so sorry for being a little behind, but it also gave you time to come back and hear it all again.
Yeah with the ability to hear it back a few times you can pick out the subtle differences, we really are listening to it for the first time here and just pulling out the thoughts that pop into our little heads as they appear.
We have gone back and listened to it a few times more during the edit and it is a great verison.

After I had listened to a number of Angelina songs and before I listened to Angelina’s cover of Easy On Me, I wanted to listen to Adele’s performance. When Adele started singing, tears came to my eyes because I was not hearing Angelina’s voice.
Wonderful reaction guys. Angelina may not have gone through the same life experience as Adele, but she taps into her own emotions and passions when singing this beautiful song. Loved your honest reaction and comments Brits. Your comment about the thumbs down I think, fairly certain anyway, are the usual Trolls but have seen this quite a bit with Angelina's cover of Adele and really believe that many Adele fans (I am one) feel threatened that this young lady is stealing her "thunder" so to speak. Angelina fans respect other artists and particularly the ones she covers and She gives respect to them too, Adele being one of her inspirations. When this young lady sings a song better than the original artist, well that is just the way it is and there is always another artists waiting in the wings to take over from your "favorite". Someday, in a galaxy far far away, someone will surpass Angelina as well. Angelina did no disrespect to Adele here, just sang her song better, that is all. The similarities between these two superstars is so amazing I just hope they grow to be great friends and truly like each other. Maybe one day they will prove to the world that they are really great friends and recognize each other's greatness on dual performances on the same stage. Let's hope!!!!!

Great show gentlemen. What can a person say when they see this sort of thing happen? Beyond prodigy and genius, she is truly an enigma - and I say this because, through this child, we are witnessing something unfold that is both astonishing and humbling. Who better to carry the torch than Angelina? Makes one feel that she was born with a mission.

To paraphrase a quote from Winston Churchill "Angelina is a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma". In over 80+ years of listening to music, I have had many favourite singers and instrumentalists, but none of them have been in pole position as long as Angelina has. She captured my heart when she was 7, and I am happy for her to have it.

Angelina sings to my soul
She is amazing. The beauty of Angelina's covers is that she's not trying to compete in any way ..if anything she shows great respect for Adele here and does not pretend to be emotional as Adele was but not because she hasn't felt grief or deep sadness in her life .. she has. She lost both her grandfathers that she was very close to and her father left a long time ago as I understand it. What I love so much about her is not only her voice but her purity in singing without any kind of personality in it .. just emotion from the heart and that stunning voice. She is such a gift.
I do wish people wouldn't speculate about Angelina's father. So, what leads you to say "as I understand"? If you know something, please post your source, although I doubt you do. Angelina's private life is private, as is her family's, and everyone should respect that.
@@alberttenfoot Yet, the song that Angelina sings so extraordinarily emotional is all about a very personal aspect of another's life. Angelina's very persona conjures a reasonalble desire to know more about her young, though event-filled life.
@@barker3903 I am sure you know that Angelina has experienced a lot of tragedy in the two years of her life from 12 - 13: the death of both grandfathers; the death of a close friend (Avicii) by suicide; the death of a family friend (Ari Behn) by suicide; and the death of one of her idols (Aretha Franklin). Her way of coping with these events was by paying tribute to them in song. It is her way of grieving. A few weeks ago, she went through the trauma of not knowing whether her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani, would survive surgery for cancer. When singing "Easy on me" she may have had any one of or all of these events in her conciousness.
It is human nature to wish to know all we can about one whom we love as a daughter, granddaughter, or any close relative, even if it is only "virtually" but I think it is overstepping the bounds of decency to speculate upon relationships within Angelina's family. Neither Angelina nor her family have ever commented, and we should respect their decision and resist our desire to "feel important" for a moment by voicing these very intrusive speculations.

@@alberttenfoot Of course, all that you say are reasons not to speculate about someone's relationships, and I abhor speculation in that regard. But, we have experienced so much of Angelina's life through video filming since her early days out of the crib that an unusal interest exists about her lesser known aspects. It is also plausible that much of the speculation would cease if a few more facts were known. It is paticularly regretful for lack of greater understanding that the person who precipitated these comments referred to her father as having "left long ago."

Something different for sure. You can't call her voice better technically, or in strength, or clarity. But it can hang with the best and has something else for sure. It is more pleasing on the ears, and for that matter watching stuff from 7 to now years old there is an artistic ability to play as much as she wants to with notes, and make it sound anywhere from good to genius. Very interesting in ways I can't peg. A confidence and musical intelligence she was born with that most of us won't get I suppose. Any thumbs down would be from angry people thinking she's stealin thunder too quickly or something, maybe good ole jealousy. I'm sure Adel is fine.

Emotion, as every aspect of life, has at least two edges on its metaphorical blade. Perhaps it could be imagined that Adele is expressing her "suffering for her own humanity." And, perhaps Angelina is expressing the empathy she experiences with "humanity" overall? Credit to Don Mclean for the paraphrase from the song "Vincent". Both singers deeply entrenched in their passion on parallel paths. God will bless us if the two tracks can join together for any length of time. My fingers are crossed.

Hi Guys, I'm back watching this for a second time (while having a coffee) and I really noticed BP1 reaction, like mine in total shock and awe of this fantastic cover by Angelina. I've since listened to versions by many many other artists, in fact almost 50 others to date and Angelina's is easily the best. A very close second is both Adele and Morrissette who both sing it beautifully but neither have that magic ingredient that Angelina can instil into her vocals. Great channel, cheers.
