Another workout, this time on a beautiful swing standard by Ernie Burnett - My Melancholy Baby. The tune was most famously played by Charlie Parker, with Thelonious Monk on piano (their only studio session together, check it out!). This time the metronome setting is a bit more difficult, 1 of 8 beats at 64 BPM = 1 beat every 7,5 seconds. To be able to play this way, you first need to LISTEN to the metronome without playing and get the feel for the rhythm, try to hear the click in the correct place BEFORE your ears register it.
