    You now need ball joint spacers for angles

    Put one of these on my 1998 sierra 2wd and it makes a loud noise when going over bumps. Do I need to adjust my shocks or something?

    • @ChristmanGarage

      Very possible we had to extend these shocks

    Hey man I got a question about stacking a 3 inch puck just like the one in your video on a 6 inch lift kit I’m having some machine work done to the puck so it will fit in my 6” lift puck already in there.

    • @Fadedbrade69
      @Fadedbrade69 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I was wandering if you can stack two of those pucks together on one side as long as it worked properly and fit on the coil spring correctly?

    • @ChristmanGarage
      @ChristmanGarage  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      don't see why that wouldn't work as long as it doesn't put anything in a bind@@Fadedbrade69

    I got a question can you just do the front and not the back or do you have to put the kit in both or can I just get longer shocks and the spacers for the front

    Hello good sir, hoping you can share a bit of advice. Starting off, I had recently installed a similar lift kit to yours. It was a MotoFab 3” for my ‘05 Silverado 1500 2WD. I had also installed Rough country extended shocks to alleviate the pressure. My question is this: did your coil springs touch or almost touch your front shocks when the truck was at rest? My driver side has about 1/4 inch clearance on the inside and my passenger side has about 2mm clearance on the inside. Wondering if you had the same issue and how it’s held up for you. Thanks for the vid too!

    • @ChristmanGarage
      @ChristmanGarage  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes the clearances are very tight. I’ve never been too fond of these kits because of the clearance issues and as far as how it’s held up I did it for a friend and he hasn’t had any complaints yet and he has put many miles on it. Thanks for the comment👍

  • @brianturner5812
    @brianturner5812 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I did it and I can not get my shocks back in it’s a 3 in for the front. In order to get it in I’d have to bend the shock. How would I fix that

    Are those 3" front spacers?

    • @ChristmanGarage
      @ChristmanGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I didn’t order them so I’m not sure what they are labeled but they are actually about 3” which in turn raises the truck closer to 4”

    With that much pressure on the spring, does it change the way it rides?

    • @ChristmanGarage
      @ChristmanGarage  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      From my experience in installing leveling kits on many vehicles. Yes they always ride stiffer in the front

    Will coil spacers wear out ball joints more? Etc etc

    • @ChristmanGarage
      @ChristmanGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      They do put the ball joints at a different angle but I wouldn’t think they would wear out any faster than normal

    • @CallMeAdam2023
      @CallMeAdam2023 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Coil spring spacers won't cause any more wear to the suspension components. Now if you use wheel spacers, thats a whole other animal

  • @matthewhenry4708
    @matthewhenry4708 ปีที่แล้ว

    I can’t get the shocks to fit because the spring is to bent do you have a link to the shock extends so I can try them but lift shocks are to big around so they hit the spring and If not is it safe to ride without shocks and can I get it a alignment with no shocks

    • @ChristmanGarage
      @ChristmanGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s unusual I’ve never had that issue? I fabricated the shock extenders with some bolts and a welder. And to answer the question is it safe to drive.. You can drive it but it may be very bouncy and unstable and yes you could get it aligned with no shocks the shocks don’t affect caster or camber.
