Watching VJ zero the runout on that 4 jaw was satisfying as hell. Thought I was watching CEE for a minute! The impressive part was him eyeballing those cuts down to half a thou. I've never used a DRO in my life and I know how much intimacy it takes with your work and machine to achieve that.
There is always something to learn watching your channel. But this was the best. It was hugely fascinating and watching how the work was done was excellent. Great work.

I found this to be absolutely fascinating stuff. I’m just curious about the cost, in comparison to buying a new turbo and swapping out the whole thing out vs getting it high-flowed. I totally see the benefits of getting it done, especially with it bolting straight back up, as it came directly from the vehicle. So there’s no messing around with reassembly but I can also see that every application is different. I guess it depends on how far someone is willing to go and what their end goals are. Interesting to think about…
That's all very good work, but its only being low speed balanced and really should be balanced as a unit to high speed around 100,000 - 150,000 RPM. The turbo equipment there is perfect for heavy industry turbos, but not ideal for passenger car high speed turbos. Good work though, nice video (y)

You didn't prime the turbo with oil first. Aren't you supposed to crank it until oil comes out the drain?
It would have had assembly oil in it and only run for a couple of seconds 'dry' before oil got to it.
