Justin, you are so sneaky, you know this is coming down the Hot Toys assembly line. Notes: I would leave her clean looking, when in the power loader, it does the battle-damaged heavy lifting for the display. The shoes were 10/10 for customization.
Wow Justin! You got the New Hot Toys Aliens: Power Loader & Ripley Figure!? I love it a whole Lot!!! I thought the Ripley Figure, Looked Absolutely Stunning and Power Loader, a Working Art Masterpiece. And Mentioning it came with Plenty Accessories! You Definitely can't Beat that! Very Informative and Entertaining as always! 👌👌🔥👍👍
“That’s It, Man. Game Over, Man. Game Over!” Congratulations on the acquisition and the build. Everything looks great. Thanks for the fun review video. 👽
The Power Loader looks the business, that weathering straight out of the box is very cool - but your Custom Ripley is stunning, hats off to all involved, very good work.
Excellent custom Ripley figure! A sublime job with a lot of effort and enthusiasm. The head is sublime and unbeatable! The clothes; The white shirt, check the film several times and use tea leaves and dilute in several bottles, from more diluted and less dye to higher dye and concentration...as glazes. If you don't like how it looks you can wash it with plenty of water. The tea dye is useful for sweat stains, very diluted as glazes, more pronounced stains and dirt. And by the way, you can have a quiet tea waiting for it to dry, with a hot hair dryer from a distance and avoiding the heat to damage the fabric You can apply similar stains to the pants, apply and wash, apply and wash, until you get the desired effects, without buying expensive dyes, tea leaves that dye a lot. The skin color is perfect using makeup powders is a great idea until you get the perfect tone so that it resembles the hands and customized head. The head is the best I've seen with the hair tangled from walking with aliens and soldiers and looking for the girl Newt just before a facehugger attacked her and exactly as in the movie, the face is very subtly stained perhaps with charcoal that is used for sketches and gives it the touch of dirt, but very subtly with a brush or very fine painter's swabs, it's perfect 10/10. The boots are perfect, the Power Loader is huge and spectacular and it could use some touches according to the movie of chips, scratches and dirt and polished metal, but without saturating it too much. The straps with the grenades are very well done. You can see Ripley's clothes when they escape from the planet and arrive with Bishop to the mothership with Newt, before the Queen comes out of the landing gear and cuts the "synthetic" Bishop in two. There, in those scenes you can appreciate Ripley's shirt and pants in good light. I am a Star Wars collector, I am a customizer and with a very clinical eye for details. And I can say that the figure is 10/10. I have never seen a figure as perfect as Ripley from the 2nd movie Aliens: The Return, which I have seen perhaps 50-60 times, both the theatrical version and the extended version. Verdict 10/10 that with a few of the aforementioned touch-ups could become 12/10. Unbeatable. All you need to get is the Alien Queen at 1:6 and put together a great epic and iconic scene from the Cinema and Alien. For me the first 2 movies Alien: "The Eighth Passenger" and Aliens were and are the best and the best in action, obviously the 2nd by James Cameron, Aliens. And this figure is for that version. Just SUBLIME WORK!
I used to own this set years ago. I regret selling it after watching this video…but man, you knocked it out of the park over the stock product! Very nice dude💪
Wow that looks awesome, especially the rooted hair and Reeboks; they look so lifelike once fully assembled. The Power Loader shows its age (it kinda looks like kid's toys) but still looks great 😊😊
Incredible custom, one of the best I've ever seen. 1 tiny thought: Though she's an A Cup, it still might be worth taking some tweezers & maybe a little bit of torn-up cotton ball fluff to stuff under that white shirt. 😉
This is beyond amazing. Rooted hair really makes such a huge difference and I can see it being almost a standard feature at some point. I wonder what the next frontier would be after that - articulated mouths?
26:41 WOW! That’s amazing! Honestly the best figure you’ve made! Great job! Another cool thing is when you put the two Ripley’s side by side the face’s actually looked different! Aliens Ripley looked older for some reason which works perfectly! Great job!
This is awesome, I really hope one day HT releases a 2.0 Power Loader with Ripley, that is indeed a grail figure. I remember seeing a 2.0 displayed at Sideshow's SDCC 2012 booth but was never released :(
Awesome job! Just a suggestion, you could use pastels for weathering the clothes. I don't see any bleed issues with that. Grind up some dust and apply it with a brush maybe.
5:58 that looks a LOT like the portable welding torch that [I think] either Hicks or Vasquez uses, to seal the doors as they leave each room into the next, to slow down the Xenomorph’s attack… I’m fairly certain Vasquez even says something along the lines of, _"Whatever you’re gonna do, do it fast,"_ as she’s welding a door shut… I could easily be wrong, though, so don’t take it as gospel; re-watch the movie, keep an eye on the tool they use to weld the doors shut, then let me know if I’m right. 😁👍🏻 26:55 Personally, I’d be so proud of successfully putting together that power loader, and so proud of the custom Ripley, that I’d have her permanently displayed _in_ it, next to the sickest looking 1/6 Xenomorph Queen I could find! _Having said that,_ if you are ever going to display her on the base, with the flame-thrower & pulse blaster etc., do you think painting those to rubber ends of the cr0tch-grabber, the same colour as Ripley’s trousers/pants/combats/jeans, would make them less obvious? Just my thoughts. 🤷🏻♀️ 28:00 *Closing Comments:* Dude… Justin… This custom Ripley really _is_ your Mona Lisa/Sistine Chapel; dare I say, even, that she is your _Magnum Opus?_ You, sir, have earned not just a cup of tea & a biscuit, but in fact _God-Tier_ status, amongst the 1/6 scale collectors community! Seriously, I absolutely *_LOVE_* this, and now have to go watch my _'Aliens: Special Edition'_ DVD! See ya soon! Love, as always, from Nottingham, England! 🤟🏻🥰❤️
Ah thanks for the info! Yeah that's not a bad idea, I have her on the base right now and have her rifle and flamethrower blocking the crotch grabber from the front. But painting could work for a different pose. Magnum opus...love it
I can sell you the art box if you need one ;) by the way, if you haven't done so already, you should remove those rubber hoses now if you are leaving it in display. The plastic quality doesn't hold up to the weight over time, and the little yellow pegs will break clean off, and stay stuck inside the hoses. (yeah my heart broke too) Remember to spray anti-rust on the metal rods where the fork prongs slide open and close too.
Hopefully Hot Toys comes out with an official Aliens Ripley figure soon enough. Been waiting forever for it. Would be nice to have some marines with amazing head sculpts like Hicks, Hudson, Vasquez, etc.

@JustinsCollection I just mean that it seems like you have every collectible ever then to see you makeshift a stand out of a lid makes you seam more relateable, and I think it's really cool
Phew. For a second I thought that Hot Toys had released a 2.0 version and that it had gone under my radar. They showed a prototype at an event several years ago, which I was planning to buy, but they never got around to producing it. They missed the 35th anniversary of Aliens. Maybe we'll get it in 2026? Better do it soon, or Ripley will drift right through the core systems.
Watch those hose posts on the back. They will snap off if you even look at them funny. That was the only thing I hated about it, then most of my collection was stolen. The aftermarket prices are insane, so I hope tha Hot Toys will one day improve and accuratize the Power Loader for a re-release. If they do, I hope the hose posts will be die-cast as they should have been from the beginning.
