*I was pleased with Trilene mono line **enjoyable.fishing** recommend performance (25 lb. test) because it offers smooth casting with no tangles/bird's nest in the spool. And, knots can be tied effectively with ease. I would recommend.*
Whatever it's called, it is a great, simple, strong knot! Thanks very much. I tie the FG knot and it has never failed but this one is much easier. Thanks for the video.
Nice, almost like the Albright knot. I use the Albright for a lot of things, the way it's tied to Spectra double the Spectra and run it down 12 times on the mono the same basic way as you guys start and back thru the loop the way you sopped. But this looks simpler. Nice being able to trim the tag clean on the mono.
I fish SD long range. It’s not new, it’s similar to a marlin shock leader to chafing leader I’d tie for marlin. I saw it called the Alberto knot in another video. The RP is known for its long range “arrogance”. I use the Peña or Bob Sands knot. This one is smaller though
Heh. The RP knot is the Alberto (modified Albright) with two less turns of the spectra (5 vs 7). I use the Alberto with a dab of super glue. I know the Alberto has been around for at least 15 years. Other people tie the knot with 6 turns.
You could yeah but if you're paying the increased price for hollow Spectra id utilize it. Even this knot, which at least on the east coast has been tied for decades, isn't as streamlined as a spliced connection or a loop to loop connection.
it's an alberto knot !! been around for years
Best knot and easy to tie! I've been using this one for years, Caught tuna over 100lbs with this knot with no problem!

It looks so simple, thanks for showing it slowly, I'll keep practicing to get it right!
Albright been trying it for 40 years!

This thing works. Used it for mono to braid, and mono to fluoro. Zero failures when tied methodically and appropriately.

I LOVE THIS knott
But I grew up knowing it as the modified Albright knott ? Anyhoo I like it
John is the best-thank you so much!!!

I’ll trust Frank ….👍🏾
how heavy of line is this knot good for
That's the ALBERTO knot ....
FG knot takes a little longer to tie but it goes through the guides much better
Time = fish..... 'winks'
How does it do with heavier mono or flouro such as 40 to 80 lb
thanks!
The RPbright knot
You didn't invent that knot,it's a modified albright knot, also known as the Crazy Alberto. Give the proper credit.
Can this connection be used with hollow core?
You could yeah but if you're paying the increased price for hollow Spectra id utilize it. Even this knot, which at least on the east coast has been tied for decades, isn't as streamlined as a spliced connection or a loop to loop connection.
Adalbertos knot

Thanks for the history lesson, how about you tell us how to tie the knot in less than 30 minutes.
Jesus!
If you wasted 30 minutes, you must’ve watched the video six times…..
