I always add a copy of Abyssteus & Abyssnerei into my Icejade deck! Abyssnerei's effect comes up more than you know and can make a seemingly innocent board go from a decent endboard to an OTK in seconds It also helps trigger your in-GY Acti/Tremora to help you extend! If you end on Abyssalacia, you can also discard a WATER during your opponent's turn (which, if you discard Heavy Infantry, is GREAT) to grab either of the two for extension next turn and/or battle phase shenanigans Abyssalacia is a REALLY underestimated card, and people *seriously* need to stop popping Abyssalacia before they read her effects...
These guys are my favorite way to run the spell "Rank-Up-Magic - The Seventh One". Use level 3s to go into "Number 71: Rebarian Shark", use it and another water to go into "Mistar Boy", put Seventh One on top of the deck, then next turn use its effect to go into "Number 101: Silent Honor ARK" and as a result go into "Number C101: Silent Honor DARK", optionally use DARK's effect, then overlay "Full Armored Crystalzero Lancer" on it. Or you can use the level 4s, go into "Bahamut Shark", use it's effect to go into Rebarian Shark, then link both of them into Mistar Boy and do the same thing!
fun fact about abyssturge, apparently it is also the highest level 4 attacker without a downside. It rivals classic beatsticks like gene-warped warwolf and equals summoned skull
I started getting back into modern Yu-Gi-Oh for fun decks. I picked up Mermails and this video was fantastic! Love learning more and more about the archetype! I just discovered your channel. Keep up the great work! P.S. Love the Vs Yorkist song from Duelist of Roses. Great game.
I've always thought that Abyssgaios was made to be in Arc-V. Its attack lock for Level 5 or higher monsters is a perfect counter to the Obelisk Force bar the burn damage from Hound Dog and Ultimate Hound Dog's LV-halving effect, and I know there are continuous cards out there that would fit. 17:05 - Abyssbalaen's effect isn't quite so bad when you consider that it destroys cards up to the total of Mermails in your GY, whether or not that's just the 4 you discarded, and unlike 90% of similar cards it DOESN'T NAME-CHECK THEM. That part is kinda wild, because with a little comboing you can turn it into a board-breaker that you might even be able to chainblock with the discard effects you triggered! Literally, it could wipe a full 11-card board if you had a full GY!
I love Mermail Abyssdine so much. She is so cute, friendly and sweet. She even looks like someone to hang out and play with rather than battle. I would 100% play and hang out with her. I even see and treat her as a person. I love this adorable Little Sea Angel! 😇💖
When they came out, I outright rejected Mermails and Atlanteans, as I felt I was not being faithful to my Fish cards. Now in Master Duel I run the Mermail that searches lv3 monsters from the deck, and the Link. Still can't remember their names.
I only know of the Poseidon side because of it's boss monster, and the soilder monsters. As for metmail I had all of their high lv. Mons at one time. I'm not quite sure how to rank these cards myself, I feel like both need more support.
@@halfrohp Sent for cost is one of those things like "when" effects where that's not the only factor at play (see the mandatory when effects in Atlanteans) but it is easier to teach people that "when" is something you have to look out for in regards to missing timing then explaining everything. In this case Abyssgunde (not sure which other mermail specifies a discard) specifies if it's discarded at all, cost comes into play if a card needs to be (discarded/etc) by a card effect.
Where is the LORE? I hate the fact that this is the best yugitube has to offer. There are so many lore cards out, yet no one covers it and this dude just does puns.

If your opponent fills their board entirely, 13 names is needed to totally nuke their field
So what separates which Atlanteans get to be gorgeous anime people with 8 pack abs and which ones are the cute frog people with the big bug eyes?

Mayakashi & Shiranui have the same lore but don’t mesh well. Time & time again they show us Zombies are too dangerous to give a meta deck.
