Bought an orange one last month and I really prefer it to my 20” fat tire foldable e-bike. This bike really encourages me to pedal and not let the motor do it all. I like the power usage bar on the screen and many times I look at it I’m out riding the motor so it’s not using any power. No fear of running out of juice either. I also like the percent of power left instead of a bar system. I added a seat suspension and a 115mm handlebar riser which is all the front brake line will allow. Oh and I love the cruise control as well. Very quiet as well. I will be switching the freewheel to an 11/32 which after my other mods will make this an unbelievable commuter bike for under 800$ with the mods counted in.
I finally received mine last Saturday after some shipping issues. Never owned an ebike, so no point of reference , but man, what fun. I'm a big boy, 290lbs, and this is the first bike in a long time that felt solid under me. I got mine on prime day for $680 shipped.
@@ChrisCrossedis there a specific chain ring that you would recommend for this bike? I don't know a thing about them except for the sizes that I read online. Went to Amazon and have no idea what to get. Also, if you get a larger chain ring, would that also mean that you need a longer chain?
I have appreciated your review and the reviews of others. It seems to be a suitable bike for me, I ordered it, and it arrived today. The assembly went easily enough and my first SHORT ride went well. A view observations, and perhaps some can give useful feedback. (This is my first Ebike.) 1) Sadly, while the included Instruction Manual has a very quality look, it has a lot of errors, etc. Just take a careful look at Product Structure on pages 10-11. 2) On my test run I began with gentle pedaling and went into PAL 1 and 2. There was a noticeable jerk forward at the beginning of each PAL. Is this normal? 3) Is there a way to change the speed setting for each PAL? I know some bikes have this ability and that this bike allows several adjustments in the Display. 4) This is embarrassing. In assembling the bike I set the stem height. Later, I wanted to raise it, but haven't been able to remember/determine which bolts need to be loosened, or whatever. Any help is appreciated. BTW Actbest has a flash sale on their website now.
1) yes thats fairly normal, some ebike models are different than others 2) you cant change the setting ... though you might email the company and see if they allow settings to be changed. I think if you loosen the bolt on right side of the extended stem that allows you to adjust angle.
I have a 36V e bike as well, in your opinion, is it a mistake to buy a 36V in today's market, when some companies are now doing 52 V and 48 V seems to be norm. Do you notice less torque with the lower voltage?
Excuse me, I need an info. How do you charge battery? You can remove and charge separately? I live on third floor! Thx. Is there a lock key battery? How easy is remove battery if possible?
You have seen chain covers .. On the Pedego.. Just not a smoked or tinted clear color one.. Most are metal. That bike almost looks like a regular bike. Nice trim looking light bike. Not bad. Looks like the front sprocket could be bigger.. But that guard would be huge up front and look funny. Trade offs I guess. Nice grips and seat color. That rear gear set doesn't look like much of a tooth differential either.
Just bought one of these for my wife haven't received it yet but I noticed what people are saying with the way Amazon has screwed up their ad on one spot they say it's a 350 watt and another spot they say it's a 500 watt with a 750 watt peak it can't be 750 watt peak and be 350 watt that would have to be a 500 watt peak I wish Amazon would list stuff properly.
On the Amazon questions an answers one pointed out he had a 350 watt on the motor but the bike title rated 500w so I'd check your hubs... But he was still satisfied..but I wouldn't be!
At higher speeds you can pedal with little to no resistance because the chainring/freewheel are not big enough. Its a common thing on many ebikes. Front light is average.
I'm a cheapskate but I want the exotic features like full suspension and hydraulic brakes. That's why I went for the $1400 Pioneer by ActBest. I'm almost a month in and am well pleased with my purchase. It's perfect if you want to do what people do with bicycles. But now that I'm in the e-experience I want to do what people do with 150 to 250cc gas scooters. Okay, not why I came here. ActBest doesn't have an upgrade parts store yet. How do I find a throttle that works with the stock controller and motor ?and battery? What if I decide to upgrade my motor to 2K? All I need is information to put the right parts together. Not have ActBest do it. Is there a dedicated ActBest forum somewhere?
My dislikes: You blowing thru STOP SIGNS. Yeah nothing coming and no one to watch out for . . . But people see it and it registers in their heads BICYCLE RIDERS IGNORE THE LAWS. Even if you do obey the laws when there is traffic . . . they have already erased your images from their memory. Set a GOOD example . . . there may be children watching. Don't teach them sloppy riding. PLEASE
Use it as a learning experience to educate your youth about the variety of people and choices they can make. Chris, thank you for taking the time to share insight on this bike. The reason I came to this video. Not to critique your riding style…

👍🏻 nice
I just added an 11-28 rear free wheel and what an amazing upgrade! It was pretty easy too. Just buy the removal tool also.
Can actbest speed be unlocked?

Right now "11/23/2024" only $488 + free shipping on their website. Can't beat it.
As low as $299 on Amazon right now. Hell of a deal, gonna grab one for wifey so when I’m running my Aventon, she can play too.
Nevermind... I just commented about you making a video on your unboxing shorts 🙂
I am probably going to buy this because it is on Amazon for 349.99 right now! What a steal!
Have you bought it? Review please
I’ve had mine for a week now.
Just bought one today!! I’ll review it after I receive it!!
What's your opinion, worth it?@@markadams9335
Yes, plus a $30 discount. But don’t forget to include the $199 shipping charge.

How are small hills for you? Still running solid?
I LOVE this bike, Facebook group is upset with lack of customer support 😢

I didn’t notice much difference to be honest. I used to think 36 volts sucks but on this ebike j was fine with it.
Excuse me, I need an info. How do you charge battery? You can remove and charge separately? I live on third floor! Thx. Is there a lock key battery? How easy is remove battery if possible?
You can remove it and charge separately yes,,, there is a key
Mine doesn't want to accelerate anymore 😢 the outside connection is connected so idk if i need to restart but i dont know how
How do you build this

not bad for 799
Chris, thanks for the overview Actbest Core e-bike. Although, Actbest website state the weight is 65lbs, which is not a lightweight commuter bike.
feels lighter than that

def a 350 from what i remember
FYI use you gears to get more traction so you dont ghost pedal and tire you self out😂.
I might buy one of those for a gift to an older parent or wife that doesn't ride a bunch. Good price and style.
Website states 36 V on one line and then 48 V on the spec sheet, I wish they'd make up their mind.
Yes j noticed that too
On the Amazon questions an answers one pointed out he had a 350 watt on the motor but the bike title rated 500w so I'd check your hubs... But he was still satisfied..but I wouldn't be!
What is ghost pedaling and is the front light any good?
At higher speeds you can pedal with little to no resistance because the chainring/freewheel are not big enough. Its a common thing on many ebikes. Front light is average.
@@ChrisCrossedI feel no resistance until settling it to 7th gear
did you send back the old bike after the battery swap?
No I am getting the battery fixed
Is there a throttle?
It looks like there’s a thumb throttle on the right handlebar
Hey Chris, nice looking bike entry level bike price seems reasonable, nice review 👍 👍
How do you unlock this to full speed?
dont think you can but ask Actbest

They are new so don’t know of any forum. You could look on AliExpress for new motors and displays . Will need a new controller too.
It’s not 500W. It feels like 350W max
What is Ghost pedaling
At higher speeds the gearing is so small you don’t get much resistance while pedaling. Legs are just spinning
What size of chain ring do you recommend for this bike? Are ebike chain rings different from conventional?
No they are the same, you'll need at least a 42 Tooth
@@ChrisCrossed Im 5 11" would you recommend 42 or 44t? I need some resistence
Qlife or Actbest Core in your opinion? Both on Amazon around $500 with shipping
Actbest
what is bike weight?
Less than 60lbs
@@ChrisCrossed ok thanks.
@@ChrisCrossed is that with battery installed or no?
Is this bike water proof
No ebike is, water resistant is more
Like it
How do you unlock the bike for full power?
From what I have read about this bike if you exceed 175 in weight do not expect much from this model
It’s basic transportation nothing more
I don’t stop for stop signs when I’m on a bike
1.16.24 😮
