Just discovered your channel and have been binge watching. I love making vintage table covers and doilies, especially using my grandmother's hooks from the 30's.
I love the centre section of this, I would just do this section, and make enough for a bedspread 😊
I'm blessed, my grandmother only knew UK terms and my mother knew both, so I'm comfortable with both.
Thank you for making your magic circle slowly enough for me to follow. I just can't seem to remember how to make them , though I've used them often enough.
You are so welcome!
You made such a gorgeous choice with this doily! And you do such beautiful work! I'll wait until I see how your doily looks without doing ribbing in that last solid section - but personally, I love the look of continuing the ribbing there. Thank you for another excellent and entertaining tutorial!
I think I would make it like the pic too.
I'm comfortable with both UK & US terms as long as I realize it in advance. I try to read the pattern through before starting the project. I will make this!
I had to laugh, although you are talking to us through your camera it reminds me how I work out patterns. For some reason reading the instructions out loud helps in figuring out a tough patch.
I really want to do this with a dk, I've never worked with cotton thread before lol.
I wonder if it would be blanket sized if you use worsted?
You could make it a blanket by putting them together. It would be beautiful!
Long as you know it will be big!
That's beautiful!
Wow! Very Beautiful !😊
Gorgeous! 😍❤️
Beautiful!
Beautiful ❤
So Pretty !! Thanks for another great video !!! Appreciate that ur tired but still pushing to put out Beautiful work thank you so much Sweetie ❤❤❤ 8:57
Thank you so much!
Lovely x
This is already beautiful. I think the "ribbing vs not ribbing" confusion is, (at least when I'm looking at the picture), in each round each corner section, or pie piece, is 1 ribbing, 2 ribbing, 3 no ribbing, 4 ribbing, 5 ribbing, 6 no ribbing.
So beautiful! I'll get thread and hook ready. ❤
This is gorgeous. I love your channel and the things you choose. There aren't enough surfaces for all these doileys and clothes!
Oh wow...the thumb nail already is so pretty and promessing! Yes, yes, yes I will...work ad that, too...some day. I am a bit jalous about the books and magazines, becouse I am inpatient (yeeees watshing you is much more fun than figure it out by myself) but there are so many nice edges and patterns. Well I gues this is my lesson, beeing patient 😉
Lots of fine little work there ma’am. Agree with your decision to not do the rib rows at end as love to compare the options… on to part 2 😊
I really love and appreciate your working in thread! Thank you!
My friend has been asking me to make her a doily. I love your videos! Thank you 🙏🏼 ❤😊
Definitely going to make this! Beautiful! Thank you.
Thank you for another excellent video. Stay well and happy!! Cheers.
This pattern is beautiful.
beautiful as usual !!
Thank you! 😊
Beautiful! Looks similar to some my grandmother made.
Ill definitely have to learn UK terms. This pattern looks gorgeous
hiya corinne!! im amazed that at your young age you have the fortitude to do so many complicated and intricate designs! btw, i thank you for that! vintage crochet needs to prosper since it is an art. have you thought of locally teaching in a church/school/library in a group format? xoxo
Wow here you go with thread again 😂😂❤❤
You are so talented, thank you
Thank you! 😊
Cool.
This pattern is so beautiful. Gee I admire your work Corinna, you sure are very talented. ❤ I could never understand these patterns like you do.
Thank you so much!
I have these magazines and look at them often but admit 2 b a bit intimate d by them
I don't crochet tightly enough for patterns especially pictures to. Stand out
It occurred to me why the stitches are called what they are. A British dbl…the hook is pulled through 2 times. The triple, hook pulled through 3 times. So the nomenclature does make sense.
That is true, UK terms go by how many loops are on the hook, many modern British crocheters, dont understand this as they have learnt by Americans on TH-cam, so they say it doesn't make sense as to why we use the terms we do. It's sad. I taught myself from a book many years ago which obviously went into detail about the various stitches. Anyway thanks for understanding why the UK terms are called what they are😊
I have some old Needlecraft from the 20's Love looking at them I just got a big ball @Michaels was $21 😮 A lot of these using #10 thread require a # 7 steel hook Last I looked its only available in a set
A 37 is also a 1.50mm and you can find those all over :)
Wow 😮❤
The heavy center section was to protect tables from hot dishes, or to soak up lamp oil spills
not sure if this is right, but did you miss working the last corner on the "open work" on that section after the initial ribbing? all the other corners have a "V stitch".... absolutely love your tutorial ! OOPS - my bad, I guess I should have watched all the way to the end :)
It says pt 2 is private. Are you working on it or am I just having a problem accessing it. I am not home and my crochet thread is there! I am itching to work this one!!! I love it!
Beautiful work and workmanship, as always! ❤🧶😘
Pt 2 is available 8/28
@@g.cosper8306 thanks! I missed that!🤪
Totally buying your pattern for this! Love it!❤ My hook always pops too, think I need the sharper hook throat hooks. (I always mark my corners too.)
I love watching your videos, but I might have 2 curtains patterns you might like. But I don't have a printer right now. They come out of a 1936 book. I wish I could send you photos, 1is called Bluebird filet curtain and the other one is Cluny lace curtains
I’m usually pretty good at following tutorials, but this one has me stumped. I’ve tried 4 times and it’s just not working. Oh well… I still love your work!
This is such tiny work. I love watching it but to do it would drive me crazy. LOL
❤❤❤❤😊😊
I love your work... Do you always have to turn in a doily? Or is turning specific to this pattern?
it's specific to the pattern, many pattern will let you know weather or not you will need to turn
I got the pattern. Having trouble..how many stitches. At end of each for a count to see if I'm correct like end first row 12 and second row 18. Would really help
Hi, love this tutorial! It is a gorgeous project. But as I am following along there seems a part to be missing. At 25:25 you say you'll be back for the end of the round but then you are already in the middle of the next round. I am trying to muddle my way through how to start the round.
Yes, I seem to be missing a segment, work in a continuous round ( so no slip st ) , and work a sc , ch 3, sc in the same loop all around, and keep working a continuous round with this st rep. for another round . I hope this help and im very sorry.... this is why I needed a break, too many mistakes on my part
I'm coming back refreshed in September :)
I think that "3 rnds (not ribs)" instruction just what it says, work 3 rounds, not 3 ribs (6 rnds). It's like a knitting pattern for something in garter stitch saying to knit 3 rows, not 3 ridges.
And Canada fans
It’s so pretty. It says part 2 is private. Has it been downloaded yet?
Available 8/28

Thank you ladies.
You seem to have skipped some of the ch3 rows in the video. Did you just continue onto the next row or slip st then continue?
it does look like there is a missing piece of footage, I'm very sorry, just work the ch3 rounds as a continuous round, no slp st or turning
Hi Corinna. Please can you check the video at 25:33. I think you've edited out the jump from the first round of the wide openwork to the next. I've got your pattern and been trying to work it out for 2 weeks but am completely stuck :-(
Yes, that was a editing error, I did add a note in the pinned comment that shold help, I am so sorry about that
From the picture, it looks as if there are 20 sc in both loops, then 40 in back loops, and then 20 in both and ,then 40 in back. 🤔🤪. Im just gonna roll a doobie and take a well needed break. BRAIN OVERLOAD!!!! 😂🤣
Perhaps the 3 rounds of sc are blo no turning
Yes, that’s what I did , I thought that’s what I instructed, I will check 👍
so, I checked and it looks like I did not instruct that, I'm sorry, but you are correct,
Thisis why I'm taking a break, too many errors and I'm struggling to comprehend some patterns lol, I'm a bit overworked lol ( 7 months of non stop crocheting and editing ) , thanks for letting me know about that though :)
I understand I figured it was an error because it appears that it looks blo. I understand fully. Folks who don't crochet often or ever kinda don't understand the wear it has on someone. Have a good break.
In the process of following along and at 25:29, the video jumps from doing the ruffle after the 2nd ribbing to the middle of the next round. I can figure out how the round is supposed to be. But I thought you should know there is a gap in your tutorial.
