Run To The Sun 2023 - Show & Shine, Newquay, Cornwall

Day 2 of the Run To The Sun '23 Event @ Nanskival, Newquay, Cornwall sees the Veedubs gather in the 'show field' for the 'Show n Shine' competition. Patina to pure vw porn; everything was covered!! Cracking display of the passion, creativity & following these iconic vehicles hold over people. My last VW show was way back in the late 90's when I attended the Volks World Show @ Sandown Park. This was when I owned a '78 Panel Van.....I've since moved away from the VW scene only to return to it a few years ago when a '62 Bug came up for sale locally that I couldn't resist. This show hopefully inspires and gives me a kick up the back side to start the much needed work it requires. The restoration video will be forthcoming I'm sure. :)

As a kid, Mum and Dad used to take us to Newquay every summer. Beautiful place. Now I live in New Zealand which is a beautiful place of a different sort, but I have fond memories of Cornwall. Still car mad though and have a cool 68 Beetle custom as my toy. Thanks for the vid mate.

Its certainly changed a lot over the years. There's a lot of locals who stay well clear of it in the summer months....has a bad rep now I'm afraid. Although, when the veedubs descend its like te good 'ole days.

@@DipstickUK Yeah my parents went back for a UK holiday a few years back (before that virus thing) and they said Newquay isn't what it used to be. Certainly looked like a good atmosphere at the dub show though:)

@@martinharris5017 It sure was....looking forward to bigger & better next year @ RTTS '24. In the meantime I've got to make a start on restoring my 1962 Bug.....video coming out soon ;)
