Id like it if they were diff village types, since the mangrove feels like a diff biome and maybe if they finally add a new wood type for normal swamps it’d add some more variety and it wouldnt feel like the mangrove got added just to replace the old swamps
As someone who lives in a tropical climate, comparing this to my grandparents villages near the jungle, this is pretty good. I like this concept with stilts rather than the usual treehouse designs which adds to the realism unlike the latter option. It also feels like in Vanila Minecraft, not too much but not too little. I would also suggest adding an animal farm, most common would be chicken coups, but overall, a great build in general.
I thoroughly enjoy you showing your entire process from the initial reskinning a plains village to attempting your own by drawing inspiration from other types of villages and then settling on a few select ones. It's in sharp contrast to what most people do, when they cut to the final result immediately and merely talk about how they tried one thing, it failed and so they started over and eventually came to this. It's fun to be brought along the process of getting there. Like "it's about the journey, not the destination" kind of thing.
I suggest using haybale or mangrove roots as thatch roofing material because bamboo houses typically have the bamboo as walls instead of roofs (irl this is done with dried palm leaves but the haybale and mangrove roots block look the closest to that), because irl bamboo doesn't keep water out very well and it's better as structural support than a roof. I would also suggest making the houses a bit more open and airy, with entire sections or walls just open to air, where these are usually builts it's often very hot and humid so people would want very open architecture to let cool air in instead of all four walls closed off with windows. Using more fences than full blocks also helps with the airy vibe as well.
Although they can probably add this for the jungle now because of the parse jungle variant, I think all the water in swamps would make that very difficult for villager and raid ai to navigation around.
I think you could try designing the houses around or on trees so that in the end it would look as if the jungle was there first. Really nice designs though 🤠
I think the Jungle villages should be treehouses, like a Wookie/Tarzan vibe! Think that would be really cool and introduce activity at height. Great video LRB!
This is cool but, i could see some improvements, like a -church- *_SHRINE_* (lowresbones thought of shrines)! And since plain villages sometimes have pumpkins and melons you should add like a bamboo and melon farms (bc we can find melons in jungles), and panda barns or whatever they are called and you should add some smaller wells, and of course blacksmiths. And a neatl ittle thing that is not really vannila is a TEMPLE or something _similar_ , or a mini structure. That is all i can think _for now_ . Hope you see _my comment_ .
I don't think jungle villages would use that much bamboo, I think there should be a bit more jungle wood in there or some house completely made of jungle wood just to convey that this village is from the jungle
On the topic of village generation mistakes: Savanna Librarians can't access their own houses and lecterns because carpet blocks their path. I submitted a ticket and they said it was "Works as Intended". xD
I think they should do a village update, add more details in the villages, maybe add palissade walls, more proffessions, different models etc and if they would add palissade, make that ravenger can bash walls because then the illagers are useless etc
9:28 I would say this should, no no, MUST be in the game. Like villages are one of the things that makes the game more alive (which Minecraft suffers from this aspect greatly, makes you feel alone when you play alone). Not just this but they even need to add a Mangrove swamp village too!
one thing i would change is making the glass panes in the buildings into fence posts. i feel like it fits a lot more as glass would be pretty high tech
he said he would break the monthly upload schedule, and he went and did it! i think you nailed the vanilla style with this one. the roads that are a little bit too annoying to walk on comfortably; the small pond breaking the path; in general the somewhat restrained chaos of vanilla generation; and of course the simplicity of the villager structures-all perfectly fit the vanilla aesthetic! it takes one kind of talent to create your own unique build style, and another to mirror a completely different one
i think u could make the houses hanging on the trees with bridges for paths like they did in the official tutorial word! :D (also, u nail the vanilla style!)
The mud structure reminds me more of a Old school Furnace. Prior to us having modern day ovens and stoves some places tended to make holes or oven like structures similar to what you built. It has a different feel and honestly food taste different when prepared that way.
The clay campfire thing reminds me heavily of island/jungle totems and worship locations, areas where they build out of wood and clay religious symbols or cultural significant shrines. I don't know that Vanilla Minecraft would go so far as to add totem pole type structures, but we already know jungle and desert temples exist, so maybe? Great idea, great concepts, great builds, great designs, overall A++ video!
So you went about this pretty well, but I have a few notes. I've studied villages for longer than I'd like to admit, _(what would you call someone who has spent years looking at minecraft structures?)_ and I have a few things to share. Every village has it's own unique style, color, and block palette, and usually has a special building technique associated with them. If you tried to take a plains village house, and turn it into a taiga house, it would look awful. Same with making a jungle village. It's gonna need a lot more creativity Most plains villages, with exceptions, have buildings with cobblestone or terracotta walls, framed with oak logs most of the time. They take the colors of yellow and white, and use oak woods, white terracotta, and cobblestone, in general. They use rudimentary lamps to light their streets, and everything is very rectangular and organized. This was one of the first times that mojang used stairs as a roof, a trait that isn't seen at all in any other village except for the savannah. Also, whenever they want to add color to a building, they use their main colors in the form of terracotta, stained glass, and carpets. There's a dash of green carpet in a couple houses, but in general this holds. The desert, taiga, and snowy villages are all completely different from the plains villages, and if you were going to create a new type of village, it would make a lot of sense to also create a unique style and color etc unique to that biome and the challenges that someone would have living there. So the colors would probably a green and purple, or green and brown, etc. This village would express their colors in the form of wool, and would do it much more heavily than all other villages. The style would involve verticality a bunch, for the reasons you described, while still allowing the villagers to function of course. So no ladders into workstations or beds, because the villagers couldn't reach them. Anyways, this is why the idea for the jungle village to be made of tree houses is so popular, and isn't a bad idea for a unique style. The block palette would be mostly the same as you used, just no packed mud, and likely no stone in general, as that might be too heavy to realistically keep in the air. It could be the first village to have no stone blocks at all, fully leaning into the woody tribal nature of the jungle. They would light up their roads with, if glowstone is too much, lanterns that could hang from two poles, or perhaps even from two different trees. You shouldn't have deleted the jungle trees, because they aren't going to be removed if the village is actually added. It would have been best to instead build houses and roads that work with the heavy amount of trees. And man, that bamboo pattern gets nauseating when there is an entire village that is 99% built out of it. 7:29 That would be a way better meeting place _(the building that bell is on)_ than the well. As if the jungle villages needed _more_ water lmao. 7:57 And that would be a very good decoration to put in a butchers job site, or maybe modify it and put it in a weaponsmith/armorers job site 8:39 those stairs would work fine, there are a couple two story taiga village houses that have stairs on the outside of the building, and they work fine. The problem is that beds are never placed in a job site, and vise versa. Idk why, but you just can't I guess.
Really great job making this jungle village! It really seems like it would be IN minecraft. Like it isn't too over the top and crazy. Keep up the good work!
this is such a good video! they teased jungle and swamp villages so long ago (and they do have unique villager textures already in the game) and it's exciting to see a concept of what that could look like with the new bamboo- i mean noodle blocks! :D
nahh I think the temple should stay deep in the jungle far from civilization so it feels more mysterious. I imagine that the village would be in the sparce jungle biome as it would be wayy easier for the villagers to move around there
I thought it was really good! I can see this being in the game but I would tweak it a bit. I feel like you tried to take the bamboo block aspect in too much and not fully the jungle. I think there might need to be some more trees, some houses in the trees, lemons, and a few more jungle environmental blocks. other that that it looks great and I feel like this could 100% be in the game!
This is amazing! It looks so great and very close to vanilla. I hope the devs can bring this as closely as possible to live. At the start I felt a little cringe (cause just swapping all the blocks and combos to single block looks real cringe) until you've shown some build cases made little higher than usual. What I've seen in the end made me feel excited! Thanks again and have a good one 😎
I hope they add this too. It's quite challenging getting caught up in a jungle no safe haven like a village to go into . Nice one once again, lowresbones! Keep it up! 😁😁😁
Your building skills are amazing and the village absolutely fits into Vanilla Minecraft; but there is just one thing, I think you ought to have used Jungle Wood a bit more because at the moment the village looks just a bit bland. Anyways, your content is absolutely amazing, your channel is one of the very few I actually really like. Take care Lowres!
This would be amazing, because my modded world is in a jungle, most of terrain i discovered were either: Mangrove swamp, jungle or savanna. So these villages will fit my world
Vanilla villages usually have their crop fields on those rectangular shaped structures. So i'll say that your take on those is more the one of the builder ;) which i can totally agree on :p but may not be vanilla friendly ^^ Great video, keep it up 👍
i think it looks great, but here's a couple notes most villages have a uniq block crop, such as the hay bales, pmkins. Melons naturally grow in jungles, so perhaps have hay piles be melon piles instead. for the stairs up to houses, take a page out of taiga villages and put the upside down stair block under each stair, this makes the stairs feel more solid and more connected otherwise, it looks good
I can definetly see this jungle village fitting in Minecraft, the only thing I feel could be added would be some form of incorporation with the tall trees in jungles. Mainly because of the fantasy aspect of Minecraft. Like some stairs wrapping around a tree and a couple houses connecting to each other from tree to tree, maybe that's a little too modded sounding I'm a little unsure, but I think it would still be fairly cool looking
You have nice idea to add this village to game. I really like this inventive village homes, but maybe more interesting will be village with part of homes on crown trees connected by bridge?
I really love those designs!!! The only problem I found is that I think in vanilla the archery blocks would n'ot be out of the archery house or even not in the village at all. I also think that the way that you put y'our structures one block above the ground is very realistic (and mojang allways try to be realistic so it make it very vanilla). ❤
I’d imagine an jungle village like treehouses connected with trees together, involved with circular type houses maybe some with jungle wood or even bamboo blocks. But that type of village is actually good when it were on ground level.
if they do add jungle villages I think it would be better if they lived in tree houses made of bamboo wood and jungle wood unlike other villages these ones would be high up to avoid mobs and only connect through a wooden path that is like a giant bridge and instead of iron golems they would have wolves but the well would be below the village on the ground
I know I'm late to the party, but a small suggestion I have is that since Jungles rain a lot and you are trying to embrace that fact, I think you should replace the torches with lanterns, or cover/conceal the torches with a roof. It might help the build a bit :) Great build, nailed the vanilla style. Good job 👍
There’s also mangrove wood now too! So technically swamp/mangrove villages could become reality too.
i really hope it does
Id like it if they were diff village types, since the mangrove feels like a diff biome and maybe if they finally add a new wood type for normal swamps it’d add some more variety and it wouldnt feel like the mangrove got added just to replace the old swamps
Really hoping I only seen it in mods

Wow theres a new wood type? Now after years we can finally have a village for.. the new biome?
As someone who lives in a tropical climate, comparing this to my grandparents villages near the jungle, this is pretty good. The chicken coop would have been perfect!

It looks like it would fit in vanilla. However I would love to see some tree houses,

They should add another village in the swamp too
Agreed
They can’t because of a ai problem
They should combine mangrove swamp and the original swamp then they can make the Villages out of mangrove wood
Although they can probably add this for the jungle now because of the parse jungle variant, I think all the water in swamps would make that very difficult for villager and raid ai to navigation around.
maybe with a friendly witch too!
This village feels vanilla for me. You did a great job, like always!
I like how the color of the bamboo blocks matches the villagers' ocelot pelts, but having every house as totally yellow might be too much
I think you could try designing the houses around or on trees so that in the end it would look as if the jungle was there first. Really nice designs though 🤠
