- I TOOK THE ENTIRE FILIPINO FAMILY COMPOUND FROM CAGAYAN DE ORO TO BOHOL!
I lived with the Factura family for more than 3 years. I always heard stories of their family trip to Boracay... and though it would be amazing to do a trip together somewhere in the Philippines. Finally, that day has come! It is such an awesome feeling getting all together in a jeepney, and heading down to the ferry port in Cagayan de Oro. We are going to Bohol!!
This is our travel day as a family group to Bohol. After arriving, we explore churches, eat at a local restaurant and end up at our resort in Panglao.

I really enjoyed seeing Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church there in Bohol. One of the churches here in my hometown just celebrated the Feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel this past weekend. It has been celebrated for 95 years now. I know that's nothing compared to how long so many of the churches there in the Philippines have been holding their fiestas, but this celebration is significant to me because my grandfather, who came from Italy, was one of the founders of the celebration here in my hometown.🙏

The best Catholic Filipino way of starting a vacation visit in a new place, is going to Church to pray and offer a thanksgiving 🙏🏽 one of the best Traditions pass on by previous generations and should be practice and pass on to next generations to come.

That's how I grew up in the San Francisco California bay area back in the 1960's. They didn't have that many Filipinos here. Alot of Filipinos back then worked on Chevron oil tankers. We were are family. We called the adults our Anties & Uncles and all the kids said we were cousin's . Are families did everything together. Filipinos are family oriented. We are all still family ! Enjoy your Filipino family. Looks like you all are enjoying your family trip. You are so blessed to have a Filipino family like I am. ❤ power on Kulas !

When i was younger my moms relatives in Jagna Bohol would often have family trips around the island whenever we visited. Typical clan tours hiring a jeepney or a mini bus.
the sandier coastlines are in Alona and the Dumaluan areas.. cool to see places i know well especially Gerardas which is owned by the family of my highschool classmate.. miss their dinakdakan!

blood compact ( Sandugo in local dialect) in Bohol is one of the oldest recorded intl. friendships & even said to be the seed of the United Nations hence, it is celebrated thru the annual Sandugo Fest. every July
