    If you get hint of sewer smells in your RV, there are usually only a few areas it can come from. It is not normal to have sewer smells, so don't bandaid the smell by only cleaning the tanks really good. Find the source of your sewer gas leak.
    In this video, I go over the replacement of an air admittance valve under my kitchen sink of my Winnebago View. Failure of the AAV is very common in RV's, but I show you how I discovered that the threads of the AAV were really loose, and no teflon tape was installed. This would cause sewer gas leaks even if the AAV was in good working order. I also show how I isolated the area with the use of peppermint oil and hot water. Surprisingly it worked.

    Teflon tape would help the loose one, but generally you do not put tape on plastic-on-plastic joints. The plastic threads deform into each other if made correctly.

    Thanks for the video. Could you put a link to your "smoke test" video?

      Try this link. If it doesn't work, the video is titled Winnebago Sewer leak part 1. th-cam.com/video/zSPc9cBf-c8/w-d-xo.html

    Our smell is just outside the door. Where would it be coming from. The black tack has been completely cleansed.

    Another ** IMPORTANT ** video! RV manufacturers NEED to look at their workmanship! I am learning A LOT! ☺

      It's hard to look at the plumbing and electrical work of many manufacturers unfortunately.

      @@rvlifediy I've seen the wires hanging and it could be so much better & tidier! Keep up with your good & honest videos and please stop apologising for making them! We wouldn't be watching them if we didn't deem them necessary! ☺

      Hi, can you please show how did you secure your coffee maker to the counter?

    • @rvlifediy
      @rvlifediy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cebetan I used "Alien Tape". Two strips. You can remove the coffee maker easy by using this type of tape. It's clear double stick type tape that can be removed when needed. Hope that helps.

      Good idea. I would also check the existing threads and see how loose they are and put on Teflon tape if the factory missed it.
