I love how this game takes you to Nice Car Dealership when buying a car. I wish more racing games would be like this, because it seems like most racing games takes you to a dark, sketchy looking warehouse when buying a car.

Technically, Celica has different kits for pre-facelift (Wings West), facelift (Veilside) and Action Package, and RX-7 FD has C-West for the pre-facelift and the Veilside VS-D1 GT for the later model FD.
I have a few fond memories of this game, I actually remember liking some of the menu music and found it somewhat fun to play in spite of its flaws. The customization at the time seemed more enjoyable to me than NFSU1's customization. One of the issues with this game though was in fact the car list, they kinda took a page out of Polyphony Digital's book by adding multiple trims of the same car to fill out the car list. However, part of me actually liked that they did that. I think this was one of the only racing games to have both the 2nd Gen Impreza WRX and STI.

Not a NFS rip-off, but actually a very FnF inspired game (you can even tell that by the intro). And guess what, these devs made The Fast and Furious game for PS2 and PSP later in 2006, soooo.........
One of the many racing games of this gen era that used a game engine I was not a fond off due to how it felt when driving. Other games that used this particular engine include: Ford vs Chevy, Ford Mustang: The legend lives, and FnF Tokyo Drift just to name a few. This was definitely riding the train that NFS Underground set a year back. Only thing it had going for it in my eyes was the aesthetic parts you could choose for the vehicles, as they haven't appeared in other titles of that era. The car selection looks like something out of Gran Turismo with all the different kinds of trim levels being their own vehicles. Which imo should've just been options when you're customizing the base model vehicles themselves. Since it defeats the purpose of buying the lower trim ones, if the higher end ones exists.
Is that all? Back then i thought it's just the starter cars and not all of them. But Hey it's street racing, and those are the cars you'd expect to see and not luxury sedans or supercars.

The biggest issue is that there are 4-5 models of the same exact car, so that over 40 licensed cars doesn't mean shit 😂. Glad I got rid of this garbage game hahah.
