Hey Boyd, New subscriber here…. I quit my call center job and landed a IT help desk job with no experience in tech. Wording that resume was key. It’s only up from here. 2023 is year to grab life by the horns.
So many years in the IT field but never really doing IT save landing the waters of digital payment solutions in banking, and I have been hungry to understand the payment work around. I never understood these frameworks or rather was never exposed to them. thank you man, this is something i have been looking for for a really long time.
Man this is legit good information. I used to work in a Data Center for a bank, the biggest concern over next to data protection was being PCI complaint. One of my homies who moved over to that audit team had a crazy pay hike and was working business hours compared to the 12hr shift we had running. i've been doing some cloud migration consulting and I'm starting to get more questions about PCI DSS the bigger the company I work with so I'd have to agree with these roles he is suggesting. I might be adding that to my services and if things take off like cloud migration I probably will need a helping hand.
Congratulations on your appointment the Forbes Technology Council!👏🏽👍🏽🙏🏽👏🏽 Thank you so much for what you are doing and sharing for your listeners. ✊🏾❤️🙏🏽

Ooooh yeah, great video. I am currently enrolled at Baxter Academy and will have my first call with my Success Advisor tomorrow at 4, I'm so hyped right now. I wish I could have gotten it done last week and could have been knocking out lessons over the weekend, but that's ok, So looking forward to the portal being opened to me tomorrow. I'm super geeked to get started!!!!!!

I just downloaded the PCI App I’m gonna start reading and learning all about PCI DSS I don’t have any Certs in anything , but you said I don’t need them. Thank you so much for the information. I haven’t heard about this anywhere else on TH-cam , Facebook, Tik Tok or anywhere else.

hie Boyd, thank you for this very informative video. i'd like to find out how you can attain the PCI DSS qualification and how much on the job experience do you need to be relevant in the industry?
You suggested downloading the version 4.0 and studying it. Once someone has done that would they need to take the PCIP to get certified or would they just add to their resume that they have in- depth knowledge of the PCI DSS and try to find a job?
I’m new in tech and just got my aws cloud practitioner. I’m working on the VM Qulays course and will have it by end of month. My question is which cert should I get after that ? Security + ? PCI DSS ?
Appreciate this and your work. Definitely going to knock out the PCI after this VM. If I want to look at doing Cloud Security would you have suggestions ?
You’re focusing on the wrong thing. Learn the skills and the company will pay for the certs. I wasn’t talking about certs in the video I was talking about skill sets. Certified doesn’t mean skilled.
Thank you so much for your videos, you really helped me get my career choices dialled in, I am finishing up my CCNA but then i am going to start making moves to get my Cyber Sec certs. Thank you for your amazing insights into the industry, you are changing lives!

I really appreciate all the knowledge & wisdom you have provided already too.
Thank you! Haven’t done the research like you stated , but I’m a newbie almost complete with my CCNA. Even with the imminent recession a beginner has to start somewhere right? 😅
Nice one Boyd. Still feeling bless following your channel. Quick one though, May I know outside from downloading the PCI DSS V4.0, and studying about it, which certification can one take to show as a proof for job application, which will land one for job interview where one can now convince the interviewer in in-depth of his or her knowledge about the PIC DSS.
Hey Boyd! You have absolutely jump started my interest in Cyber Security Auditing. I come from a background of Automotive finance and event sales/management. I am without a degree as I started working out of High School. I am looking at getting my CISA and CISSP while working full time. How do I combat not having a degree when almost every job listing lists that as a minimum requirement?
Focus on the key word “almost”. Every job doesn’t require a degree so turn your attention to them. I don’t have a degree either. You can land the job when you can prove your ability to do the work.
Hello everyone, Boyd (or anyone in the community) how can I transition from Accounting to PCI without certs(if possible) I have a strong attention to detail and auditing is apart of my job. Is that a doable move and still obtain the 6 figure roll?

Educated more by Mr. Clewis. Thank you and I will get on top of learning the PCI DSS standards now.
My question would be . Since this involves the process of payments and security does the candidate have to undergo a credit check prior to hire ?
