    HI Hunter! you promised and do the review! Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it, I knew it would surprise you for good.
    I think the sports metrics are quite good because in their previous model they had the same functions but with the algorithms of the company that did the same for Garmin and Suunto (I can't remember the name). So I guess they tried to make it as similar as possible.
    I think you would also be surprised by the Huawei Band 7, it is a smartband that costs 30 dollars with the same functions of Training Load, Vo2 max, recovery but with the TrueSense 4 sensor, for me it is a smartband with an excellent sensor and functions for the price really .

      Hey Franco! I 'm about to decide between those 2 and no one has done a thorough review of the advanced features came with the new Huawei trusport concept. So little infor about the huawei technology on toutube and review sites due to the trade ban on the brand i assume, US citizens are missing alot!
      Can you tell me exactly which functions of huawei trusport architecture is missing in band 7 compared to gt runner?
      Huawei website gives a summary of trusport features and metrics that future advanced fitness trackers will be built upon and some important metrics are very desirable. one such metric is "heart rate-bpm recovery rate" measurements taken between 1 to 2 minutes time frame right after any exercise has ended. This metric has a high correlation rating with coronary overall health and any underlying issues prognosis

    Instant like and sub. Thank you. Still torn between the gt runner and the gt 3 pro. My wrist is quiet small. Sometimes I just consider settling for the watch fit2 or band 8. So frustrating when the design gets in the way.

    Great review I agree 100%. My question to you will be how you compare it with a Garmin Venu 2 plus and the Amazfit GTR 4 although both of the does not have recovery.

    • @fitgearhunter
      @fitgearhunter  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Great question! I think the Venu 2 has a much more comprehensive wellness package, so it doesn't compete very well versus that, but the training analytics that the GT runner offers are better so it's a little bit difficult. I would still choose the Venu 2 over the GT runner. And I would choose the GT runner over the GTR4 every day of the week.

    Ey man, can this watch just display the HR number in a big format (using the size of the screen)?
    I bought its little brother, the Watch Fit 2. The screen is big but the HR display is small and you cannot change or customize the size of the HR number size.
    If you're a runner, then you know that it's comfortable to have big numbers on the display. It is annoying as hell (to me at least) to look at tiny HR numbers while i'm huffing and puffing during a run. Is this 26:23 the size of the HR number when you choose the HR as the only data on screen?
    I also wonder: Can you use the mechanical buttons to scroll through the training screens while you're running? With the fitbit 2 you have to swipe and use the touch screen. And there you are.. almost dying during an intensive run and you swipe & swipe and the screen just doesn't listen or jumps to the music screen or moon phases. I had hoped i could use the mech. buttons. It goes to show the Huawei people are no runners.

    • @fitgearhunter
      @fitgearhunter  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey! Totally get what you are saying, and great question. No - I don't know that you can set a HR only screen, but honestly didn't test it. And yes - the scroll wheel will allow you to change screens. Thanks!

      @@fitgearhunter Do you have to 'press' or do you have to 'twiddle' on that wheel button to change the screens during training? And is it the same with apple watches?
      All these watches have this wheel button. I don't have the nerves to twiddle on a knob while on the verge of puking. I need good old push buttons.

    • @fitgearhunter

    Hi. I'm using GT3PRO for one month (the same software) and did with it about 21 trainings, "trainnig index" data is still empty. In Europe app looks exactly the same there are no additional features. It only differs when you are using an android phone, than you have app store icon in the app and you can download additional apps (radio, calucator, etc.). HR zones in the watch sometimes appear the same as you have mentioned and sometimes they show correct data in each zone, I don't have any idea why it differ because all the time I use only 3 types of workouts (CrossFit, strenght, other for gimnastics). I'm looking forward to your futher tests, especially I'm iterested in "trainig index" data :)

      @@fitgearhunter I’m not sure what do you mean by “no additional watch faces”. There are lots of them in the app, paid and free ones. In my opinion the biggest con is that paying with the watch doesn’t work, at least in Europe, even though device has NFC.

  • @giffordod

    I can't understand why Garmin can't figure out how to track heart rate as accurately as Apple and Huawei during CrossFit-style workouts. The Garmin ecosystem is as good as any. Unfortunately, garbage in, garbage out. My Huawei Watch Fit 2 tracks beautifully, incredibly close to my chest strap. Since I replaced the band with a flexible nylon strap and started wearing it about an inch higher on my wrist during workouts, the accuracy has been even better. I would gladly switch back to Garmin in a couple years if they develop a sensor that can track like this Watch Fit 2.

    • @fitgearhunter
      @fitgearhunter  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I hear you - makes no sense to me either. The recent HR sensor is much better, but accuracy could def still be improved to match those. I agree.

    It's a great fitness tracker, the best sensors, but terrible smartwatch.
    If you look for a great fitness deviceI advice to buy the Huwaey band 8 of Huawei watch fit 2 if you want native GPS, it's a lot cheaper and the sensors are almost the same.
    if you look for a good smartwatch experience go for apple watch.
    Also, if you have an Iphone the experience is much worst because it has a lot of limitation with iOS.

    it seems that this price point is too close to the Forerunner 255 to be really successful, nor a good choice due to the maturity of the Garmin brand and your ability to move up in the Garmin field as your needs change. just my thoughts

    • @fitgearhunter
      @fitgearhunter  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes on the Amazon links that appears to be true, but those prices fluctuate considerably. When I first looked it was $275. But the real question is if you are in Europe, because then the price is $136, which is incredibly cheap. I bought both of these for about $200 brand new on eBay from different European countries
