Other areas are residential, which most people aren't leaving home due to their jobs being closed and nowhere to spend the day but home.

On March 17 2020 I was out with a friend walking our dogs. I said to her, "Look around you and remember what this daywas like, because things will never be the same when this is over" It's almost a year now and it's getting harder to remember what it was like. I started driving professionally in The City in 1966, close to 2 million miles on those city streets. This video is chilling. The closest I've seen was right after the Loma Prieta quake, but there were at least buses!

Busses are still running in the city. I don’t know how people protect themselves and each other on a bus. Like the 48, it would only fit 6 people in , if 6 foot distance is to be maintained . I was in San Jose 20 miles form the epicenter In the Lebaron Hotel watching the world series. It shook so bad my wife and I were thrown to the floor. Unbelievable. Scary time. This is worse because aftershocks from this virus will be years. Not fair for the 20 somethings just starting out. I'm gonna miss the street performers, the wharf, hippie hill, Marin headlands, Lands End, Giants Games holy shit! Best place on earth to watch a ball game, Tomasos Pizza, Scomas. Where can we go from Sacramento now? Tahoe is off limits to tourists. Golf Courses are the only recreational activity open now here. They're are booked solid a month out 7 days a week smfh. God Bless all the medical professionals who have fallen to this and the ones still risking their lives taking care of others.

I pray we all take this time to reflect on the beautiful gifts of God we have received and how we didn’t appreciate them enough. I hope good comes out of this.
My husband I were there for a few days to celebrate New Year’s Eve, so many people there, malls were from after Christmas sales, the restaurants were packed...we had dinner at Tadich Grill, one of our favorite places for a good dinner. We walked to the Embarcadero area to watch the fireworks go off at midnight, we wanted to be somewhere different to celebrate the new decade instead of staying home. We go to San Francisco a couple of times a year but seeing this video, no words or just, oh wow! That city is always crowded. People from all over the world visit S.F. I have family in San Jose I can’t visit. Every time we’ve been to S.F., we have never had issues with anyone, we’ve walked around the city at night, no problems and we use their public transportation to get around. I have to be positive, I pray, I talk it out with my hubby and my mom to help me not go into a sad depression (Stay away from my Oreo’s!😉)... My mom always says, we’ll all be just fine. I can’t see my mom on her birthday this Friday, she’ll be 78 and she’s doing great and still gets on a tall ladder to pick Avocados from her big tree, she scares me sometimes! We all have to be positive, make wishes, say your prayers, make future plans, hug your dog, hug your cat... don’t forget to hug the people you’re around 24/7! Lol 😉 “Air Hug”!! 💖😁

i live in the east bay, and oakland, alameda, san leandro etc. still have people driving and shopping. just about every fast food, corner store, grocery store and any essential business is open all the time. its not nearly as many cars as normal, but its definitely not anything close to empty. in fact theres more people walking and biking in neighborhoods than ive ever seen(even more than summertime). i was in sf a couple times since the shutdown and it was the same as here in the east bay, more quiet than usual but not abandoned and empty like in these videos. when i went it was never as quiet as these videos. they obviously had to wait all day to get these drone shots... we've been quarantined for weeks but they just now put this video out cuz it was obviously hella hard to get drone shots of sf looking empty so they took forever to get all the footage to make a video. conclusion: this is a reach

I just moved to SF, i lived down LA in a small town and I got boring there. I moved here because I like to see a lot of people, traffic, lights, I got depressed in Dana Point because always was empty... Now that I was in an amazing city... everything is empty again.... I start to feel depressed again. What a shame... SF was a perfect place to make me feel happy 😔 I am form Mexico City, the bigger city, so I like to se tonnels of people 😞

i live in the east bay, and oakland, alameda, san leandro etc. still have people driving and shopping. just about every fast food, corner store, grocery store and any essential business is open all the time. its not nearly as many cars as normal, but its definitely not anything close to empty. in fact theres more people walking and biking in neighborhoods than ive ever seen(even more than summertime). i was in sf a couple times since the shutdown and it was the same as here in the east bay, more quiet than usual but not abandoned and empty like in these videos. when i went it was never as quiet as these videos. they obviously had to wait all day to get these drone shots... we've been quarantined for weeks but they just now put this video out cuz it was obviously hella hard to get drone shots of sf looking empty so they took forever to get all the footage to make a video.

Holy SHIT!! San Fran is TRULY EMPTY. I’m from NY. Born/bred, but now live in suburbs, 1/2 hour North. You’d think that NYC(5 Boroughs) & surrounding suburbs would be empty too, but unfortunately is not.

My home town ....so quiet and deserted...makes me sad
I just moved to SF, i lived down LA in a small town and I got boring there. I moved here because I like to see a lot of people, traffic, lights, I got depressed in Dana Point because always was empty... Now that I was in an amazing city... everything is empty again.... I start to feel depressed again. What a shame... SF was a perfect place to make me feel happy 😔 I am form Mexico City, the bigger city, so I like to se tonnels of people 😞
