People are so quick to assume the worst (assuming target is pushing gay onto kids lmaoo) just let kids be kids fr. Even if they find influence from lgbt people out there, being a kid and growing up is about finding yourself and seeing where you wanna be and who you want to be around yk??
It's all a matter of projection. That is to say, it's the bigots that are sexualizing the children's swimwear. Some people just forget that there's more than one perspective ever and it's so baffling to me how anyone could be so daft. I'm autistic and even I am better than them at recognizing the thought processes of others. I've struggled to not see myself as intrinsically superior to everyone else specifically because of the same kind of people who would get upset over stuff like this, because compared to the average homophobe, I am wisdom incarnate.
Kids are bonkers about bright brain stimulating colours, they literally need it as their brain develops (that's why sad beige is bad for children) any child development specialist worth their salt will tell you that they go coockoo for coco puffs for loud and bright colours. Like kids don't care about your snowflake ass being huffy about rainbows they're gonna wear that shit anyways like did you forget what it's like to be a kid?
At my local elementary school, a teacher has had her classroom labeled as "The Rainbow Zoo" for years - in reference to a kid's book. A SINGLE parent, whose kid wasn't even IN THE CLASS complained. I don't know what the outcome was of that. But it's just.... so absolutely stupid. She's had that as her classroom name since I WAS A KID. I'm 25. My friends that went to public school recall it being called that. Hell. I loved rainbows as a kid. In school, all the girls in my class in Catholic school created signs for each of us. What was mine? A rainbow? I didn't even KNOW about the LGBT+ community at the time. (I am a part of it now.) But I just liked rainbows. My room was covered in them. Kids like colors.
As an enby with a chronic pain condition, I constantly have to pretend to be someone I’m not while also pretending that I’m not in any pain. I’m honestly glad to see them have this lukewarm outrage over the existence of people who are different from them. I think it’s high time that they’re the ones who have to mask their true (read: hateful) feelings, and normalizing visibility for marginalized communities is a great step in that direction.
I feel you when you said that you have to pretend like you're not in pain. I was recently diagnosed with 2 rare disorders that cause a tremendous amount of pain and joint dislocations. If I told my friends every time I was in pain, that's literally all I would talk about. It's a lot harder than a lot of people without chronic pain realize so I definitely welcome and encourage more disability visibility as long as it's not pandering.

These people make nutcrackers of real female Democratic politicians as a misogynistic joke, but sob about an affirming Pride nutcracker. The cruelty is the point.
Santa Claus is a concept based off a fantastical wizard from Russian folklore. He's an idea. He's an archetype so broad, Christians were able to associate a complete different person (Saint-Nicolas) to an established pagan tradition seamlessly. I love seeing ethnic diversity in christmas merchandise because it opens the door to anyone playing Santa to make little children happy despite what they look like.
I already knew Tchaikovsky was gay but this is how I found out man’s was definitely a submissive bottom as well which just enhances my whole world honestly. Truly a prime example of a chaos bottom (used real cannons in a composition). What a legend.
I don't want to ruin the conversation, but as a straight (probably?) woman, I just wonder why two gay men not just...switch up. I mean, sure, you might have a preference. But I expected gay men to just..switch up every once in a while. They are (if they are cismale) not in danger of any pregnancy and youknow..if there are no diseases, then there won't be anything like "Oh no, you've been in that hole, don't use the other one' (like with a woman, you can't go in the back then in the front.) A.k.a. gay men can just do their partner and then say; 'I'm tired, do me' and turn around and get done. Sure, women with strapons can do the same, but it's more of a hassle, putting it on and youknow. I'm just confused that they seclude themselves in a box, as it were, saying they are a bottom or a top. And then 'giving top energy' (overly what-society-calls-masculine) or bottom energy (what-society-calls-feminine) and then behave as...what back in the day, offensive folk would refer to as a 'wife and husband' in the bedroom. (Youknow, when they ask a gay couple who the female is and who is the man.) Youknow? It seems weird to me that you got out of your box and then..made yourself a new box. If women can wear strapons and please their husband with them...why can't gay men just...both be both roles? Why do they introduce themselves in the club (appareantely) as...one or the other? And then maybe two 'tops' will never see eachother again, because both are tops. Unless you're absolutely against being a bottom ofcourse... well, do you get my point? I don't understand..it seems degrading to themselves.
@@Widdekuu91 It's just a term assigning a preference, it doesn't necessarily mean you 100% only ever do one thing. As for labelling behaviours, I believe there is a difference between assigning yourself something and society assigning you something. I'd also argue there is a difference between being called "the sub and top" and being called "the man and woman" of a relationship when you're both.. well, men. Boxes for yourself aren't necessarily bad but the woman and man one A. disregards both partners are "the man" and B. assumes "man and woman" to be the normal idea of a relationship, which is.. well, yknow.
@@lunar_rainbow I know, but then why is the behaviour of the sub/bottom always stereotypically female/camp and the behaviour of the top one always stereotypically manly? Why did they go for that idea, if they didn't base it off the stereeotypical idea of a man penetrating and a woman receiving? Why can you technically witness two subs being greated by a top by; 'Hello girls!' or 'Oh hello ladies' whereas a top might not respond to it, but will be called some sortof "manlier" name? I mean, I don't have anything against giving yourself a label, I kindof understand that for one-night-stands (which is also a stereotype for gay men, but okay) you might need to know a bit more about preferences that way, but it's weird how 'locked in' it all seems now, as if everyone has their own little box/cubicle and people will refer to people as 'such a sub' or 'such a top' if they say something. Which is putting someone in a box, right?
@@Widdekuu91I can help explain. For me I just dislike anything near my rear and much rather doing a guy. I just don't feel comfortable near that area nor feel any pleasure from it. Everyone is just different. Will I still wash my ass? Of course hygiene is important.

Mad respect for mentioning that Target employees were being threatened. Lots of people just think target didn’t want to lose money, which is probably also true, but still.
I work at target and had a woman come through my line buying black disabled Santa. I told her I love that Santa and thought his little face was so cute. She told me she works at our local assisted living/pt facility. I thought about that fox girl with the tiny face. That black disabled Santa is gonna look so good on their front desk.
As a disabled person (not physically; neurodivergent and mentally ill) seeing the black disabled Santa made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, which is what Christmas is about! Imagine how happy a black wheelchair user would feel to see that ornament! Why would they want to take the Christmas spirit away? That’s not Christlike at all. Also, they’re just jealous that the gay nutcrackers look cooler than they do.
I work at Target! I had a black family come through and they had some black Santa plushies and Christmas ornaments. I actually said "Of course Santa is black" when the children asked me. I think it's cool to see black Santa!!! Seriously it's awesome to see the inclusion
The black disabled Santa thing is funny. They keep complaining about how they’re “limiting their market” and “who are they even appealing to?” by making Santa black and disabled. If you don’t want it, don’t buy it. It’s not for you. They keep saying “It’s not an actual depiction of Santa,” as if they wouldn’t bat an eye if anything else changed about him.
The second part is even funnier because any time somebody has any sort of problem with America their first response is “don’t like it ??? leave 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🦅🦅🦅”
The funniest thing is that they don't seem to mention that there's a white version of the disabled Santa too. It's almost like... an agenda I'd say, but only gay people have those of course. 😂
My dad will literally sit and watch Fox News for hours and provide commentary for anyone unfortunate enough to walk into the living room. How he can sit there and watch mind-meltingly stupid hate bait is beyond me.
The best thing I learned all year is that Fox News is legally listed as an entertainment network, not a news network. Conservatives are so brainwashed into thinking Fox News are the only ones “brave enough to tell the truth” even though they had to legally protect their right to blatantly lie. America is a fucking sitcom
As someone who is not LGBTQ and is not disabled, I think these are great representations of a very small part of the people here in America and I think we need more representation like this in media and stores, and even though I’m not gay or anything I will be buying that nutcracker because it is absolutely incredible looking like not only is it representing the LGBTQ plus community but it’s also just a fun little nutcracker he’s so campy
I would also like to say I do not mean to speak over LGBTQ plus people or disabled people. You all deserve rights and representation in media and in merchandising like this, but at the end of the day, it’s everyone’s choice to support or not and I just find the gay nutcracker to be incredibly amazing looking not only does it show support towards that community. It’s also just an awesome nutcracker, I have the upmost respect for LGBTQ plus people seeing as you continue to fight for your rights and also disabled people who also continue to fight for the rights. I love all of you and you all deserve rights and respect.
I sent my mom a picture of the gay nutcracker and she went out and bought him the next time she was at target. His name, according to her, is Cincinnati, and he has become such an immediate icon within my family (despite living at my apartment and not my parents' house), that my 8 year old sister apparently called a pride flag she saw the other day a "Cincinnati flag". While this causes me to wonder about some things regarding my sister's worldview, it is also hilarious. Gay nutcracker isn't making Christmas a woke thing, Cincinnati is making queerness a Christmas thing.
told my mom (very supportive of me since coming out) about the gay nutcracker for christmas asked jokingly if we could get it because we already have nutcrackers and they're husbands in my eyes so we don't really need a third. she went "well as long as it's not ugly" and i absolutely died of laughter; love her
I will never get over when people get mad when a depiction of Santa is anything but a white able bodied man. Santa is literally the spirit of Christmas, a spirit encompassing good will and magic can literally look like anyone because anybody can have those traits in their heart!!

It makes sense for Santa Claus to deliver presents to every child in the world on a single night, carrying all of them in one bag on a flying sleigh, entering houses via the chimney and eating each of the sweets offered to him. But, like, it's totally unrealistic for him to be in a wheelchair, don't be silly

As an aroace Ecuadorian girl, Merry Sinmas! I would love to have a Christmas decoration with the aroace flag. I would also love a neurodiverse Christmas decor collection, with gold or rainbow infinity symbols for the autism spectrum and rainbow infinity butterflies for ADHD.
Minor note, while Chaikovsky's balket was the thing that made nutcrackers popular, it was actually based on a german fairytale by Goffman, which was the actual origin of nutcracker.
“Who are they trying to appeal to?” Me, blinking incredulously: Is this a serious question…? Who do you THINK it appeals to?! 😂 almost like… products are meant to appeal to specific people!? Gee, whoda thunk it??? Such a weird thing to say.
Right!? It's crazy how they never consider that maybe the product appeals to it's target audience/the people it represents. I would never walk into a hunting lodge and say, "but who does this appeal to" just because I think killing animals for sport is gross.
I will never comprehend these people....Its almost like not all products are for one group of people.... why yell about something thats not intended for you? Main character syndrome much 😅
"Who is this for? Who is black disabled santa for?" Um. Like... maybe black disabled people? A real group of people? "Where the majority of people stand on this issue" this isn't an issue. Right next to the gay nutcracker was a sexually neutral one
As a Catholic who spends Christmas in Church and grew up with parents who thought the commercialisation of Christmas was a cardinal sin… this is incredibly ironic. Wait till you tell these righties that Christmas is about Christ and not Santa Claus or Christmas trees or presents.
I'm only "mildly" obsessed with The Nutcracker story, so I have a large collection of nutcrackers and I've never been more exited than when I saw a pride nutcracker, (this one was at Joanns) I'm also planning on making a whole character for him too. He's going to be a trans man of course!
I have a black mrs claus ornament that used to be my grandmas. She passed 3 years ago and now we have it every christmas in honor of her :) I honestly cant understand how people can get so offended by these things
thinking about how we get called snowflakes constantly by conservatives and then a nutcracker with a pride flag exists and they're screaming and crying
I was w/ the name of Alphabet Mafia before conservatives ruined it. Now I use Quilt Bag. Q - Queer/Questioning U - Undecided I - Intersex L - Lesbian T - Trans B - Bi A - Asexual G - Gay/Genderqueer
tbh, from a purely aesthetic pov, black santa and black christmas angel decor just looks better than white ones. theyre already WEARINg white!! idk i just adore the contrast between light and dark colors, and with santas white beard and the white borders of fluff between his skin and the red of his coat, i think dark skin really does fit the best.
On the first day of sinmas, the Right Wing gave me the fear of nutcrackers. Also, funny story: I used to work at Macy's and one holiday season, a Karen wanted me to explain why we had Black Santa dolls. I said everyone had different interpretations of Santa, to which she replied "well, MY Santa is white"
Seriously, They can literally buy anything in the shop, but if anyone in a minority wants to buy a product that represents them, suddenly it's a huge problem. Why can't they just buy the things they want, and not buy the things they don't want. And let other people do the same without throwing tantrums on national television!
has black santa, like, not always been a thing??? i vividly remember in my childhood growing up and seeing all different kinds of santas being sold in stores as decorations and never really thinking twice about it despite being white myself. i always just thought "oh it makes sense that people would want santa to look like them" is that too hard of a concept to grasp or something

I can’t believe people try weaponizing a rainbow lmao. Like they get so pressed about kids wearing rainbows by association but don’t acknowledge that kids just love rainbows lol. I’m a preschool teacher and I stg every kid in that class is obsessed with rainbows bc they love colors bc they’re kids.
They forget that the rainbow is literally from the sky
Kids do like rainbows, they like colorful clothing in general❤
As an enby with a chronic pain condition, I constantly have to pretend to be someone I’m not while also pretending that I’m not in any pain. I’m honestly glad to see them have this lukewarm outrage over the existence of people who are different from them. I think it’s high time that they’re the ones who have to mask their true (read: hateful) feelings, and normalizing visibility for marginalized communities is a great step in that direction.
Hello fellow Chronic pain endurer ...I agree with you 100% .

Tchaikovsky, who is likely making out with a man in whatever afterlife there is as we speak: "Huh?"

Turning a Christian holiday into a celebration of sin is crazy.
I already knew Tchaikovsky was gay but this is how I found out man’s was definitely a submissive bottom as well which just enhances my whole world honestly. Truly a prime example of a chaos bottom (used real cannons in a composition). What a legend.
How dare you, he was a power bottom. 😄
I don't want to ruin the conversation, but as a straight (probably?) woman, I just wonder why two gay men not just...switch up.
I mean, sure, you might have a preference. But I expected gay men to just..switch up every once in a while. They are (if they are cismale) not in danger of any pregnancy and youknow..if there are no diseases, then there won't be anything like "Oh no, you've been in that hole, don't use the other one' (like with a woman, you can't go in the back then in the front.)
A.k.a. gay men can just do their partner and then say; 'I'm tired, do me' and turn around and get done.
(Youknow, when they ask a gay couple who the female is and who is the man.)
Youknow?
The "it's not realistic" argument against magical creatures will never not be baffling to me. They're trying to hide their racism and doing a very poor job at it.
they definitely aren’t hiding their racism
Mad respect for mentioning that Target employees were being threatened. Lots of people just think target didn’t want to lose money, which is probably also true, but still.
"which gay nutcracker goes best with my pronouns" is singlehandedly the funniest sentence i have ever heard
I work at target and had a woman come through my line buying black disabled Santa. I told her I love that Santa and thought his little face was so cute. She told me she works at our local assisted living/pt facility. I thought about that fox girl with the tiny face. That black disabled Santa is gonna look so good on their front desk.
As someone who was once a closeted trans child I think that a gay nutcracker would have made me sooo happy and more comfortable with being trans
"This depiction of a mythological supernatural all-knowing immortal man with an army of flying reindeer isn't realistic at all; he's black!"
The only people buying it ARE conservatives because it's hilarious

I genuinely do believe that watching Fox News makes you dumber.
The best thing I learned all year is that Fox News is legally listed as an entertainment network, not a news network. Conservatives are so brainwashed into thinking Fox News are the only ones “brave enough to tell the truth” even though they had to legally protect their right to blatantly lie. America is a fucking sitcom
Yeah, even in 1984 they thought 2 minutes was enough
It's like cocomelon but for adults with no critical thinking skills
To be fair, hate watching Fox is very fun but I know that’s not what you mean

9:13 Woah there, someone's down horrendous! Like, calm down, Tchaikovsky!
I was w/ the name of Alphabet Mafia before conservatives ruined it. Now I use Quilt Bag.

I’m sure Black Santa has a wheelchair user friendly sleigh.
tbh, from a purely aesthetic pov, black santa and black christmas angel decor just looks better than white ones. theyre already WEARINg white!! idk i just adore the contrast between light and dark colors, and with santas white beard and the white borders of fluff between his skin and the red of his coat, i think dark skin really does fit the best.
4:17 it’s also important to note that TCHAIKOVSKY WAS LITERALLY GAY
On the first day of sinmas, the Right Wing gave me the fear of nutcrackers.
Also, funny story: I used to work at Macy's and one holiday season, a Karen wanted me to explain why we had Black Santa dolls. I said everyone had different interpretations of Santa, to which she replied "well, MY Santa is white"
Yeah I would be mad too if Target's Christmas products slayed harder then I did.
I am a Ambulatory wheelchair user and.... I love wheelchair Santa. He's adorable.
I love how conservatives call everyone snowflakes, and yet when they see few colours next to each other, they lose their mind
🤦🏻♀️
If they cared about accuracy, their depiction of Mary and baby Jesus wouldn't be blonde and blue-eyed.
Seriously, They can literally buy anything in the shop, but if anyone in a minority wants to buy a product that represents them, suddenly it's a huge problem.
Why can't they just buy the things they want, and not buy the things they don't want. And let other people do the same without throwing tantrums on national television!
conservatives on cismas eve when they hear desantis claus passing bills down the chimney
LMAIOOI
has black santa, like, not always been a thing??? i vividly remember in my childhood growing up and seeing all different kinds of santas being sold in stores as decorations and never really thinking twice about it despite being white myself. i always just thought "oh it makes sense that people would want santa to look like them" is that too hard of a concept to grasp or something
literally😭😭
I love you. This take on people getting so worked up over ornaments used to decorate for a holiday is ridiculous. I can not even begin to tear down their issues because I would never have the self control to not break their fragile little brains. I'm glad you do
