"Driving the Handle" swing thought and sharing his epiphany of the "breaking point" with longer irons at 5:20 - is simply a form of charity and community service. In one sentence, Mr. Porzak is divulging valuable pearls of golf wisdom, which im sure have filtered gradually over many years of trial and error. He could easily keep all of this intel and experience secret, sharing only with a select few. Instead he promulgates and helps improve the golf community. Listen closely to this guy and you'll shave 2 years of trial and error from your game. This dude is not a coach. He is a public servant. Thank you Mr. Porzak.

These videos have Massively improved my takeaway, the best on line instruction I’ve found. And this downswing video is great also. I dragged the club massively inside but now I’m right on plane. The only thing I can’t seem to rectify , is that I still can’t quite keep my butt back totally on the backswing, but only a very slight movement of an inch or so, with a very slight lift of an inch also, I manage to retain my spine angle on the downswing no probs. Kind regards Gary England.

Also when you talk about rehearsing slow that’s great advice, I play music and one of the fundamentals of being able to play an instrument fast is to speak the notes slowly. Once your brain can comprehend in slow motion what you are trying to do then it can happened at full speeds.

That half-pace swing at 7:38 is money. If I had the patience and discipline to play that for an entire round, I would probably shave 10 strokes.
I also find it so interesting/frustrating that what works for one player doesn't work for another. The bottom line is I really need to get in front of Adam somehow, and not just for one session. How good do you think you would get if you could do what that Nevada State Am champ did. Take a morning session with Adam. Grind it all day. Come back the next day for another session. If you did that for a week, how much better do you think your game would be? A hundred and fifty bazillion probably. Just ballparking.

I have watched this video at least 10 times and discover something new each time. The latest nugget is Adam's statement about the hip bump causing pressure on the inside of the trail foot, which makes it so much easier to fire the trail foot at the beginning of the downswing. Thanks, Adam!!!

I have a question regarding the “pushing off the right heel reference at 9:05”….How can you push off the right heel while keeping hips back to start the downswing if you are supposed to start the downswing by transferring weight to front (left) foot? Can you do both at the same time? Maybe just have even pressure to start?

    Hi
Imagine this, the cameraman is down the line pushing a oversized beach ball, the golfer job is during the practice swing with the arms folded, feel as if he needs to stay down an compress the beach ball as it goes by with his shoulders a bit an push the ball down the line without loss of momentum of the beach ball going by.

Absolutely fantastic content! There is a gluttony of golf instruction content on TH-cam although, from what I’ve seen, the vast majority of said content consists of generic, regurgitated teaching philosophies through the eyes of uncredentialed gurus. Your process looks to be heavy on visualization/utilizing visual que’s, which I respond to most successfully, as I tend to believe the majority of amateurs (like me) prefer ocular representations vs. flat, sterile verbal instruction.
Some of the issues you were addressing with your student I just happen to share, but on a level of extreme that is difficult to describe. To say I have a duck hooking issue would be disingenuous, as the more apt description of my hooking would be the Mach 50 Neo Turbo Duck Hook of Destruction and Death. To add some context, I’m a 3-ish handicap and the last tournament/member guest I played, my hooking issues were debilitating to the point that I shelved my woods, and resorted to hitting a sawed off, low flying, bullet stinger for the rest of the round. When you’re hooking the ball 25ys with a 62’ lob wedge, it’s time to admit that you’ve been infected with a severe case of the Y!ps. My hook is straight to the left, and nary reaches more than 2-4 ft off the ground. I was having difficulties creating decent height with my irons, particularly my long irons. What’s worse is I feel that I’m both casting and covering the ball at times, although I think it’s physically impossible to do both during a swing??? My club face could be slightly closed at the top of my swing. As my hook is straight left vs veering left, perhaps my swing path coming down is out to in, resulting in a straight left miss. It’s very possible that I’m releasing the club to early, which in turn covers the ball (what’s the fix here?). Apologies for the thesis long post, and I would be much obliged if you have any tips, tactics, fixes, and/or advice to rid myself of this curse. Keep the videos coming.

So much of what Porzak Golf Teaches is sequential from set up, to take away to backswing, if you're out of position or already have the hands and club out of position, then there will have to be some manipulation on the way down. Getting to the root of the issue usually means going back to the beginning. - Gabe
