The other face of the Smiths no lyrics only sound, this melody a Master piece...Andy Rourke, Mike Joyce, Craig Gannon and the other face Johnny Marr simply a Master gem. Mozz we miss your dance.
This video gives another point of view on Andy's professionality: he was not one of those bassist who can only use the pick, but he decided to use it because it gave his basslines that crispy sound only he could make. Not to mention that he initially started to study on the guitar, and even taught Johnny some chords, and post Smiths he helped Morrissey with his basslines and even some songwriting ( The Girl least likely to). He was the most polyhedral member of the band, you can't change my mind.
I’d say Johnny Marr is more than just 50%. I’ve seen him sing Smiths “covers” better than his lordship while playing as sublimely and flawlessly as ever. No gladioli up his arse either!
@@angrypossumsx1259 but Johnny didn't write the lyrics, though. to be fair, even if you hate Morrissey, you have to admit that the relatability and poetry of his words were what caused so many fans to catapult themselves at the stage the way they did, feeling thoroughly seen and understood. now, since we know the Smiths' melodies were written before their lyrics, you could certainly argue that the intricacy of Johnny's instrumentals inspired Morrissey to write as eloquently as he did - which is probably why his Smiths lyrics are more interesting than his solo stuff
TransylvaniaBoogie Quality guitar playing at the highest level from both Johnny & Craig Gannon, he made it possible for this song to be able to sound so good live...
I like this version more than the "studio" one, it has this nice sharp feel to it. Craig Gannon really helped Marr here.
Agree
I agree too!!
Agree 3!
this one’s more funkier too
It’s waaaayyyyyyy better
This live version is absolutely mind blowing.

Some pieces of music make you tap your feet, this is a piece of music that gets your whole body bouncing off walls.
Awesome! Great to have Gannon on board to really fill out the guitar parts!
That final tour in 1986 they were at their absolute peak. What a way to go out.

Andy Rourke toca muito. Baita baixista. Os Smiths sem ele não seria a mesma coisa.
Andy Rourke a great bass player, so tight and I don’t think he ever dropped a note, hit a wrong note or lost timing.
Andy Rourke - what a slapper
This is like a great jam session for the band
Johnny e Andy são dois monstros
Felizmente os dois ainda são muito amigos ainda fazem participações juntos pra quem é fã muito bacana
Such a great tune !!
Truly, this is phenomenal. So tight, so perfect.
This shows there was a hell of a lot more to the Smiths than Morrissey, as great as he is.
Marr is 50% The Smith's. Any real fan should know that.
Path Of The Gamer what about rourke and Joyce ?

Einer der besten songs... - one of the best melodious music opus...
why this isnt more well known, i`ll never know
I fully agree. It's one of my favourite Smiths tunes and I hope that Johnny will one day add it to his set again.
Andy Rourke!!!! ❤️
Sounds unrivaled! Couldn't see much with all that smoke from Johnny's fingers. Thank you Francisco, for the memories!xx
Mike Joyce, Andy, Craig and Johnny..all at their best...
…and Morrissey.
@@javierdioss Morrissey doesn’t appear in this song
I think Morrissey is spot on with finding it hard to write lyrics to this tune......
music perfection.
No words in the "song" and I have no words to describe its beauty. Goes straight to my spine.

Great sound and performance but I still prefer the original studio version which sounds a lot more raspy and uncut.
Fucking awesome bass line !!!
There is that.
And then there is everything else.
Depends.
Wooooooowwwwww

Sounds like the poor man's version of Led Zeppelin's 'Trampled Underfoot'.
Which itself was Zeppelin's take on Stevie Wonder's 'Superstition'...
