Thank you! Just done this as my mirror got smashed off. A small thing to add, if you have manual windows, you need to remove the widow Winder before the door card will come off. And the clips stayed in the door for me, so I had to pull the clips out of the door.
I successfully changed the passenger mirror on my 2007 polo but do you have a tutorial or some guidance on the driver side as its a different panel and electrics. thanks!!!
Hey, not sure if youre still responding to comments but my replacement mirror only has 1 black and 1 yellow wire, then i have an extra component that seems to have wire attached to that and a pin at the end, any idea if this is the wrong type of mirror

Could that be a manually adjusted mirror you have there, instead of a motorised one ? ?
